Peverell Beach House, 9/7/1982, 10:57
Harry woke up pretty late this morning to the sound of retching coming from the ensuite.
The last week had been unbelievably peaceful, Tonks had started school on Friday and they hadn't had visitors since before the diner with the elder Blacks.
Harry had been spending a lot of time researching the small collection of dark arts books in his trunk trying to find a solution to his younger self's Horcrux problem.
Unfortunately, the situation was unprecedented as no one had ever split their soul more than once and there were no records of living Horcruxes being created.
He was starting to wonder if there was a ritual that could remove the soul shard, though if there was it would have to wait until little Harry's magic had started to mature or there was a possibility that it could damage his core.
He also needed to figure out what he was going to do for a living, he would go spare sitting around the house all day with nothing to do.
He was qualified to do quite a few things so it wouldn't be that difficult to find a career he liked. Though before he could apply for anything legitimate he would have to set up an appointment with the department of education so he could sit his O.W.L's and N.E.W.T's which would take at least three weeks to complete.
Then he had to figure out what he wanted to do, he had been an auror for almost a year and actually enjoyed the work. He also enjoyed ward breaking but he knew working for the goblins would be a nightmare.
On the other hand, he could make a killing as a mercenary, someone to do the dirty work for upstanding purebloods like he had been doing for Narcissa since he arrived in this timeline.
Harry heard the bathroom door open and Bellatrix exited the bathroom looking very pale, she wandered over to her nightstand and pulled out a vial filled with blue liquid before popping the cork and drinking it down quickly.
"Are you okay?" Harry asked sitting up and looking at her in concern.
"Yes, Cissa said that this wouldn't last very long," Bellatrix said her voice sounding a bit hoarse.
"Shouldn't we go by St. Mungos and get you checked out?" Harry asked curiously.
"No, not this early but I will set up an appointment before the wedding," Bellatrix said, the potion must be doing its thing because her colour was starting to return.
"How long have you been throwing up in the mornings?" Harry asked.
"Two weeks, Cissa said hers lasted for over a month and a half," Bellatrix said looking stricken at the thought.
"Oh bugger," Harry said getting an agreeing nod from Bellatrix.
"So what are we doing today?" Bellatrix asked as she started getting dressed.
"We have to meet with Sirius to see the Black property in France," Harry said as he headed into the bathroom.
"Oh Bella remembers the place, it's right on the sea," Bellatrix said excitedly.
Once he had emptied his bladder he stepped back in the room to find Bella wearing a set of robes that looked more like a summer dress, they were a deep purple and came down to midcalf.
"That looks nice," Harry said admiring her figure.
" Thank you, It is really hot in Nice and I would be miserable in my normal robes," Bellatrix said as she slipped on a pair of roman style sandals.
"Would it be okay with you if we get married there?" Harry asked as he began pulling on a pair of jeans.
"Yes, a French wedding would be very romantic. We can give the guests the boot after the reception and have our honeymoon there as well," Bellatrix said happily.
"Okay, but lets at least see the place before we make a decision," Harry said pulling on a tee shirt.
"Okay, did you know the women in France often sunbathe topless?" Bellatrix asked innocently.
"Huh," Harry said getting a dreamy look on his face at the thought of Bellatrix laying topless on the beach.
"Come on Harry I'm hungry," Bellatrix said dragging him back to the present.
"Alright what do you want to eat?" Harry asked following her down to the kitchen.
"How about bacon sandwiches?" Bella asked hopefully.
"Alright they'll be right up," Harry said with a grin as he made his way to the kitchen.
Bellatrix wandered out onto the deck leaving Harry to quickly whip them up some bacon sandwiches.
Ten minutes later Harry levitated a plate full of sandwiches and a jug of orange juice out onto the deck and set it gently on the table. Bellatrix snatched one up and took a large bite and groaned in appreciation.
Harry ate at a more sedate pace enjoying the extra crispy bacon and the buttery bread, he didn't usually like to brag but he thought that they turned out perfect.
"Where did you learn to cook?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
"I thought you already read my mind?" Harry asked curiously between bites of his second sandwich.
"I didn't go back any further than Hogwarts," Bellatrix admitted as she grabbed another sandwich.
"Oh, well I was raised by my Aunt Petunia and her husband, I had to cook their breakfast every morning though I rarely got to eat what I cooked," Harry explained before picking up another sandwich.
"You had to serve muggles?" Bellatrix asked incredulously.
"I did, though that ended when I got my Hogwarts letter," Harry said soothingly.
"That's despicable, where do they live?" Bellatrix asked innocently.
