Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Chasing Wild Geese

Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 11/28/1982, 09:36

Harry stated in shock at this morning's edition of the Daily Prophet feeling very alarmed at the headline.

Bartemius Crouch Found Dead at Home

Harry read the article and felt a chill run down his spine, the Crouch family elf was found dead with signs of a piercing hex on her body. The lab reports weren't back yet but the aurors strongly suspected that Crouch Sr was killed by the avada kedavra curse.

This was bad, he had thought he would have more time before he had to deal with Crouch. Now it looked like he would have to track the crazy bastard down before he found Voldemort, the last thing they needed was for him to be brought back this early.

This really sucked because just yesterday he had received his N.E.W.T results and was planning to reach out to Newt Scamander about the basilisk in the next few days.

"Buggering fucking Hell!" Harry exclaimed irritably throwing the paper at the table in annoyance.

"What's got your wand in a knot?" Bella asked as she walked into the kitchen still wearing her nightgown.

"Crouch Jr killed his father the other day and is most likely on his way to Voldemort," Harry sighed rubbing his temples to ease the headache that he could feel starting to build.

"It will take him a while to get there," Bellatrix said trying to assure him.

"Get where?" Harry asked in confusion.

"Albania," Bellatrix answered.

"How do you know he's in Albania?" Harry asked in surprise.

"Frank told us the night we attacked Longbottom Hall," Bellatrix replied as if it were obvious.

"How could he have known?" Harry asked.

"He said Dumbledore suspected the Dark Lord was hiding there," Bellatrix shrugged.

"I'm going to have to catch the little worm before he gets there," Harry sighed pushing his half-finished breakfast away.

"How are you going to do that, he has a large headstart?" Bellatrix asked.

"I can be in Albania in three hours while it will take him a week to apparition hop there," Harry shrugged.

"It will take days to get approved for an international portkey," Bellatrix argued.

"I'll fly there by aeroplane" Harry grinned.

"Isn't that dangerous?" Bellatrix asked looking concerned.

"Not really, I should be able to beat him there, all of those International wards between here and Albania should really slow him down," Harry said as he got up from the table.

"Are you leaving now?" Bellatrix asked in surprise.

"This afternoon most likely, I might have to drag my idiot godfather along for the ride," Harry said thoughtfully.

"What about Bella?" Bellatrix protested.

"You're pregnant, I don't want you catching a stray curse and the babies getting hurt," Harry said flatly.

"They will pay for this, there will be no dark arts lessons until you two are thirteen," Bellatrix said looking at her stomach sternly.

"You'll never be able to hold off that long" Harry chuckled.

"Hmm, you're probably right," Bella agreed.

"I won't be gone very long," Harry promised.

"You had better not come back on deaths door like last time," Bellatrix warned.

"I will try not to," Harry said as he sent a patonus off to Sirius.

"What about Harry?" Bellatrix asked.

"I thought you might want to watch him, it should give you some practice with children," Harry grinned.

"What?!" Bellatrx protested looking surprised.

"He won't be that bad" Harry assured her.

"I will watch him under one condition", Bella said after some thought.

" What's that?" Harry asked warily.

"You promise not to go running off like this again," Bellatrix said seriously.

"Okay, truthfully I wish I didn't have to go this time," Harry admitted as the fireplace flared and Sirius stepped out holding Harry.

"What's the emergency?" Sirius asked looking worried.

"Have you read the paper?" Harry asked as Sirius set his younger self on the floor.

"Yeah, somebody killed Crouch what about it?" Sirius asked looking nonplussed.

"Crouch Jr killed him and is on his way to his master as we speak, you and I are going hunting," Harry said matter of factly.

"Crouch Jr is dead," Sirius said looking if possible even more confused.

"No, Crouch's mother is dead, her corpse was Polyjuiced to look like her son's," Harry corrected.

"Alright, what about Harry?" Sirius asked.

"Bellatrix has agreed to watch him," Harry said gesturing to his wife who was talking to little Harry.

"Is that wise?" Sirius asked looking unsure.

"There is no one safer to watch over him, I pity whoever tries to harm him under her watch," Harry said confidently.

"Does she know how to handle children?" Sirius asked.

"She'll be fine, I would trust her with my life," Harry smirked at the unintentional double meaning.

