Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 9/22/1982, 15:45
Harry turned the page on the book he was reading, he had never dealt with a fully transformed werewolf before and was trying to figure out the best way of going about it.
Contrary to muggle lore, silver was not toxic to werewolves, silver was no more harmful to werewolves than any other metal. Silver dust combined with dittany was actually used to heal werewolf bites so the silver bullet idea was almost pointless.
He would be better off using a regular bullet as the softer metal of an FMJ round was far more accurate than a silver one, silver was a hard metal which made it difficult for the rifling of the barrel to spin the bullet properly.
If he used a firearm to kill Greyback he would have to go for a heart shot as the head had to remain intact for the message Cassiopeia wanted him to send.
He had an old Glock seventeen in his trunk but he knew he would need something with a bit more power to penetrate a werewolf's thick hide. So unless he wanted to track down a rifle he would likely have to think of another way to deal with a werewolf.
"Whatcha thinking about?" Bellatrix asked cutting into his thoughts.
"Dispatching a fully transformed werewolf," Harry said shutting the book he was reading.
"Cut off the head," Bellatrix said as if it were obvious.
"That could be a bit difficult, their hide is resistant to magic so a decapitation curse won't work," Harry said tiredly.
"What about with a sword?" Bellatrix suggested.
"That would work but I would have to get up close and personal with a werewolf," Harry pointed out.
"Hmmm, what about traps?" Bellatrix asked.
"It's an option," Harry agreed.
"Now I came here to let you know I have an appointment for the third at St. Mungos," Bellatrix said with a nervous smile.
"Oh, that's good news," Harry said standing up.
"Cissa said it was about time to have my first check up, but I am feeling nervous, about it" Bellatrix admitted.
"I'll go with you," Harry promised.
"Good, odds are my brother in law will be there and I might be tempted to prune the family tree if you aren't there to calm me," Bellatrix said with a smirk.
"Well we can't have that, are you hungry?" Harry asked.
"Starving," Bellatrix answered eagerly.
"Then let's go to the alley and have dinner," Harry said leading her out of the sitting room.
"Okay, I want Italian," Bellatrix said excitedly
"You've been craving that a lot lately," Harry said thoughtfully.
"I know, we can go somewhere else if you want," Bella offered
"No, Italian is fine I think I will order the stromboli this time," Harry said as they stepped out the front door.
"I want more alfredo," Bellatrix said excitedly as she grabbed his arm and Harry twisted on the spot.
Diagon Alley, London, 9/22/1982, 16:38
They arrived with a soft 'pop' at the apparition point and quickly made their way down the alley.
Harry was glad for the distraction as he had been driving himself mad thinking about a solution to his problem, traps seemed his best course of action as if would keep him safe, the last thing he wanted was to become a werewolf.
Harry thought the alley seemed a lot less packed but considering that Hogwarts was back in session that wasn't very surprising.
"Harry, Bellatrix what a pleasant surprise," Andromeda's voice called from across the alley.
Harry turned in that direction and saw Andy leading a pouting Tonks out of Flourish and Blotts, and making a beeline for them
"Andi and the little brat who wrecked my bedroom," Bellatrix said with a smirk.
"It's good to see you two out and about, where are you going?" Andromeda asked curiously.
"Harry is taking me to get Italian food," Bellatrix said happily.
"You two are welcome to join us," Harry offered making Bellatrix scowl behind his back.
"Oh that would be lovely," Andromeda said happily shooting a smirk at her sister.
"Can I have dessert?" Tonks asked hopefully.
"Absolutely not, you're still grounded," Andromeda said matter of factly.
"What did you do this time?" Harry asked.
"I punched Tommy Milkinson in the nose for making fun of my hair," Tonks said with a grin.
" And got herself sent home from school for fighting," Andromeda added.
"You should be ashamed of yourself, fighting like a muggle," Bellatrix said in disgust.
"I was in muggle school," Tonks defended hotly.
"That's no excuse," Bellatrix said dismissively.
"We're here," Harry said before Tonks could argue back.
"You shouldn't argue with your aunt," Andromeda chastised.