"Surrey, Please Just leave them be Bella," Harry said gently when he saw a familiar glint in her eye.
"Fine, but they should suffer for what they did," Bellatrix said petulantly
"They haven't done anything yet," Harry pointed out.
"Hmph," Bellatrix huffed.
Harry heard the 'woosh' of the floo and not long after Sirius stepped out onto the deck, he looked around before he took a seat at the table.
"Good morning," Sirius said cheerfully as he swiped the last sandwich off of the tray, much to Bellatrix's annoyance.
"Where is miny me at?" Harry asked in amusement.
"With Cissa, he's still too young to travel by portkey just yet," Sirius explained as he took a bite from his stolen sandwich.
"Huh, I didn't know that age mattered with portkeys," Harry said in surprise.
"Portkeys draw magic from whoever is using them," Bellatrix said after finishing her sandwich.
"Oh, are we ready to go?" Harry asked looking at Sirius.
"Yeah, I got the portkey right here but let's go down to the beach to activate it," Sirius said and then popped the last piece of his sandwich in his mouth, getting an irritated glare from Bella.
"I'll fix you a big lunch when we get back," Harry told Bella soothingly as he offered her his hand to help her up.
They followed Sirius down the steps towards the beach, the Marauder was whistling happily.
"Okay, I want spaghetti and meatballs. Bella will still be getting him back for stealing her food," Bellatrix said quietly, Harry noticed Sirius shiver unconsciously.
They walked out across the beach before coming to a stop, "this should be good, the portkey will return us within thirty feet of this spot," Sirius said pulling a large bronze skeleton key out of his pocket.
Harry could see how that could have been a problem if they had taken the portkey from the deck, that would have been a recipe for disaster.
Sirius lay it on his palm and offered his hand to Harry and Bellatrix, they both placed their index fingers on the key and Sirius said, "Black Villa."
Harry felt the uncomfortable pull behind his navel right before they were pulled into the familiar blue vortex.
Black Villa, Nice, France, 9/7/1982, 12:17
They all landed on soft white sand, for a second Harry thought they hadn't left until he looked out over the sea the water was almost sapphire blue and the waves were quite a bit calmer, it was much warmer here than the beach at Cornwall.
"Welcome to Black Villa," Sirius said grandly.
Turning around Harry noticed a large house a couple of hundred yards away, it was built on top of a small cliff, there was a set of stairs cut into the stone leading up to the house.
"This looks amazing," Harry said looking around apreciatively.
"Just wait until you see the house," Bellatrix said excitedly.
"In that case follow me," Sirius said leading them to the staircase cut into the cliff face.
The stairs reminded him of Hogwarts for some reason, they were cut deep into the cliff so there were stone walls on either side of them just like the staircases leading to the dungeons.
Once they reached the top of the stairs they stepped onto a large lawn and quickly made their way across to the villa.
The villa was two stories tall, the walls were constructed from a white stone, there were many large arched windows on both levels and Harry could see a large balcony facing the sea and could only assume it was part of the master bedroom.
The roof looked to be covered in grey terracotta tiles and there was no chimney but considering the climate here that made a lot of sense.
Large double glass doors were leading into the house and off to the right of the house was a covered patio with a large table and chairs so one could eat dinner outside.
"This looks nice," Harry said as he followed Sirius to the door.
"It's been in the Black family for centuries," Sirius said as he held the door open gesturing for them to step inside.
They stepped into a large sitting room with a dark leather wrap around couch, the large windows let sunlight shine onto the room. The floor was made out of some type of stone with speckles in it from smaller stones underneath its clear surface, it was polished to the point it was almost reflective.
The walls were plaster and painted a light blue, the room had an open feel to it.
"First things first I'll show you how the windows work," Sirius said as he walked over to the large arched window that went from floor to ceiling.
Sirius touched the edge of the window with his wand and the glass disappeared, he touched it again and the glass reappeared. He then went to the left side of the window and touched the jam and the window seemed to tint letting less light into the room.
"That's useful," Harry said impressed at the simple yet useful additions to the window.
"Yeah, and if you touch the jam at the bottom of the window it will shrink down," Sirius explained before demonstrating.
" Alright enough about windows, show him the kitchen so he can make me spaghetti," Bellatrix demanded.
"But you just ate," Sirius said in confusion.
"Yes, but I'm pregnant and you ate my bacon sandwich," Bellatrix exclaimed irritably.
"The kitchen hasn't been stocked so all we have here is the basics," Sirius said.
"We'll have to wait until we get back home," Harry told her soothingly rubbing his hand over the small of her back.