"Alright, how are we going to catch Crouch?" Sirius asked.

"We are hopefully going to beat him to his destination," Harry explained.

"Where is that?" Sirius asked.

"A desolate forest in Albania," Harry answered as he led Sirius up to his room and opened his trunk.

Harry dug out the only two unspeakable robes he had and tossed one set to Sirius. Then he dug out his dragonhide armour, a wizarding tent, the dagger impregnated with basilisk venom and the old gen two Glock seventeen and placed them in a leather sack before shrinking the sack down to the size of a coin purse and putting it in his pocket.

Reaching back in the trunk he grabbed a small stack of pounds and the comet broomstick and shut the lid before looking at Sirius.

"We can not be seen, when we get to the location we will wear the robes cowls up at all times we are in the open," Harry instructed as he shrank the broom and pocketed the broom and the cash.

"Alright, I got it," Sirius said conjuring a sack and putting the robes in them before shrinking it as Harry had done.

"Then let's get out of here," Harry said leading him back downstairs.

Harry walked into the sitting room to find Bellatrix seated on the couch with little Harry seated beside her chatting away happily.

"I'll be back soon," Harry said leaning down and kissing her on the lips.

"Hurry back," Bellatrix whispered after he pulled back.

"I will," Harry assured her.

Harry waited for Sirius to have a word with Bella and Harry before they made their way out of the house and apparated away to the airport.

Tirana, Albania, 11/28/1982, 14:35

Harry and Sirius stepped out of the airport and made their way down tbe sidewalk.

"Do you have an exact location?" Sirius asked curiously as they weaved through people entering the building.

"Yes, Dumbledore has known about Voldy's travels here since the sixties, some of the first giants he used in the last war came from the area we're heading to now," Harry explained as he led Sirius towards the parking lot.

They weaved between parked cars until Harry spotted two panel-vans parked close together and started walking towards them.

"If Dumbledore knows where he is why hasn't he done something about him?" Sirius asked confused.

"That fucking prophecy, he's putting all of his cards on little Harry defeating Voldemort," Harry said as they stepped between the vans.

"Alright get your robes on," Harry said as he started changing into his gear, strapping on his dragonhide vest, bracers, trousers, and boots.

The bracer doubled as a forearm wand holster, he clipped the dagger onto his belt and slipped the pistol into a holster sewn on under the left armhole of his vest before draping his Grey-hooded robes over himself and flipping his hood over his head.

"How come you get all the armour and weapons?" Sirius demanded from under his hood.

"Because I brought you along for a very specific reason," Harry smirked not that Sirius could see.

"What is that?" Sirius pressed.

"Padfoot's nose," Harry said as he grabbed Sirius' arm and spun on the spot.

Lura-Dejes Mt National Park, Albania, 11/28/1982, 17:25

Harry and Sirius appeared with a soft pop in the middle of a dense forest consisting mostly of fir trees from the looks of it. There was a large mountain range in the distance and the sun was already starting to set.

The ara was covered in a few inches of snow and they could both see their breath in the air.

"You could have warned me you wanker," Sirius grumbled still disoriented from the surprise apparition.

"Yeah, my bad but us changing into our business wear should have clued you in," Harry quipped as he took out his wand and muttered point me.

"Alright, Barty will be coming in from the west, there is a cave at the foot of the mountains that Voldemort's wrath is haunting," Harry explained as he started walking through the trees.

"Where are we going?" Sirius asked in confusion.

"To find a place to set up camp, I'll survey the area tomorrow from my broom," Harry said as he found a decent spot in a copse of trees that blocked the wind on two sides and took out the pouch from his pocket.

Twenty minutes later they were walking into the tent and taking off their grey robes.

The tent was basic as far as wizarding tents went, it was about twenty feet by twenty feet on the inside and more than enough for two people.

It had an open floor plan with a stove, a table, a dry and cold pantry in one corner making up the kitchen. There was a small sitting area with a functioning fireplace in the middle with a couple of armchairs and a set of bunk beds up against the far wall.

There was a small tent flap that led to a tiny bathroom with a sink, loo, and a cramped walk-in shower. The tent would be more than comfortable for a few days.

"What's for dinner?" Sirius asked expectantly as his stomach growled.

