As Jay began to attack the goblins, one sensed his presence and turned to block but the other goblin, oblivious to what was happening stayed with its back turned.
Taking advantage of this, Jay swiftly attacked the second one, striking it in the head. [Critical Hit!] [You have defeated a goblin!] "One down, one to go" Jay smirked. [Ding! You have leveled up! Continue to level up to unlock new and more powerful skills!] "So I can get stronger, smiled Jay.
But before Jay could celebrate his kill, the second goblin ran at him, brandishing its club, Jay dodged the attack and lifted his dagger to begin his attack.
The goblin with its eyes glowing red quickly resumed its attack and Jay was forced to block it.
Although Jay blocked most of the attack, the goblin managed a hit and smashed its club right on Jay's ribs, sending him flying into the wall.
"I have to remember I'm not invincible" Jay grimaced while wiping some fresh blood off his mouth.
"Let's end this quickly" the goblin now was tired and trying to regain its breath "This is my opportunity!" Smirked Jay as he went in for the kill.
The goblin tried to block its attack but Jay infused energy into his attack, slicing the goblins club in half and slitting its throat.
As the goblin collapsed on the floor, Jay got a new system message: [Ding! You have completed the mission and achieved your second kill! You will be rewarded with 100 exp points and 1 chaos fragment.
"What is a chaos fragment?" Jay asked and in response, the system replied [in order to learn more about the chaos king, you need to find all of the chaos shards scattered through the chaos world and in hidden dungeons. The more you collect, the more you will learn about the chaos king and the impending apocalypse]
"Oh, looks like I need this to complete my missions" Jay remarked. Soon footsteps could be heard with a man shouting "the commotion was here, let's get there as quickly as possible!"
Hearing the people coming, Jay turned invisible again and casually walked away, smiling.

The next day, Damon once again began to taunt Jay but this time Jay ignored him and continued on his day.
"Graysons not going to save you now!" He laughed, "I have the B-Tier talent rock armor!"
As a show of strength, Damon punched a deep hole in a wall and walked off.
"System, register that talent" Jay whispered under his breath. [Registering the B-Tier talent: Rock armor!] [Register successful! The talent Rock Armor will be downgraded to the C-Tier talent: Rock Coating] "Great" rejoiced Jay as he gathered energy into his hand and made a fist "This really works"
"Jay! I heard Damon was threatening you!" Yelled Grayson as he ran through the hallway"
James turned and smiled when he saw Grayson, "I'm fine, i don't think he has the guts to touch me" Jay replied.
"OK, will if you need help, just come to me! I have awakened the A-Tier talent: Lights Blessing! I can use light energy and holy attacks!"
"Looks like I will need to copy that to eventually" Jay thought to himself
Today was another special day as this was the day that each students talents will be assessed.
"I heard that this years assessments are going to be in the lowest region of the chaos world!" A random student chimed in, "Well we do have many geniuses this year so I think it fits well" "that's true but if we want good scores we are going to have to kill monsters ourselves"
"I'll just tag along with Grayson for now" Jay murmured under his breath. This could also be his chance go witness Graysons talent.
"Now since we have everyone, let's begin the assessment, we will meet with the other classes, split into shall groups and begin!" The teacher said with a smile.
Soon all the students were gathered in the main campus of Great Rock highschool and the principal began his speech.
"Greetings, Students! His voice boomed, "Today is the 20th anniversary of the awakening of humanity and this year, we will be hosting assessments in the chaos world!"
Then some armed guards took out a few crystal balls and smashed them on the ground.
"These balls will open up portals to the lowest level of the chaos world and are only temporary so do not worry, you're only going to kill monsters that are 1-2☆, we will give all of you 1 return stone, smash it on the ground and you will return to the human world. Good luck out there!
And with that remark, the principal ended his speech.
Now the students were allotted time to begin forming groups with each other.
"Come on Jay! Let's make a group!" Called out Grayson. Many other students were doing the same. Jay spotted Damon pairing up with another B-Tier awakener. "I hope he doesn't try to interfere with us" Jay thought to himself
Jay could also spot the other A-Tier awakener, her name was Leena and she awakened an ice ability and was one of the campus goddesses.
As the students lined up for the portals, the principal gave one more short speech.
"To pass this assessment, you will need to score 2000 points, a 1☆ monster is worth 200 points and a 2☆ monster is 500"
"You can also find special items left throughout the trial and each is worth 50 points. Once again, good luck out there and make the Great Rock highschool proud!"
Soon the students entered the portals and were greeted with a desolate land with a crimson red sky, monsters could be seen everywhere, even in the sky.
"Let's try to stay away from the rest of the students to get as many points as possible" Jay suggested
"That seems like a good idea, let's head north, the assessment is 3 hours long so let's get to it!" Replied Grayson