The four of them entered the restaurant and were shown to a table, Harry waited for the ladies were seated before taking his own seat.
After the waitress had taken their order Andromeda asked, " so Harry have you thought any more about Aunt Cassie's request?"
"Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out the logistics," Harry said before taking a sip of water.
"What about a rune trap?" Andromeda suggested.
"Hmm, that could be possible I will have to look into the area I am travelling to see if there is enough room," Harry said after some thought.
A rune trap was a large cluster of runes etched into the ground that was activated by a specific trigger, they were useful for trapping larger dangerous magical creatures and if space permitted it might just be the solution to his problem.
"So how have the wedding plans been going?" Andromeda asked curiously.
"They're a nightmare Cissa is becoming a monster with all these details," Bellatrix exclaimed as their food arrived.
"I'm sure she'll ease up soon you know how Cissa gets," Andromeda said before taking a bite of her manicotti.
"I had no idea there was so much that went into planning," Harry said with a shake of his head.
"Me and Ted had it easy, we had his mother plan everything but it wasn't near as high profile as your wedding will be," Andromeda said.
"High profile?" Harry asked in alarm.
"A daughter of the house of Black is marrying into a long thought extinct pureblood house. It is a high profile wedding so expect a large turnout especially since Cissa is the one planning it," Andromeda said with a knowing smirk.
"So we will make the paper?" Bellatrix asked.
"Yes, if I know Cissa she has invited every prominent pureblood family in Britain," Andromeda replied.
"Great, I knew we should have eloped," Harry said with a groan making Tonks giggle.
"Quiet Nymphadora, eat your spaghetti," Andi said distractedly.
"Oh I almost forgot, Sirius has entered into negotiations with Lord Bones," Andi said excitedly after a few minutes of silence.
"That was quick," Harry said before taking a bite of his stromboli.
"You and Bellatrix set the bar and Uncle Arcturus is putting pressure on him to sire an heir," Andromeda replied.
"Poor Bones, she could do much better," Bellatrix said with a shake of her head.
"I'm never getting married," Tonks exclaimed.
"With your manners I don't think you'll have to worry about suitors," Bellatrix said with a smirk.
"Be nice Bella," Harry said with a sigh.
"I am being nice," Bellatrix argued.
"What are suitors?" Tonks asked curiously.
"Men seeking your hand in marriage," Andromeda explained.
"Ew, I don't want suitors," Tonks protested.
"You will," Andromeda assured her.
The rest of diner passed smoothly and Harry paid the bill before leading them back out into the alley.
"Thanks for diner Harry, I should be seeing you both within the next week," Andromeda said before leading Tonks towards the Leaky Cauldron.
"I hope our daughter isn't as big a brat as Andi's," Bellatrix said as she led Harry towards the ice cream shop.
"Or son," Harry added with a chuckle.
"We're having a daughter," Bellatrix said matter of factly.
"How can you be sure?" Harry asked curiously.
"Bella just knows," Bellatrix said as they stepped into Florean's.
"If she's anything like you I'm going to have my hands full," Harry said only half-jokingly.
"I was a perfect angel as a child," Bellatrix argued.
"Right, what kind of ice cream do you want?" Harry asked not believingher for a second.
"A strawberry peanut butter cone," Bellatrix answered before wandering over to get them a seat.
Harry thought of the possibility of having a daughter just like Bellatrix, which could be a real headache or even worse they could have multiple children at once, Harry was starting to feel worried now as a mental image of the Weasley twins came to the forefront of his mind.
Harry brought their ice cream to the table Bella picked out and took a seat.
"You look worried," Bellatrix commented as she took a lick from her cone.
"You don't think we're having twins do you?" Harry asked seriously.
"How should I know, I've never been pregnant before," Bellatrix pointed out.
"Right, let's worry about that later on. I think Andromeda might have solved my problem about catching Greyback," Harry said changing the subject.
"You think the rune trap idea will work?" Bellatrix asked curiously.
"Yeah, I just have to find a way to lure him into it," Harry said.
"He attacks kids doesn't he?" Bellatrix asked.
"Yeah, he believes if he bites them young he can train them to hate normal wizards," Harry explained.