"Fine," Bellatrix pouted.
They took a quick tour of the house, the upstairs held bedrooms, there were ten smaller bedrooms plus the master.
Downstairs was pretty simple, besides the kitchen, there was a small library stocked with books about aquatic plants and a few other medical books that focused mainly on dealing with jellyfish stings and other seaside related injuries and a moderately sized dining room.
The kitchen was huge and had two stoves, a large wood oven, and about every type of cookware you could imagine hung from overhead racks. The room was covered from floor to ceiling in white tile and there was a large island in the center. There was also a small door to the right of the pantry that had assorted wines for cooking and a couple of racks of higher-end wines to drink.
There was a large cold box and a pantry but as Sirius had said all that was in there was rice, flour and serveral cans of vegetables.
"I was hoping he was lying," Bellatrix said when she opened the cold box and found it was completely empty.
"This place hasn't been used since the summer of seventy-eight when Cissa and her friends used the place for her hen party," Sirius explained.
"I never got a hen party," Bellatrix pouted.
"You didn't have any friends," Sirius pointed out in a cheerful tone.
"Alright let's head home," Harry spoke up quickly seeing Bellatrix starting to get annoyed.
"Right we can take the portkey straight from here," Sirius said offering them the portkey.
"Come on Bella, I'll make you some lunch," Harry said placing his finger on the key.
"Okay, Bellatrix said placing her own finger on the portkey.
" Return," Sirius said activating the portkey, Harry noticed that right after he felt the pull behind his navel Bellatrix kicked Sirius hard in the shin.
Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 9/7/1982, 12:30
They arrived pretty much exactly where they left from, Sirius dropped the key and scowled at Bellatrix.
"How can a sandal hurt that much?" Sirius demanded leaning down to rub his quickly bruising shin.
"There is a duro charm on the tip and a modified shield charm to protect my toes from getting stepped on," Bellatrix said smugly before she skipped off to the house.
"You brought that on yourself, do you want to stay for lunch?" Harry asked leading Sirius back towards the house.
"No, I have to pick Harry up, He has an appointment at St. Mungos to get his dragon pox and scrofungulus inoculations," Sirius replied.
"Oh, I never got those until I joined the grey cloaks good on you," Harry said slapping Sirius on the back.
"They didn't have the dragon pox one until a few years ago, I took it at the auror academy it tasted like goblin piss," Sirius said with a shudder.
Had a lot of experience with goblin piss have you?"Harry said with a smirk.
"Oh bugger off you're worse than James sometimes," Sirius said with a shake of his head.
"Thanks that means a lot," Harry said seriously.
"I still miss him, he was like my brother," Sirius said sadly.
"I might can help you out with that when my ring is finished," Harry said quietly.
"What, how?!" Sirius demanded.
"The capstone for my ring is the resurrection stone, if you go blabbing that around I will find a way to make you regret it?" Harry warned.
"Yeah mate mums the word," Sirius said quickly.
"Good, I'll let you know when it's ready if anyone deserves to see them one more time it's you," Harry said.
"What about you?"Sirius asked confused.
"I made peace with their death a long time ago," Harry said softly.
"Alright, I need to get going, thanks, Harry," Sirius said pulling him into a bear hug.
Sirius released him and disappeared with a soft 'pop'.
"I still don't understand why you like him," Bellatrix said from the doorway of the sitting room.
"He was one of the few adults in my life that gave a damn about me, that night your older self sent him through the veil he gave his life to protect me," Harry said as he lead her to the kitchen.
"You're not mad at Bella for that are you?" Bellatrix asked softly.
"No you didn't do it," Harry said with a shrug as he took out the ingredients to make the spaghetti and meatballs.
Diagon Alley, London, 9/12/1982, 14:37
Harry and Bella were just leaving Twilfit and Tattings getting fitted for their wedding robes, Harry had gone with a form fitting black robe with gold trim and a new pair of dragonhide boots, the robes were made out of acromantula silk and were going to be enchanted with cooling charms.
Bella refused to let him know anything about her robes saying that it would be a surprise, they were currently heading to Fortescue's to get ice cream.
"Cissa has volunteered to plan out the ceremony for us," Bellatrix said once they had taken their seats.
"That sounds like a lot for one person to do," Harry said in surprise.
"Oh Cissa lives for this kind of stuff and I'm sure she'll drag Roxanne and Ophelia in to help her," Bellatrix said with a shrug
"If you're okay with it then I'm not going to complain, I have no idea how to set up a wedding," Harry said before taking a bite of his ice cream sundae.
"Neither do I, my mother planned out my first wedding," Bellatrix admitted in between bites of her cone.
