After Armaros spent some time contemplating his lack of the use of fighting skills during actual dangers, he took the head of the bear, skinned it and chopped some of its meat before he packed it all up and went on his way.
He grumbled to himself as he walked as he remembered how useless he was when the bear monster appeared. He was too scared to use his sword techniques and he used Light magic instead of Holy Light as it would've definitely have had more power behind it and might've killed the bear.
Light Magic is like other normal magics and is inferior to Holy Light in power, however, due to whatever curse pr condition he has, he feels pain whenever he uses magic which hinders him. But what he did discover was that Light Magic hurts less than Holy Light which is the reason as to why he unconsciously used Light magic since it was easier to use.
'Get a grip Armaros. You have been banished from the clan. You can't rely on them anymore.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked.
He managed to exit the forest before he made his way to the village he wanted to be in. It was already evening when he was close to the village and he was almost out of water as well, which caused him to feel relieved as he went to the village.
He went to a meat shop first after he entered the village and showed the bear meat to the owner. The owner was surprised at the meat but grinned at seeing it as he looked at him.
"This is good meat. I have to say kid, I never expected you to be capable of hunting an demon bear." The man said to him with a smile.
"Demon bear?" Armaros asked as he blinked in confusion.
"Uh yes, that is the name of bears which become monsters. While they aren't demonic beasts, their behaviour is similiar. You don't know that?" The man asked him in surprise.
"Uh, no. Unfortunately not." Armaros said to him as he rubbed the back of his head.
'Shit. I didn't know that. Actually, I never actually tried to learn about the more common monsters did I. And I wasn't taught about it at home as well.' Armaros thought to himself as he remembered his lessons.
At his former home, he was taught about fighting, the works and accomplishments of his predecessors, and about the more dangerous types of monsters and had glossed over the more common kinds because they weren't worth much in the eyes of his family.
'Well, I guess I can't blame it. The others would've been able to defeat that bear without any problems.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the man.
"Well, I guess not everyone knows these things anyway, I only know because I live in a fairly large village after all." The man said to him with a smile.
"Well, how much for them?" Armaros asked him as he looked at the meat and the head.
"Hmm, for the amount you have brought and the head as well. 50 Quartz." The man said to him as Armaros nodded at that.
The man gave him the money as he left the shot and went to find an inn. Fortunately, there was a good one and he rented a room for the night as he sat on the bed and looked down. The earlier battle, if he could even call it that, replayed in his mind as he clenched his fists as he remembered how he had acted.
'I need to focus. I have to get better control over my emotions. If I don't do that then I will die when a very dangerous enemy appears.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at his sword.
He unsheathed it and looked at its blade as it reflected his face which is one of contemplation. He stared at his reflection for a few moments before he stood up and practiced his swordsmanship in the room.
He swung his sword with practiced ease as he frowned to himself at the fact that he didn't employ the use of his family sword techniques against the demon bear. He needed to get more courage and start to use his sword even in danger, otherwise he will die.
He spent the next half an hour training with the sword before he went to get some food at the nearby restaurant. He ordered some food and sat and at while focusing on the conversation going around him. Due to his body which is much stronger than normal, he is able to hear things more clearly naturally, which helped as he is able to hear everyone in the restaurant.
From everyday events to some gossip, but nothing truly eventful happened or has happened, which helped to calm his nerves as he is happy that nothing drastic has happened in the village. After he ate his food, he paid the money, and then went around asking for information about the adventurers guild.
'That was a good meal for 10 Quartz.' Armaros thought to himself as he
He was aware of the existence of the guild and that it has branches around the Empire, though the village isn't large enough for them to plant a branch there which saddened him a bit.
After walking around and asking more than a dozen people, he finally got the information he wanted about the nearest village with the guild's branch.
'Alright, I got the information I needed. Though it gonna take along while for me to get there which I'm not surprised about to be honest.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the location of the guild branch on the map.
He sighed to himself at the long journey that he has to make, but he knew that he needed to do it to make sure that he becomes more capable and he also needed a source of income before his money ran out.
