Chereads / System: Building A Tech Empire / Chapter 56 - Gaming Ecosystem

Chapter 56 - Gaming Ecosystem

"Now, the game engines that currently exist in this world, primarily within Kidtendo and Somy, are relatively primitive. They're more like collections of separate tools rather than a unified system. This makes game development here much more difficult and time-consuming," Lin Yun explained, contrasting the current state of the industry with his vision.

He then unveiled the core of his plan. "The game engine we're going to build, the Nebula Game Engine, is different. It's a complete, integrated system, far more advanced than anything that exists today."

He could see the excitement in their eyes now, the gears turning in their minds as they began to grasp the magnitude of what he was proposing.

"This engine will not only allow us to create incredible games, but it will also revolutionize the entire gaming industry in this world. We can license it to other developers, empower them to create games they could only dream of before," Lin Yun declared, his voice filled with conviction. "We're not just building a game studio; we're building an ecosystem. We're providing the tools, the platform, for a whole new generation of game creators."

Pa! Pa! Pa!

Everyone immediately applauded. They looked at Lin Yun with admiration from the bottom of their hearts. It was truly unprecedented that an 18-year-old young man in front of them could come up with so many revolutionary ideas.

At this moment, Jin Yang no longer planned to leave the company. He could already foresee that Cloud Technology would become a pinnacle of existence in the near future. And he, as one of the first employees, would definitely gain a lot of benefits and honors.

"But that's not all," Lin Yun continued, raising his hand to quiet the applause. A mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes. "We're not just going to create games and an engine. We're going to create a platform, a hub for gamers and developers alike."

He paused, letting the anticipation build. "I envision a digital distribution platform, similar to, well, imagine a digital storefront where players can buy and download games directly to their computers. No more physical discs, no more trips to the store. Just instant access to a vast library of games, all in one place."

He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a more confidential tone, as if sharing a closely guarded secret. "We'll call it... Sphere."

The room was silent for a moment, the team absorbing this new piece of information. Then, a low murmur rippled through the crowd, a mixture of curiosity and excitement.

"Sphere will be more than just a store," Lin Yun elaborated, his hands gesturing to emphasize his points. "It will be a community. Players can create profiles, connect with friends, share their gaming experiences, and even participate in online tournaments."

He painted a picture of a vibrant, interconnected ecosystem. "Imagine a place where you can find any game you want, from the biggest blockbusters to the smallest indie gems. A place where you can discuss games with other players, form teams, and compete in online leagues."

"And for developers," he added, his gaze sweeping across the room, meeting the eyes of the programmers and artists, "Sphere will be a gateway to a massive audience. They can publish their games directly on the platform, set their own prices, and reach players all over the world."

He explained the revenue-sharing model he had in mind, a system that he believed would be fair and attractive to developers. "We'll take a smaller cut than traditional publishers, giving developers a larger share of the profits. We want to incentivize creativity, to encourage developers to take risks and create innovative games."

Lin Yun could see the wheels turning in their minds, the implications of his words sinking in. They were not just building a company; they were building a platform that could potentially reshape the entire gaming landscape of this world.

"Sphere will also have built-in social features," he continued, outlining his vision. "Players can create and join groups, share screenshots and videos, and even stream their gameplay live. We want to foster a sense of community, a place where players can connect with each other and share their passion for gaming."

He spoke about the importance of user-generated content, of creating tools that would allow players to mod games, create their own levels, and even design their own virtual items. "We want to empower players to become creators, to contribute to the ecosystem in meaningful ways."

"Think of it," he urged them, his voice filled with passion. "A platform where players can discover new games, connect with friends, compete in tournaments, and even create their own content. A platform that supports developers, fosters innovation, and brings the gaming community together. That's what Sphere can be."

He then addressed the technical challenges, acknowledging the complexity of building such a platform. "This won't be easy. We'll need to build a robust infrastructure, capable of handling millions of users and transactions. We'll need to develop sophisticated anti-piracy measures, ensure a secure and stable environment, and create a user-friendly interface."

"But I have no doubt that we can do it," he declared, his gaze sweeping across the room, meeting the eyes of each team member. "We have the talent, the drive, and the vision. We have the Nebula Engine, which will give us a significant advantage. And we have the opportunity to create something truly special, something that will change the way people play and experience games."

He paused, letting his words sink in. "This is our chance to build something bigger than ourselves, to create a platform that will empower gamers and developers alike. This is our chance to shape the future of gaming."

"So, what do you say?" he asked, a challenge in his voice. "Are you with me?"

The response was immediate and overwhelming. A resounding "Yes!" echoed through the room, followed by enthusiastic applause. The team was fired up, inspired, and ready to embark on this ambitious new venture.

"Chairman, is it too late for me to change my position?" Gong Xiao asked jokingly.

Lin Yun laughed. "Don't worry, there will be more and more projects like this in the future. Although I cannot guarantee everyone the highest position, I promise that all of you will receive ample benefits. The salaries here will always be among the highest in the country, or possibly the world."

The room erupted in cheers and applause once more. The energy was palpable, a tangible force that filled the space. They were ready. They were motivated. And they were united in their purpose!