"So just use a muggle child as bait or better yet, use Andi's brat," Bellatrix said with relish.
"I am not using children as bait, but maybe there is another way," Harry said thoughtfully.
Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 9/24/1982,12:59
Harry finally figured out his course of action for the werewolf pack, he just hoped nothing went wrong.
Harry was currently making notes on a piece of parchment. The rune trap seemed like the best way to go and at the very least he would be able to use the trap to take out Greyback's pack which could help him out tremendously.
Fighting werewolves was always a dangerous endeavour because the wizard was at a severe disadvantage, all the werewolf had to do was land one bite and the battle was lost.
Still, there was one spell guaranteed to work if you could hit the werewolf with the spell of course.
They moved much faster than a wizard and could usually dodge spells with ease, so hitting a werewolf with a killing curse was not as easy as it sounded,
It looked like he would have to make a trip to the speciality store and pick up some stones to start carving the rune trap.
Currently, he had bigger problems like the invitation to Malfoy Manor this evening to discuss the wedding, most likely Cassiopeia was going to be there waiting for an answer.
Obviously he had decided to take the job but dealing with the elder Black woman always made him uncomfortable.
As for Narcissa, Harry was starting to dread meeting with her as the talks of wedding plans were driving him spare.
"Ah I see you're thinking about our appointment at Cissa's," Bellatrix said with a smile as she took a seat on the arm of his chair.
"Yeah, those robes look very nice on you by the way," Harry said admiring the roman style dark green toga she was wearing.
"Thank you," Bellatrix said happily.
"What's left to plan anyway?" Harry asked curiously.
"Bridesmaid dresses, you need a best man, and we have to train Andi's spawn to be a flower girl," Bellatrix listed off.
"Tonks as flower girl, she will hate that," Harry said with a grin.
"I hope so, she spilt all of my Morgana number nine," Bellatrix said with a scowl.
"I ordered you some more," Harry said soothingly.
"You did?" Bellatrix asked in surprise.
"I like how you smell when you wear it," Harry said with a shrug.
"We have an hour before dinner," Bellatrix said huskily as rubbed her leg against his.
"Yeah, we had best make the most of it," Harry said as he pulled her into his lap and captured her lips with his own.
Malfoy Manor, Wiltshire, 9/24/1982, 15:08
Harry stepped out of the fireplace and waited until Bella followed him out, then he dusted the ash off of both of them and they waited for Dobby to greet them. It didn't take very long before Dobby appeared and led them into the formal dining room.
Cassiopeia was seated in the same spot she was last time, tonight she was wearing an elegant set of Black robes and was sipping from a glass of blood red and looked to be waiting for them to arrive.
Narcissa was seated beside her wearing light blue acromantula silk robes and was currently fussing over Draco who was sitting in a highchair to her left.
"Good evening ladies, hello Draco," Harry said as he pulled Bellatrix's chair out for her.
"Harry, you look to be in a good mood, does my sister have anything to do with that?" Narcissa asked shrewdly.
"A lady never asks, and a gentleman never tells, Cissa," Harry said as he took his own seat.
"Quite right, now Harry have you thought about my request?" Cassiopeia asked primly though there was a hint of impatience in her voice.
"Yes, I will take the job," Harry said as bowls of soup appeared in front of them.
"Excellent, I have already arranged a portkey to the area two days before the full moon. You will have lodgings to stay in while you prepare and I will give you a return portkey as well," Cassiopeia replied sonding very pleased.
"That will work out well, the method I'm using will take time to set up," Harry said before taking a sip of his soup.
"So Harry have you decided on a best man?" Narcissa asked after wiping soup from Draco's chin.
"I suppose that I will ask Sirius," Harry said after some thought
"Damn, I should have guessed you would ask him" Bellatrix mumbled.
"I will make sure he behaves at the ceremony," Harry promised.
"Good luck," Narcissa said with a smirk.
"Well if he is the best man the speech should be interesting," Harry pointed out.
"If he embarrasses me I will castrate him," Bellatrix threatened.