"So all that's left is the wedding bands," Harry said going over his mental checklist.
"Yes, though as far as pureblood society goes this ring could be considered a lady's ring," Bellatrix said while absentmindedly admiring the ring.
"But I don't have a lordship," Harry pointed out.
"You could still get one, the Peverell line went extinct before the Wizengamot was formed but they held a lordship under the muggle king," Bellatrix explained.
"Do I really need one, I hate politics?" Harry asked.
"No, I never found much interest in politics either that was always Andi's thing," Bellatrix answered.
"Guess that's why she became a solicitor," Harry said after finishing his ice cream.
After Bellatrix had finished her own they headed down the alley to Cutters Fine Jewellery and stepped inside causing the bell over the door to jingle merrily.
The store was filled with glass cases displaying beautiful jewellery, Harry speculated there were lighting charms inside the cases to make the gems sparkle.
"Ah Mr Peverell, I am glad you stopped by your ring is ready," The proprietor exclaimed.
"Excellent, we actually came here to get some wedding bands. This is my fiance Bellatrix Black," Harry said gesturing to Bellatrix who was looking around the shop with interest.
" It's a pleasure, my lady," Mr Cutter said with a bow of his head.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr Cutter, do you mind if I look around while you get Harry's ring sorted?" Bellatrix asked politely.
"Of course Miss Black," Mr Cutter said happily.
Bellatrix skipped over to a case that was full of chokers and began humming as she eyed the a choker with large emeralds set into it, Harry made a note of that for later.
Harry then followed Mr Cutter to the counter and watched the portly shopkeeper head to the backroom before coming out with a velvet cushion that had a large silver ring resting on top of it.
Harry tentatively picked it up and slipped it on his left index finger and watched the ring flash a gold colour before it resized itself to fit his finger.
The ring was actually quite simple in design, the only engraving on it was the words 'Dominus Mortis' engraved around the black resurrection stone.
"It looks great," Harry complimented the jeweller who was waiting for Harry's word.
"I'm glad you like it, I put the enchantments you requested on the band. It will not allow anyone but someone born of your line to wear it or face some rather nasty consequences," Mr Cutter said proudly.
"Excellent, were you able to tie it to my vault?" Harry asked curiously.
"I was indeed, you can use the ring to carry out large transactions just like a Wizengamot lords ring and after working with a contact of mine at Gringotts the goblins were able to enchant it to appear in your vault if it is ever stolen or lost," Mr Cutter explained happily.
"Were you able to do all of this for the price we agreed upon?" Harry asked watching Bellatrix out of the corner of his eye.
"On my end, yes The goblin's charged a fee for enchanting but that was beyond my control," Cutter answered nervously.
"I am very familiar with how the goblins operate," Harry said dismissively.
"Wonderful, now you said you were in the market for wedding bands?" Mr Cutter asked looking very relieved.
"Yes," Harry said as Bellatrix approached them.
Picking out their wedding bands didn't take very long, Bellatrix picked out a silver band with little purple diamonds set into its surface almost as soon as she saw the display case.
Harry just picked out a plain silver band that he liked, it was made out of the same silver as Bellatrix's only his had tiny emeralds set into its surface.
"Thank you for your business Mr Peverell," The proprietor said after Harry had paid for the three rings.
"Thank you, Mr Cutter, I am truly sorry about this," Harry said discreetly dropping his wand into his hand.
"Sorry about what?" Cutter asked in confusion.
"Obliviate," Harry said drawing his wand and hitting the shop owner in the head.
Harry watched as Mr Cutter's face went blank for a second before his features cleared and he spoke somewhat dazedly, " enjoy your wedding bands and have a nice day, sir."
Harry led an amused Bellatrix out of the shop and towards the apparition point, Harry could tell she was dying to ask questions so he figured it best to get her home before her patience wore out.
Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 9/12/1997, 14:31
"Why did you wipe his memory?" Bellatrix demanded as soon as they stepped out of the sitting room fireplace of their home.
Harry dusted himself off with his wand and plopped onto the sofa.
"The ring he made for me had one of the hallows in it, it was best for him not to remember that," Harry said as he kicked off his boots.
"So that ring Riddle made a Horcrux out of had the resurrection stone on it?" Bellatrix asked suddenly understanding.
"Yes, his line was descended from the second brother Cadmus, mine was descended from the third brother Ignotus," Harry explained.
"What about the first brother?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
"Antioch was murdered for the elder wand and died childless as far as my research has determined," Harry explained.
"And you're sure you don't want to collect the other two?" Bellatrix asked.