With plans made, he went to sleep and turned in quickly as he wanted to wake up early in the morning to start his journey, and if luck is on his side, he might even be able to get a cart as well, though he didn't hope for much.
It was late at night now as Armaros was sleeping on his bed, but he was awoken when he heard screaming as he immediately got up from the bed and grabbed his sword as he looked around the room. He didn't see anyone as he immediately went to the window and saw the villagers running away from men with weapons.
'Bandits? Right when I am here?' Armaros thought to himself as he bit back a growl at the sight.
But then his attention was taken when he heard shuffling from outside his room as he heard heavy footsteps coming his way. A few seconds later the door was opened as a bandit walked inside and looked inside the room.
He saw the bed and a lump in the sheet as he grinned and made his way to it with his sword in his hand.
"Alright brat, get up." The bandit said as he pulled the sheet off.
But then he became confused when he only saw Armaros' pillow and bag under the sheet. He only got a few seconds to realise what happened before a sword stabbed him from behind the neck and came out the other side as his eyes widened.
Armaros stood behind the man with his sword as he pulled it out, splattering some blood on him and the rest on the floor as the bandit turned around with blood leaking from his neck and mouth. But he only got the time to glare at him and raise his sword before Armaros stabbed from under his chin.
Blood gushed out of the wound as the bandit went limp as he pulled his sword out and swung it to get rid of the blood as the body fell down as he grabbed it and gently placed it on the floor without making any sounds.
He stayed still as he waited for anyone else to come, but to his relief, no one came as he went to the window and peeked outside and saw that the bandits are gathering the villagers together as he narrowed his eyes.
'Well, there goes my plans.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at his sword.
He hid his belongings and then took the dagger and sword from the bandits dead body and his money before he left the room. He cautiously walked as he used his senses to make sure that he isn't taken by surprise.
He slowly walked down the stairs as he looked down and saw the ground floor of the inn to he a bit trashed as he got down and quickly surveyed his surroundings.
Then he slowly got out of a window into an alley and out of the sight of the bandits who were most likely outside as he carefully made his way through the alleyway as he observed the bandits and the gathered villagers as he counted the numbers.
'There are a total of 28 bandits. That's a lot.' Armaros thought to himself as he watched them.
The bandits have gathered the villagers and tying them up even as they pleaded for them not to do it. The bandits themselves only laughed at their pleas with one even hitting a man in the face.
"Shut it! We don't care about what you think. We'll take your things and then we'll kill you. You can go meet with the Gods." The bandit leader said with a sadistic smile.
"N-No please spare us!"
"Don't kill us!"
"At least let my child live!"
"Oh Gods, please save us!"
The villagers were terrified at his sword as the bandits laughed at how they acted. They often enjoyed the way in which the people of the village they raid and gives them great entertainment.
The bandits kept on laughing, until a sphere of Holy Light obliterated the leaders head and the rest of body, leaving only his feet and some parts of his legs.
This immediately stopped the villagers and bandits as they looked at the remains of the leader in shock. However, two more spheres of Holy Light appeared and hit two more bandits and killed them much to the shock of the rest.
"What the hell!? Who did that!" One bandit shouted as he and the rest of his group got ready with their weapons.
"I-I don't know. That looked like Light Magic!" One bandit said as he and the rest looked around them.
Armaros hid from their views as he gripped his arms as he breathed in and out as the pain went away. Then he jumped out of his hiding and dashed towards the nearest bandit with great speeds without the aid of Mana.
The bandit spotted him as he turned to him with his sword ready as he shouted, gaining the attention of his fellow bandits.
"There is a kid!" The bandit shouted as he attacked.
Only for Armaros to move out of the swing and slice his arm off, and with the same motion swung around and sliced his head clean off his shoulders as his head was thrown in the air and blood gushed out of the wound.
The bandits and the villagers looked at him in shock as a 12 year old boy has just killed a bandit very quickly as Armaros looked at them all.
'Alright, 4 down, 24 more to go. Humans are easier to kill than monsters.' Armaros thought to himself as he dashed towards the next target.