"Very well let's put a pin in that, do you have any objections about Nymphadora as the flower girl?" Narcissa asked moving through her agenda for the evening.
"No, but I have a feeling she will," Harry said with a chuckle.
"All the more reason to make her do it," Bellatrix said with a grin.
"I only met the girl a few times but from what I can tell she is a clutz," Cassiopeia opined.
"Yes ma'am, she could trip on her own shadow," Harry said with a chuckle.
"I told you, Harry, it's just Cassie. There is no reason to make an old lady feel older," Cassiopeia chastised.
"You certainly don't look like an old lady," Harry said charmingly.
"Careful Harry, don't tease me. If I was twenty years younger I would be all over you," Cassiopeia said with a smirk.
"R-right, you have my apologies, Cassie," Harry said blushing slightly.
"Aunt Cassie, I don't share my toys," Bellatrix said sounding annoyed.
"Calm yourself dear, I am to old for such strenuous activity," Cassie said before taking a sip of her wine.
"I'm not," Narcissa muttered.
"Alright back to the wedding, I will ask Sirius tomorrow," Harry said getting back on task.
"I have already spoken with Andi and she has no problem with Nymphadora performing as flower girl," Narcissa added.
"What about the food for the ceremony?" Bellatrix asked.
"Light finger foods, we won't be serving dinner at the reception," Narcissa explained.
"Good, that way the guests will get the subtle hint and leave after the wedding," Harry said making Bella nod in agreement.
"I also took the liberty of getting you two a house elf," Narcissa said.
"Really?" Harry asked in surprise.
"Yes, Roxanne's elves had an elfling last summer and there is not enough work at the manor for another elf," Narcissa explained.
"That's wonderful," Bellatrix said looking pleased.
"Jangles," Narcissa said and there was a tiny 'pop' as a small male house-elf appeared wearing a light green tea towel tied like a toga.
"Harry, Bellatrix meet Jangles," Narcissa said happily.
"Hello Jangles," Harry said politely.
"Hello Master Harry," Jangles said excitedly as he approached Harry and placed his tiny hand on Harry's forearm.
Harry felt a sensation similar to electric shock travel through him as the eld bonded with him before Jangles placed his hand on Bellatrix's forearm and bonded with her as well.
"Please go to our home and get yourself settled in, do you know where it is?" Harry asked kindly.
"Yes master, Jangles knows," The little elf exclaimed before disappearing with a 'pop.'
"You'll have to bear with him at first they're always hyper when they're young," Narcissa said with a smile.
"Thank you Cissa, I'm sure he will fit in just fine," Harry said gratefully.
"He certainly will be a great help for when the baby comes," Bellatrix said happily.
"Yes, can you imagine having to change those nappies yourself?" Narcissa said with a shudder.
The rest of dinner went by smoothly, Harry let the women talk while he enjoyed a fine meal courtesy of Dobby.
Diagon Alley, London, 9/25/1982, 12:22
Harry was having a productive morning so far, he was able to find the enchanted stones he needed to carve the runestone for the trap for a decent price.
The best thing about these stones is he didn't have to charge them with magic they were already enchanted to draw magic from the environment around them.
He had also picked up a brand new carving set for under ten galleons and a speciality potion from a borderline illegal apothecary in Knockturn Alley.
The only order of business left was to meet up with Sirius and talk to him about the wedding.
Harry made his way to the sandwich shop that they had eaten at after the contract signing, he spotted Sirius sitting at a table outside and quickly made his way over and took a seat.
"You're late," Sirius said cheerfully.
"Sorry, it took a bit longer to get the rune stones than I thought, have you ordered yet?" Harry asked as he picked up a menu.
"No, I just got here I was late as well," Sirius said with a shrug.
"Good afternoon Mr Black what can I get for you?" The waitress asked from behind Harry.
"The French dip and chips," Sirius said.
"And you sir?" The waitress asked.
"The same and a Coke to drink," Harry said easily.
"So what is it you wanted to talk about?" Sirius asked as soon as the waitress left to fill their order.
"Straight to the point, huh?" Harry asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I have no time for pussyfooting about," Sirius said as the waitress brought their food over.
