Lin Yun had no idea that he had become a piece of fat meat in the eyes of Barry Sage and Billy Doors. In fact, even if he did, he wouldn't care much about it. As a person with a system, how could he lose against mortals?
When he first developed the Cloud Browser, Lin Yun had already prepared several plans against competitors. After all, it wasn't difficult for a big corporation like Megasoft to copy it. All he had to do was stay ahead of everyone.
Lin Yun didn't go to the lab and spent his time resting in the dormitory. He planned to take a rest and enjoy his campus life.
In the morning, Lin Yun woke up and changed his clothes, ready for his routine exercise.
"Where are you going, Brother Yun?" Li Shun asked while slowly getting up from his bed. As a person from a rural area, he usually woke up very early to help his family.
"Exercise. Do you want to come with me?" Lin Yun asked.
Li Shun was tempted. "Wait for me, Brother Yun."
He quickly headed to the bathroom and changed into a worn-out tracksuit.
Fan Xian heard the noise and opened his sleepy eyes to look at the two. "Are you heading out?"
"Yeah. Come with us," Lin Yun said with a smile.
Fan Xian lazily got up from his bed while murmuring. "I didn't expect that I couldn't escape from exercise here."
The early morning air was crisp and refreshing, carrying with it the faint scent of dew and freshly cut grass. The sun had just begun to rise, casting a golden hue over the campus and painting the sky in soft shades of pink and orange.
Lin Yun, Li Shun, and Fan Xian made their way to the track field, their footsteps echoing softly against the quiet of the morning.
The track field was already alive with activity. Students of all shapes and sizes were jogging, stretching, and exercising, their breaths visible in the cool morning air.
Some were serious athletes, their movements precise and disciplined, while others were clearly there for the fun of it, laughing and chatting as they ran. A group of girls in colorful workout gear jogged past, their laughter ringing out like music.
Fan Xian's eyes immediately zeroed in on them, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Wow, look at that," he said, nudging Lin Yun with his elbow. "Campus life is definitely looking up."
Lin Yun chuckled, shaking his head. "Focus on the exercise. You're here to sweat, not to flirt."
"Why not both?" Fan Xian retorted, his grin widening. "Speaking of which, Brother Lin, do you have a girlfriend? With your looks and brains, I'm sure you've got girls lining up."
Lin Yun raised an eyebrow, amused. "No, I don't have a girlfriend. I've been a bit too busy for that."
Fan Xian looked genuinely surprised. "Seriously? How is that even possible? You're like the perfect guy—smart, handsome, successful. If I were you, I'd be drowning in dates."
Li Shun, who had been quietly listening, chimed in. "Maybe Brother Lin just hasn't found the right person yet."
Lin Yun smiled, appreciating Li Shun's attempt to defend him. "Something like that. Besides, there's plenty of time for that later. Right now, I'm focused on other things."
Fan Xian shrugged, clearly unconvinced. "Well, if you ever need tips on how to charm the ladies, just let me know. I've got plenty of experience."
Lin Yun laughed. "I'll keep that in mind."
They reached the track and began to stretch, loosening up their muscles before starting their run. Lin Yun's movements were smooth and practiced, a testament to the discipline he had cultivated over the past months.
Fan Xian, despite his playful demeanor, was clearly no slouch either, his muscular frame moving with ease. Li Shun, though less experienced, followed their lead, his determination evident in his focused expression.
"Alright," Fan Xian said, clapping his hands together. "Let's see what you've got, Brother Lin. I've been exercising daily since I was a kid, so don't expect me to go easy on you."
Lin Yun smirked. "We'll see about that."
With that, they set off, their feet pounding against the rubberized track in a steady rhythm. Lin Yun quickly settled into a comfortable pace, his breathing even and controlled.
Fan Xian, true to his word, started off strong, his long strides eating up the distance. Li Shun lagged slightly behind, but he kept up as best he could, his face a picture of determination.
As they ran, Lin Yun couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration. The cool morning air filled his lungs, and the rhythmic sound of his footsteps was almost meditative. It was a stark contrast to his past life, where he had rarely taken the time to enjoy such simple pleasures.
Back then, exercise had been just another item on his to-do list, something he did out of necessity rather than enjoyment. But now, it felt different. It felt freeing.
Fan Xian, who had been running slightly ahead, glanced back and was surprised to see Lin Yun keeping pace with ease. "Not bad, Brother Lin," he called out, a hint of admiration in his voice. "I didn't expect you to be so steady."
Lin Yun grinned. "There's a lot you don't know about me."
Fan Xian laughed, pushing himself to go a little faster. "We'll see how long you can keep up!"
The two of them picked up the pace, their competitive spirits kicking in. Li Shun, though struggling a bit, refused to give up, his determination driving him forward.
As they rounded the track, Lin Yun felt a surge of energy, his body responding effortlessly to the increased speed. It was as if his muscles had been waiting for this moment, eager to prove what they were capable of.
By the time they completed their third lap, Fan Xian was breathing heavily, his initial burst of energy starting to wane. Lin Yun, on the other hand, was still going strong, his breathing steady and his movements fluid. Fan Xian glanced at him, a look of genuine surprise on his face.
"Okay, I'll admit it," Fan Xian said between breaths. "You're in better shape than I thought. How do you do it?"
Lin Yun shrugged, slowing down to a jog. "I guess I just have good stamina."
Fan Xian shook his head, a grin spreading across his face. "You're full of surprises, Brother Lin. First QuickBooks, now this? What's next? Are you secretly a martial arts master too?"
Lin Yun laughed. "You'll have to wait and see."
Li Shun, who had finally caught up, was panting heavily but looked pleased with himself. "That was… harder than I thought," he said, wiping the sweat from his brow. "But it felt good."
"You did great, Li Shun," Lin Yun said, clapping him on the shoulder. "It's not about how fast you go; it's about pushing yourself and improving. You'll get better with time."
Li Shun nodded, a grateful smile on his face. "Thanks, Brother Lin. I'll keep at it."
"Let's go to the cafeteria," Fan Xian said, rubbing his stomach.
"Alright," Lin Yun and Li Shun naturally had no objection.
At this moment, a group of beautiful girls approached them.
"Hello. Are you Lin Yun, this year's top scorer?" the tall woman asked.
