Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 {Patriarch Magnus}

"Sierra how dare you act like this!" A woman with red hair wearing designer clothes snapped at Sierra who didn't say anything she just looked at Sia her stepmother. She also looked at her father Nick who also glared at her. Her other step siblings also looked at her Amber eyes glared Sierra who sighed and Lucas was shocked to see how beautiful Sierra has become in over seven years.

Sierra's gaze swept over her family, her expression cold and unyielding. She looked at each of them, her eyes lingering on their faces before moving on. Her gaze finally came to rest on her father, Nick, and she raised an eyebrow.

"Father," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"It's been a while."

Sierra's eyes flicked to her stepmother, Sia, and she smiled sweetly.

"And you, Stepmother. I see you're still as beautiful as ever. Though, I must say, your taste in clothes has improved. I'm sure it's not courtesy of Father's wallet, is it?"

Sierra's gaze moved to her step-siblings, Amber and Lucas, and she raised an eyebrow.

"And you two. I see you're still as charming as ever. Though, Lucas, I must say, you look a bit...shocked. Did you not expect me to grow up and become beautiful?"

Sierra's smile grew wider as she took a step forward, her eyes never leaving her family's faces.

"I must say, I'm a bit disappointed. I expected more... venom from you all. After all, it's been seven years since I've seen you. I've changed a lot since then. But I suppose some things never change, do they?"

Sierra's gaze locked onto her father, her eyes boring into his.

"You're still as cold and calculating as ever, Father. And you, Stepmother, are still as manipulative and cruel. And as for you two," she said, her gaze flicking to Amber and Lucas,

"You're still as weak and spineless as ever."

The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of Sierra's family as they struggled to come to terms with the woman standing before them. They had expected the same timid, weak girl they had pushed around and bullied for years. But instead, they were faced with a confident, beautiful woman who seemed to be enjoying their discomfort.

Everyone were watching this first everyone was shocked this woman was Sierra, the second thing this party was suppose to be be an engagement party but this turned out to be a drama countless of people just whispered among each other.

The room was electric with tension as Sierra's family struggled to respond to her jabs. Her father's face was red with anger, her stepmother's eyes were narrowed in fury, and her step-siblings looked like they were about to implode. The guests were eating it up, whispering and pointing as they tried to get a better look at the drama unfolding before them.

Just as it seemed like things were about to get out of hand, a low, smooth voice cut through the tension.

"I think that's enough," the voice said, and the room fell silent as all eyes turned to the speaker. It was the man from behind the curtain, the one with the piercing dark emerald green eyes. He was standing now, his tall, imposing figure commanding attention as he walked towards Sierra.

The man's eyes locked onto Sierra's, and for a moment, it seemed like time stood still. The room was silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the guests as they waited to see what would happen next. Sierra's smile never wavered, but her eyes seemed to flash with a hint of surprise as she met the man's gaze. It was clear that she had not expected him to intervene, and for a moment, she seemed at a loss for words.

Patriarch Magnus's eyes never left Sierra's face as he approached her, his movements calm and deliberate. He was a man who exuded power and authority, and the room seemed to shrink around him as he walked. Lucas's greeting was met with a nod, but his attention remained fixed on Sierra.

As he reached her side, Patriarch Magnus's eyes seemed to bore into hers, as if searching for something. Sierra's smile never wavered, but her eyes seemed to flash with a hint of wariness. It was clear that she was not intimidated by him, but she was certainly aware of his power and influence.

"So, you are Sierra Watergate," Patriarch Magnus said, his voice low and smooth.

"I've heard a great deal about you." He paused, his eyes never leaving hers.

"I must say, I'm intrigued. You're not at all what I expected."*

*lThe room seemed to hold its breath as Patriarch Magnus's words hung in the air. Sierra's response was awaited with bated breath, and the tension was palpable as the guests waited to see how she would react to the patriarch's words.

"Piss off," Sierra snapped coldly why is he bothering her time trying to ruin this engagement party.

Patriarch Magnus's eyes narrowed slightly at Sierra's retort, but a small, enigmatic smile played on his lips.

"Ah, I see," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.

"You're as... spirited as I've heard." He took a step closer, his eyes never leaving hers.

"I think we need to talk, Sierra. Privately."

Sierra's eyes flashed with annoyance, but she didn't back down.

"I don't think so," she said, her voice cold and detached.

"I'm not interested in talking to you, Patriarch Magnus. Whatever it is you want, I'm not interested."

Patriarch Magnus's smile grew wider, and he chuckled low in his throat.

"Oh, I think you'll be very interested in what I have to say, Sierra," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement.

"You see, I have some information that I think you'll find... enlightening. About your past, and your family."

Sierra's eyes narrowed, and she took a step back, her heart racing with a mix of curiosity and wariness. What could Patriarch Magnus possibly know about her past? And why was he bringing it up now, at this engagement party?

"Then keep it to yourself, I don't care about it nor do I want to know," Sierra said her Zeken started to ring her white wrist lit up and she heard the cry of the nanny. She sighed and she frowned slightly.

"Father I did come," Sierra said and she disappeared within a purple light.

Patriarch Magnus's eyes followed Sierra as she disappeared into the purple light, a hint of surprise on his face. He seemed to have been expecting her to react differently, but instead, she had simply vanished. He shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips.

"I suppose that's one way to avoid a conversation," he said to himself, his eyes glinting with amusement. He turned to Lucas, who was watching him with a mixture of curiosity and fear.

"It seems your sister has more... pressing matters to attend to," Patriarch Magnus said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"I'll have to catch up with her another time, it seems."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Lucas to wonder what had just happened. The partygoers were still in shock, trying to process the sudden and dramatic exit of Sierra and the enigmatic Patriarch Magnus.