"No, the cloak is a Potter family heirloom and belongs to my younger self, the wand is with Albus Dumbledore," Harry said with a shrug.
"Oh, that would be very difficult to obtain," Bellatrix said with a wince.
"Dumbledore's not someone I want to cross wands with," Harry agreed.
"So I have a new game for us to play," Bellatrix said excitedly changing the subject.
"Really?" Harry asked with interest.
"Yes, it's from chapter eight in The Pureblood and the Concubine," Bellatrix said excitedly.
Malfoy Manor, 9/20/1982, 17:02
Harry stepped out of the fireplace at Malfoy Manor and waited for Bellatrix to step out next, they had been invited over this evening to finalize Narcissa's plans for the ceremony.
The last week had been very busy as Harry and Bellatrix discovered that Narcissa was a taskmaster and had been arriving every morning to get their opinions on flowers, decor, location, food, guests list, and all sorts of other fine details that Harry was out of his depth discussing.
If Harry was being honest with himself he wished they could have just eloped and not had to worry about all of this.
The wedding would be held at dusk on Halloween so Harry thought they still had a lot of time to prepare. Going by the urgency that Narcissa was planning everything out it wasn't nearly as much time as he thought it was.
The fireplace flared up and Bellatrix stepped gracefully out dressed in a dark purple set of dress robes.
'pop'
"Mr Pevy please follow Dobby," Dobby said after he appeared in front of them wearing a crisp white tea towel tied like a toga.
"Lead the way Dobby," Harry said with a polite smile.
Dobby led them to the formal dining room, Harry was surprised to see Andromeda and Cassiopeia seated at the table, Harry kept his confusion off of his face as he pulled out a seat for Bellatrix before taking a seat himself.
"Good evening, Harry," Narcissa said warmly.
"Good evening, it's good to see you all," Harry said hoping his curiosity didn't come out in his voice.
"Calm yourself Peverell, I am here because I have a task that I need taken care of and my niece has informed me you have a gift for dealing with problems," Cassiopeia said neutrally.
Harry threw an annoyed glare at Narcissa and got an innocent smile in return, then turned to Cassiopeia and sighed, " what is the job?"
"There is a certain Wizengamot member who has hired a werewolf pack to terrorize the area of the Balkans where one of the Black families ingredient storehouses is based. They have already harmed quite a few of the employees and have shut down productions so our clients in Europe are not getting their orders filled," Cassiopeia explained.
"Who is behind this?" Harry asked curiously.
"Lord Oswald Gamp, he has a rival supply company based out South America and is trying to elbow the Blacks out of the European market," Narcissa cut in.
"So you want me to kill him?" Harry asked hoping it was that simple.
"No, unfortunately, he can still be useful to us, I want you to send Lord Gamp the head of the pack alpha as a message," Cassiopeia said matter of factly
"Is the pack alpha Fenrir Greyback by any chance?" Harry asked already knowing the answer.
"It is, are you familiar with the beast?" Cassiopeia asked surprised.
"I am, he is a savage famous for going after women and children, he also worked for Riddle in the last war," Harry answered as food appeared on the table.
"Yes, the ICW has placed a twenty-five thousand galleon bounty on his head," Andromeda said speaking up for the first time.
"I'll look into it but if I agree I'll need an international portkey to the site for the first of October," Harry said thoughtfully.
"You're going to do it?" Bellatrix asked in surprise.
"Most likely, Greyback is a monster, I believe I can set something up for the next full moon," Harry answered after some thought.
"Fine, but if you widow me before we're even married I'll bring you back to life and kill you again," Bellatrix warned.
"You plan on killing him on the full moon?" Narcissa asked incredulously.
"That's the only time I'll know where he is going to be" Harry said with a shrug.
"The job pays fifty thousand galleons plus whatever rewards you earn," Cassiopeia said before Narcissa could reply.
"That sounds fair," Harry said before filling himself a plate.
"Please let me know if you decide to take the job, I will have your portkey ready," Cassiopeia said sounding pleased.
Harry ate his food quietly while the girls talked about wedding preparations and considered what he was going to do.
Greyback was a useful tool to Riddle so killing him was definitely a good thing even if the job was very high risk.
There was also the fact that Greyback was a werewolf so the wider wizarding world would have no problem with Harry killing him, hell they would probably throw him a parade.
Now he just had to figure out how if he was going to take the job, and if he dod take the job how he was going to kill a fully transformed werewolf on tbe full moon
'That could be tricky,' Harry thought as he took a bite of his soup and listened with half an ear as the Black sisters talked wedding plans.