"What are you cooking?" Harry countered knowing he would end up having to fix dinner.

"I can boil a mean pot of water," Sirius offered half-heartedly.

"Fucking purebloods, I'll make us some beef stew," Harry sighed as he made his way to the cold pantry.

The pantries kept the food under stasis and were both well stocked, after living seven months in a tent during his seventh year he vowed never to be stuck eating wild mushrooms out of a tin can again.

Harry had a medium-sized pot of thick beef stew ready in ten minutes, they both sat at the small table and dug in washing it down with ice-cold butterbeer.

"So, Crouch killing his father didn't happen in your timeline did it?" Sirius asked between bites of food.

"No, well not this early, he did kill his father," Harry corrected.

"So something happened to speed that up," Sirius stated through a spoonful of stew.

"Yeah, me coming back in time changed something," Harry said thoughtfully.

"Oh," Sirius said.

"It doesn't really matter right now, we just have to catch him," Harry shrugged.

"I've fought him before, he's bloody dangerous with a wand," Sirius warned.

"I know, he's a psycho," Harry agreed.

"Pretty much," Sirius agreed before he reached over and ladled more stew in his bowl.

"I don't plan on confronting him head-on," Harry pointed out.

"Good, I like a fight as much as the next guy but he likes to throw killing curses... a lot," Sirius said looking relieved.

"I am trained to kill my targets, not to give them a chance to fight back," Harry explained refilling his own bowl.

"Well if you ever decide you want another career you could open a restaurant," Sirius said with a grin.

"Thanks, I don't know if I would like to cook constantly," Harry grinned as he finished his second bowl and belched loudly making Sirius snort.

"Bet you can't do that very often," Sirius smirked.

"No, Bella wouldn't appreciate it," Harry agreed.

The two of them turned in not long after Harry already missing his soft cushy bed cuddled up to his wife as he climbed into the lumpy bunk bed.

'I hope this doesn't take too long,' Harry thought as he drifted into a light sleep.

Hogwarts Head's Office, Scotland, 12/1/1982, 21:37

... Thank you for telling me this, Auror Armend," Dumbledore said politely as the floo connection ended.

This was troubling news, he had just been on his way back from dinner when he had gotten an urgent call from his contact in the Albanian ministry.

The area Tom was most likely hiding in was being monitored very closely not just by him but by his contacts in the Albanian ministry as well.

There wasn't much that could be done about Tom for years down the road yet. So Albus had decided it best to let him think he was hidden safe away from other people and make sure that he was kept away from other people.

Now he was pondering the news he had just received, three magicals had entered that forest in the last few days.

Two magicals had arrived a few days ago and seemed to be searching for something, another had arrived this afternoon and was slowly making his way to the centre of the forest.

It seemed Voldemort's servants were searching for him much earlier than Albus had wished.

He really had no choice, he would prefer to let someone else handle this but he didn't have time to wait. Albus would have to make the journey to Albania and ensure Voldemort did not receive aid.

That wasn't the only troubling news he had received lately, yesterday he got a surprise call from Florean Fortescue.

Florean had informed him that Bellatrix Peverell had visited his shop yesterday in the company of a toddler, Florean was quite surprised to learn that the toddler was actually young Harry Potter.

Albus felt a chill run down his spine when he heard this, the woman had been Voldemort's right hand and was now out alone with the boy-who-lived. Albus already knew that Harry would be very different than he expected.

Now he was wondering how much different, would young Harry be raised like the other Blacks who were prejudiced against anyone not of pureblood.

That was a problem for another day, right now he had to prepare for his journey. Unfortunately, he had matters that he needed to attend to before he could depart.

There was an emergency Wizengamot session scheduled for tomorrow morning and he was required to attend to oversee the appointment of a new head of the DMLE.

He had hoped after Tom was vanquished he would get a break from these types of situations, he was getting too old for this nonsense.

Popping a lemon drop into his mouth Albus stood from his desk to prepare for his trip to Albania.

Peverell Beach House, 12/2/1982, 20:32

Bellatrix grinned as she flicked her wand turning off the light to the guest room little Harry was using while he stayed with her.

Truthfully she was enjoying her time with the two-year-old version of her husband, he was well behaved and always interested in what she had to say.