"I didn't order this," Sirius said looking at the coke dubiously.
"It's on the house," the waitress said before going back inside to help another customer.
"Try it, it really is something else," Harry encouraged.
Sirius tentatively brought the glass to his lips and took a swig, Harry chuckled when he saw the Marauder's reaction.
"Not bad, but it kind of burns my tongue," Sirius said.
"Yeah, I drank them every once in a while when I lived with the Dursley's, they were always my favourite," Harry said as he took a bite of his sandwich.
"Alright enough distraction what is it you wanted to talk about?" Sirius asked getting back to the matter at hand.
"Right, I wanted to ask you to be my best man for the wedding," Harry said nervously.
"And Bella is okay with that?" Sirius asked incredulously.
"Yeah, she knows your my godfather or was my godfather. Besides I don't really have friends in this timeline," Harry pointed out.
"I don't either to be honest, Remus is still a wreck and we don't get on that well without James and Wormtail as a buffer," Sirius admitted.
"So will you do it?" Harry asked trying to pull Sirius away from that depressing train of thought.
"Sure under one condition," Sirius said after some thought.
"Alright, what's the condition?" Harry asked warily.
"You let me through you a stag party," Sirius said with a smirk.
"Agreed, just bear in mind my fiancee is a very jealous woman who will do horrible things to us both if I do something stupid," Harry warned.
"Don't worry mate, you're under an infidelity clause you can't do anything stupid," Sirius said with a shrug.
"Alright then we have a deal," Harry said offering Sirius his hand.
"I'll see if I can drag a couple of my mates from the auror academy to round out the group," Sirius said thoughtfully shaking his hand enthusiastically.
"That would be great, maybe I can return the favour when you and Bones tie the knot," Harry said with a grin.
"If grandfather has his way that will be pretty soon," Sirius said looking pensive.
"That's what I've been hearing," Harry said sympathetically.
"Just count yourself lucky you already asked for Bella's hand before grandfather saw the tapestry otherwise you would have had what Lily called a shotgun wedding," Sirius said.
"I would love to stay a bit longer but I have a job to prepare for," Harry said after he finished his sandwich and took a galleon out of his pocket.
"Yeah me too, I'll let you know when I have the party set up," Sirius said as he stood from his seat.
"Just no strippers," Harry said as he got up as well.
"No promises," Sirius said as he twisted on the spot and disapparated away.
'I hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass,' Harry thought before he too disapparated.
Black Potion Supply Warehouses, Bulgaria, 10/2/1982, 23:57
Harry had spent the last two days here and he should have never worried about space, this area was massive.
The supply warehouses were each the size of aeroplane hangars the whole facility had been built in the middle of a large forest and Harry suspected there were spacial expansion wards over the whole complex.
A lot of the ingredients were collected from the nearby forest and processed on site, there were quite a few magical plants and animals in the forest so they had a small team that did nothing but collect ingredients.
Then there were other warehouses that housed exotic ingredients most of them were imported from other continents and stored here until they were needed.
Harry was kicking himself for purchasing basilisk venom now that he knew the Black's had a large supply of basilisk parts on site.
Harry had been welcomed by the small crew that was still running the facility, they didn't speak English very well but Harry was able to communicate what he needed after a little bit of trial and error.
He was also able to commandeer an empty warehouse that made the great hall of Hogwarts look like a broom closet in comparison.
Next, he had meticulously warded the warehouse with a spell he had gotten from a dragon handler's handbook that would prevent anything from coming in through the windows or any closed doors.
Then he had set up the rune trap inside of the warehouse, the rune trap formed a forty-foot diameter circle in the centre of the room. Harry had buried the runes stones for the trap three inched under the dirt floor of the warehouse and painted a marker so he knew when the wolves were in position.
The trigger was a separate runestone he kept in his pocket, all he had to do was hold the stone and say the passphrase. The trigger would instantly spring the trap and form an impenetrable dome over the circle of runestones that nothing but a dragon would be able to overpower.
There were other things tied into the trap that Harry could activate and easily subdue anything inside if necessary but he really only had interest in killing Greyback.