She had received a patronus yesterday evening from Harry assuring her that they had made it to Albania and were going to begin the search in the morning. She hadn't heard anything from him since but she wasn't concerned. Harry knew what he was doing and he even had the forethought to bring her idiot cousin along with him.

As much as Sirius got on her nerves she knew from first hand experience that Sirius was very competent with a wand, not on her level but still very good.

After watching little Harry for the last few days she was getting excited for her own babies to arrive, though she didn't like how she was starting to put on weight right now.

'Ugh, these pregnancy mood swings are driving her mad,' Bellatrix thought tiredly as she headed down the stairs towards the sitting room to read more of The Maiden and the Werewolf.

She had just stepped back down into the sitting room when the fireplace flared green and a worried Narcissa stepped gracefully into the room.

"Cissa," Bellatrix said dangerously.

"Bella, Sirius and Harry have gone missing," Narcissa said sounding concerned.

"No they haven't, Harry is upstairs and Sirius is with Harry on a job abroad," Bella said exasperatedly.

"But they were supposed to come over for dinner tonight," Narcissa said looking annoyed.

"Something important came up a few days ago, now you can go," Bella said irritably.

"I'm sorry Bella, I didn't mean to hurt you by trying to force Sirius to authorise the rite," Narcissa said looking at her sister pleadingly.

"I am not as mad about what you tried to do as I am about you and Andi conspiring behind Bella's back while helping me plan my wedding," Bellatrix said her eyes locked onto her sisters.

"I know and I am really sorry, me and Andi both are," Narcissa implored.

"I'll forgive you... eventually but for now just leave me alone," Bella said tiredly.

"So you don't want to know how Ted reacted when Andromeda told him of the plan we cooked up?" Narcissa asked with a knowing look

"Oh, I bet the little mudblood threw a tantrum!" Bellatrix said excitedly forgetting about her anger.

"Oh it was epic, she had to send little Nymphadora to stay with me for the night and from what I heard they are still arguing," Narcissa explained looking highly amused.

"Serves her right," Bellatrix said happily.

"Where did Harry and Sirius go off to?" Narcissa asked taking a seat on the sofa.

"Albania, they are trying to track down Barty Crouch Jr," Bellatrix answered taking her own seat.

"I thought he died?" Narcissa asked curiously.

"No, his father snuck him out, Harry thinks he killed his father and is off to return the dark lord to power," Bella sighed.

"And Sirius left Harry with you?" Cissa asked in surprise.

"Harry thinks I need to spend time with a child to prepare me for our children," Bella said rubbing her babby bump that was just starting to show through her nightgown.

"He's not wrong, children can be very trying especially the first few months," Narcissa said.

"Yes, I remember when you were born, you wailed around the clock," Bella grumbled.

"Yes, well I imagine two babies will be much worse," Narcissa pointed out.

"Harry is starting to get excited about the babies," Bellatrix admitted with a soft smile playing on her lips.

"He is good with children, Nymphadora loves him," Narcissa commented.

"She's a little brat, our baby will be perfect angels," Bellatrix argued in her little girl voice.

"Of course, they will," Narcissa said patronizingly.

"They will," Bellatrix stated firmly

"Of course, I need to go check on Draco, I left him with Dobby. Please come over for dinner when Harry and Sirius return," Narcissa offered.

"I'll think about it, good night Narcissa," Bellatrix said before her sister disappeared in a flash of green flame.

It took Bella a few minutes to realize that Narcissa had tricked her into the conversation, she had been set to give her the same treatment she had given Andromeda a few weeks ago.

Narcissa was always very good at this, it was impossible to stay mad at her.

She swore to herself that she wouldn't fall for Cissa's tricks again,

'Cissatrix, that's a funny name,' Bellatrix thought in amusement as she decided to turn in for the night.

Bellatrix was woken up a few hours later by little Harry tapping her shoulder, tears were running down his face.

"W-what is it?" Bellatrix asked groggily.

"I had a scary dream, can I sleep in your bed?" he asked softly.

"Yes, but don't hog Bella's covers," she warned as he climbed under the covers in front of her and she wrapped her arms around her snuggling him close to her.

"Bella was almost certain that her son would look very much like the little boy she was holding, she distinctly remembered that her Harry favoured James Potter quite a bit.

Bella held him to her as he drifted to sleep, it didn't take long before she too drifted back into dreamland.

Lura-Dejes Mt National Park, Albania, 12/2/1982, 10:25

Harry flew long circles over the landscape, he had to admit this area was gorgeous, there were large glacial lakes with clear water and the mountains were blanketed in a few inches of snow, there were large meadows and abundant wildlife.

He wondered if that was part of the appeal to Voldemort, the area had a certain majesty to it that Harry could appreciate even if this was such a serious mission.

"I thought I saw something to the left," Sirius said from behind him pulling him back to the task at hand.

Nodding Harry veered to the left making slow circles as he scanned through the trees below.

Harry saw it for a split second, a human form moving through the trees completely oblivious to them flying overhead.

They were both disillusioned and flying just over the tops of the trees so it would be difficult for someone to spot them unless they were specifically looking for invisible flyers.

"You're right, and whoever it is is seems to be heading for the foot of the mountains," Harry whispered as he continued to make large circles moving with his target.

Every so often they would catch glimpses through gaps in the trees, Harry saw the person was wearing black wizard-style robes and he could make out straw-coloured hair when the man passed through a larger gap in the canopy.

"I am fairly certain that's him," Harry whispered as he flew towards a clearing about a mile away and touched down and hopped off the broom.

"So this is where we ambush him?" Sirius asked.

"Yes, don't use magic though," Harry warned.

"What? Why?" Sirius asked in confusion.

"Because this entire area is monitored by the Albanian auror corp as well as Dumbledore," Harry explained as he unclipped the dagger from his belt and handed it to Sirius.

"Is this goblin made?" Sirius asked as he unsheathed it and started to run his thumb over the blade to check how sharp it was.

" Don't touch the blade!" Harry snapped.

"Why?" Sirius asked quickly pulling his thumb away.

"Because the blade impregnated with basilisk venom, so much as a knick from that blade and you would be dead in less than a minute," Harry explained.

"So what are you going to use?" Sirius asked as he carefully sheathed the dagger and clipped it onto his belt.

"This," Harry said as he pulled the pistol from the holster on his vest and ejected the magazine checking that it was loaded before putting it back in the pistol and racking the slide.

He had spent hours training with this pistol when he was working for the unspeakables and had become quite attached to it. It had a few useful enchantments, the magazine had an undetectable extension charm so it held about sixty rounds, it had self-cleaning runes etched on the inside of the barrel, as well as cooling charms on the outside, and the tip of the barrel had a silencing charm woven around it.

He had never actually used it in combat before but had a feeling that today might change that.

"That's one of those muggle thingies, isn't it?" Sirius asked curiously.

"Yeah it's a-

BOOM!

"What the hell was that?" Sirius demanded as there was a loud commotion from the forest where they had last sighted Crouch.

"I don't know, let's find out," Harry said as he holstered the pistol and mounted the broom again.

"Is someone else after him?" Sirius asked as he climbed on behind him.

"Not that I know of," Harry said as he tapped his head disillusioning himself before kicking off into the air.

It wasn't difficult to find the source of the disturbance, there were three men in deep purple robes engaged in a fight with Crouch Jr. The area was a warzone now with craters blown in the ground and a few of the trees broken in half and burning filling the air with smoke.

Crouch was easily holding the men at bay, there were two more of the men in purple robes laying unmoving on the ground.

"Are those Albanian aurors?" Sirius asked watching as another one took a purple spell to the chest and crumpled to the ground.

"Yes, and they seem to have bitten off more than they can chew," Harry said dryly as another one fell leaving just one standing.

"Shouldn't we help?" Sirius asked looking concerned as the last man was quickly getting overwhelmed.

"No, I don't want my magical signature anywhere near this scene, do you want to spend the rest of your life in an Albanian prison?" Harry asked Sirius dryly.

"No the British prison was enough for me," Sirius answered quickly.

"Are you sure, they don't have dementors here but they do have problems with lethifolds getting into the prison and eating the prisoners," Harry reasoned as the last auror fell to a decapitation curse.

Harry watched from the air as Barty checked the downed aurors and in two cases hit them with the killing curse before going to the right into the forest.