The final part of the trap was an animated dummy that was the size of an eight-year-old child with Weasley red hair, he had transfigured it out of a muggle store mannequin and sprayed it with a potion that was supposed to replicate the scent of human fear.
Harry had dressed the dummy in a plain white hooded robe, he could easily control it with his wand. Harry was actually impressed with how lifelike he could make the thing run, it would also scream in fear and sounded very realistic.
Bellatrix wasn't wrong about baiting the trap with a child, obviously he wouldn't use a real child so this was the next best thing.
Tonight was the night he was putting his plans into action, the other warehouses had been sealed up and the employees had left the area.
Harry had no idea how big Greyback's pack was for certain so he was still at a disadvantage even with all of the planning he had done.
Harry had made himself some special armour for tonight, his legs and arms were encased in metal plate armour, he had also crafted a special helmet that looked very similar to a death eater mask though it completely covered his head and neck, on his torso he had a standard dragon hide vest that attached to the metal armour, and wore his grey unspeakable robes over top.
The plate armour on his arms and legs severely reduced his mobility which is why at the moment he was on a broomstick hovering twenty feet over the ground in front of the entrance to the warehouse.
He had a slight stroke of luck and found an old SKS in one of the warehouses, the rifle should have more than enough power to punch through a werewolf's hide and could come in useful at putting Greyback down from a distance if necessary.
Harry was pulled from his musings as he heard the unmistakable howl of a werewolf coming from the forest to the east.
Hoooooooowwwooooooo!
Harry focused on the area he heard the call come from, it was still a good way off.
Harry's heart rate sped up as his adrenaline spiked, his plan was about to be put to the test.
Hoooooooowwwooooooo
The next call came from much closer and Harry prepared himself knowing they were almost at the compound.
Harry watched as a large brown wolf burst from the forest and was quickly followed by more than a dozen others.
Harry sat there and watched for a minute as they fanned out and began searching the property for prey, Harry couldn't spot Greyback but knew he would be close by.
Deciding it was time to begin rounding the pack up, Harry raised his wand and activated the bait.
Down below an awful commotion was heard as a steel garbage bin that was sitting by the northern warehouse was knocked over as a redheaded boy crawled out from his hiding place and ran towards the open warehouse door screaming.
"MUM HELP, WEREWOLVES!"
Harry watched as the wolves heard the commotion and began running towards the sound of the frightened child, Harry flew overhead and followed his bait as it entered the warehouse through the massive doorway that led into the cathedral sized room, it was lit up by a massive lumos solem charm Harry had cast earlier so he could see everything
The dummy ran across rhe room as Harry guided it to the centre of the runic circle and stopped, Harry watched as werewolves poured in through the door and converged on the dummy completely surrounding what they thought was a young frightened child.
Suddenly the large brown wolf howled and the pack surged forward from all directions, the brown wolf slammed into the dummy first taking it to the floor.
Harry waited until the last of the wolves crossed the circle before he took the trigger rune out of his pocket and whispered, " Gotcha."
There was the sound of a gong as a golden dome sprung up from the circle drawn on the floor, as the wall of golden energy completely surrounded the wolf pack.
Harry continued to hover there as the dummy was torn to pieces by the wolf pack, they soon realised the dummy was fake and turned to try and leave only to slam face first into the solid barrier.
Suddenly the warehouse was filled with the wolves howling in distress as they realized they were trapped inside the dome.
Harry turned on the spot and flew back out of the building flicking his wand behind him and slamming the massive doors to the warehouse shut behind him and activating the secondary wards.
Harry began flying over the property searching out his primary target, the sounds of the pack calling for help echoed across the property and would surely draw him in.
Harry thought he saw movement on the ground below him but by the time he looked, there was nothing there.
He kept making wide circles over the property flying low to the ground, when suddenly he heard a sound to his right just before something slammed into his side with the force of a charging bull and sent him tumbling to the ground hard, he slamed into the dirt with enough to make him see stars.
Harry rolled to the right just in time to avoid a massive wolf the size of a bear slamming into the ground where he had just been laying though his robes were not so lucky the left side was shredded by the beast's razor sharp claws like tissue paper.
Harry rolled to his feet and drew his wand right as the Greyback leapt at him, without thought he cast an expulso at the advancing beast. The spell knocked the wolf of course and sent it tumbling across the ground but otherwise didn't seem to damage it very much.
Harry quickly unslung the rifle from his back and flipped the safety release before taking aim, Greyback was already charging towards him again.
"crack' 'crack' 'crack' 'crack' 'crack'
Harry fired five shots rapidly the flash from the muzzle break lighting the area, he had aimed for Greyback's upper chest region.
The gunshots seemed to piss Greyback off more than anything else as the wolf kept coming even though Harry could tell he hit his target at least three times near the centre of his chest spraying blood into the air and making the wolf howl in rage.
Harry never got to fire a sixth shot as Greyback reached him and clamped his powerful jaws around Harry's left forearm crushing the gauntlet he was wearing and the bones of his arm underneath, Harry was forced to release the rifle as he began punching Greyback's snout with his right fist in a futile attempt to free his other arm.
Greyback shook his head violently from side to side pulling his arm quite painfully out of its socket, Harry could feel the muscles and tendons in his shoulder being torn and screamed out.
Greyback released the hold on his arm as one of the spikes on the gauntlet pierced the roof of his mouth covering Harry's arm in blood as the wolf yelped in pain.
Harry fell to the ground when Greyback released him and hastily unsheathed the dagger lashed to his right thigh as the werewolf leapt at his prone form again.
Grayback landed over top of him and Harry thrust the dagger upward into one of the open gunshot wounds and twisted the blade causing the werewolf to recoil back from him ripping the blade from his chest.
Greyback stood there staring at him for a moment his teeth bared and foam running over his lips before the massive beast collapsed to the ground whining piteously as the basilisk venom rapidly shut down his internal organs.
Harry just lay there breathing heavily as the wolf went quiet, he had never felt pain like his in his life. His left arm was in agony as the steel from the armour was bent inward pinching the badly broken bones of his forearm. Then there was the tearing pain in his shoulder, as the adrenaline was leaving his body the pain was quickly becoming debilitating.
Harry shakily put the dagger back in its sheath and tried to focus on the only wandless spell he had mastered, even then the pain was so intense it took three tries before he could summon his wand to his hand from where he had dropped it.
When he finally felt his wand fly into his hand he took a few calming breaths before pointing it at the section of his gauntlet that was crushed around his arm and muttered "reparo."
The metal popped back out releasing the pressure on his arm, the movement of the metal caused his arm to move slightly and intensified the pain he felt tenfold.
Knowing he couldn't do any healing spells until he got the gauntlet off, Harry grit his teeth and summoned his broomstick to him making it hover over him. He reached up and grabbed it with his right hand pulling himself into a sitting position and sending even more pain through his left shoulder.
The process of removing his left gauntlet was slow and excruciating as he had to reach across his body with his right arm sending ripples of pain through his left shoulder every time he moved a muscle.
The gauntlet fastened in three places, the steel glove came off easily enough, he was surprised to see his fingers had started to turn a purplish-blue.
Next, there was the section over his forearm, to remove it he had to twist to the left unlocking it from the elbow joint and the section covering his bicep. The forearm section was still badly warped and took a few more repairing charms before he could get it to come free.
Then he had to remove his helmet and neck guard so he could unhook the coupler that attached the final piece of armour over his bicep that was attached to his dragon hide vest.
By the time his arm was free he was barely conscious, when he cast the spell to pop his arm back into its socket he had tears running down his cheek as he screamed ot in agony.
The bones in his forearm were crushed beyond repair, the armour had done its job and protected him from being bitten but it was nowhere strong enough to withstand that much bite force.
Using the bone removal spell he vanished the bones in his forearm and was rewarded with the agonizing pain abating quite a bit.
Sighing in relief he dug into the inner pocket of what remained of his robes and removed his potion kit, he set it on the ground before resizing it.
It took him a few minutes of fumbling around before he found a single dose of skeli-grow and downed it in one, coughing violently as the caustic potion burnt his throat on the way down.
There wasn't much else he could do right now, the skeli-grow would take hours to regrow the bones in his forearm so he cast a spell to immobilize the arm.
First aid done for the moment Harry used the broomstick still hovering near his head to pull himself to his feet. Pain radiated through his entire body when he tried to walk and he favoured his right leg no doubt an injury from the twenty-foot fall from his broom.
Harry slowly staggered over to the downed form of Greyback still in his wolf form and conjured a hacksaw, placing it against Grey back's neck Harry animated it to saw back and forth on its own, Harry stood there watching in fascination as the saw slowly removed the beast's head.
He had to remove it before morning otherwise it would change back and the message he would be delivering to Lord Gamp wouldn't be near as powerful.
As soon as the head fell free of the body Harry hit it with a special stasis charm and left it lying on the ground He could feel the familiar sensation of large splinters in his arm and every once in a while would wince in pain as the bones were growing inside his arm.
Flicking his wand again he conjured a large overstuffed armchair and tenderly took a seat.
Harry leaned back and closed his eyes trying to ignore the twinges of pain shooting through his arm.
'That definitely could have gone better,' Harry thought as he dosed into a light sleep.
Harry jerked awake as he heard the familiar sound of apparation, judging from tbe quality of the light it was right around dawn. His forearm felt fine if a bit stiff and he touched it with the tip of his wand lifting the spell that had immobilized it and tenderly lifted it.
Pain shot through his shoulder from the torn ligaments he didn't know how to repair but the broken bones were healed at least.
Slowly he got to his feet and started gathering his possessions, his potions kit was still open on the ground, his broom was still hovering beside his chair, and pieces of his armour were scattered around where he had fallen.
He quickly shrunk everything, smmoned ot and slipped it into his pockets before hobbling over to Greyback's corpse.
The body had turned back to human form, there were holes in the chest big enough for him to stick his middle finger in, laying near the body was the large head of a werewolf.
Harry leaned down and conjured a wooden box big enough for the head and quickly dropped it inside.
Harry was tempted to take the rifle still laying in the dirt but realized he didn't have much use for it.
"Mr. Peverell," Hans the one in charge of the site asked asked in heavily accented English.
"I was successful, his pack is contained in the warehouse," Harry said digging the rune trigger out of his pocket and handing it to Hans, "The unlock phrase is release," Harry explained.
"Is That Greyback?" Hans asked pointing to the headless body.
"Yes, he didn't go down easy," Harry said as he dug into his pocket for his portkey.
"We will deal with the rest of the pack, thank you for your help," Hans said looking quite pleased.
"I have to go thank you for your assistance," Harry said as he activated the portkey and felt the familiar pull behind his navel.
Gamp Townhouse, London, 8/3/1982, 03:39
Harry appeared in front of the Gamp townhouse in Upper London and slowly made his way up the front steps. Tapping the doorknob with his wand he pushed the front door open.
He had already scouted the place out last week since delivering the message was the whole point of the job he had to know how to get in and out of the home.
The thing that astounded him about Lord Gamp was that there were absolutely no wards over the property. Lord Gamp was so arrogant that he believed himself untouchable and didn't bother warding his townhome.
Harry took out his wand and touched himself on the head casting a strong disillusionment charm over herself before making his way into the house.
Harry stalked through the entry hall and up the stairs having to concentrate much harder than usual to stay quiet, he was still in quite a lot of pain.
Finally, he made it to Lord Gamps room and slipped inside, the man was a widower and didn't have any house-elves here making this part much easier than it should have been.
Harry snuck to the other side of the bed and raised the covers being careful not to wake the old man who was snoring loudly.
Harry carefully placed the head and a letter Cassie had given him onto this side of the bed and pulled the covers over them, hopefully this would get Cassie's message across quite well.
The trip through the house was much quicker and he soon stepped back out onto the dark London street his mission complete.
The mission hadn't gone as planned but he had accomplished his goal, now it was time to get home, he had to take Bella to St. Mungos this afternoon and he made get looked at himself.
'What a night,' Harry thought tiredly as he twisted on the spot and disapparated home.