"Where is he going?" Sirius asked in confusion.

"He is going to lay low, that fight will have drawn a lot of attention to this area," Harry said quietly as he followed Barty from overhead.

"So what do we do now?" Sirius asked.

"Wait until he hunkers down and take him down tonight," Harry said as they continued heading northward.

They ended up trailing Barty for hours he seemed to be heading in the opposite direction Harry believed Voldemort's wrath was which made sense, Crouch didn't want to lead his enemies to his master.

About three o'clock Harry saw Barty approach another rocky mountain and slowly start climbing upward towards an area that Harry could see several fissures in the rock, most likely entrances to a small cave system.

"He's going in one of the caves," Sirius exclaimed.

"I know that might complicate matters," Harry said quietly as he heard a familiar noise in the distance.

It was an eerie soothing sound that seemed to fill your entire being, that was the unmistakable sound of phoenix song.

"Fuck, Dumbledore's here," Harry exclaimed as a burst of flame erupted below them and Dumbledore appeared on the ground below them.

Dumbledore seemed completely at his ease as he started climbing the mountain scanning his wand back and forth in front of him as he went.

"Now what?!" Sirius whispered nervously.

"Stay out of it, I'm good but I'm no match for him in a fight," Harry said as he watched Fawkes take flight.

The phoenix actually flew up beside him and gave them a trill in greeting before it began circling over Dumbledore.

"What was that about?" Sirius whispered looking alarmed.

"Fawkes being a smartass," Harry muttered.

"But he knows we're here," Sirius argued.

"As long as we're not a threat to Albus the bird doesn't care that we're here," Harry shrugged as he saw Dumbledore enter the cave.

"We're not going to get Crouch are we?" Sirius asked sounding somewhat hopeful.

"Not here we're not," Harry agreed as the entrance to the cave lit up in green light.

"Stupid, you never go at Dumbles with the killing curse," Harry muttered in disappointment.

"No, from what I've seen the best way to duel him is to keep him moving, he gets tired after a while," Sirius muttered.

"Yeah, he likes to stand in one spot and overwhelm his-

'BOOM'

- enemies," Harry finished as smoke and dust were blown out of the cave opening.

Not long after they saw Dumbledore levitating a bound and unconscious Barty Crouch Jr out of the cave.

"Fawkes, if you would be so kind," Albus asked pleasantly.

They watched as Fawkes swooped down and grabbed Barty before disappearing in a burst of flame.

"Alright, we're done here," Harry whispered as he flew his broom away from the area before Dumbledore noticed their presence.

Three hours later Harry and Sirius touched down at the edge of tbe forest and they were able to dismount the broom.

"Finally, if I never see another broomstick it will be too soon," Sirius muttered walking around a bit shakily.

"Tell me about it, the cushioning charms only do so much," Harry said as he shrunk the broom and slipped it in his robe pocket.

"So can we go home now?" Sirius asked hopefully.

"Yes, the sooner we get out of these alert wards the better, Harry said as he started leading them out of the forest.

It took about an hour before they crossed the wards and Harry offered Sirius his arm.

Peverell Beach House, Cornwall, 12/4/1982, 11:23

Harry stepped out of the floo and collapsed into a chair sighing in relief. Not a second later Sirius stepped out behind him.

"Thank god that's over," Sirius sighed taking a seat on the couch.

They had missed the flight to London yesterday and had been forced to stay in a hotel for the night. They took an early flight out this morning and apparated straight from the airport to Grimmauld Place, then took the floo here.

The whole trip had been pointless, he had underestimated how much Dumbledore was monitoring the area Voldemort was hiding out in.

That really made him wonder what happened with Quirrell, surely Dumbledore knew that he had entered the forest and ultimately left with Voldemort.

Did that mean that his first year was planned out? That Dumbledore knew Quirrell was possessed from the beginning.

Then what about in fourth year with Pettigrew? Had Dumbledore simply allowed this to happen so he could start his plans into motion.

"Harry, you're back," Bellatrix exclaimed as she came into the room leading his younger self into the room.

Harry shook off his earlier thoughts and stood from the couch pulling her in for a kiss.

"Yeah, just got here a minute ago," Harry said after he pulled back from the kiss.

"So how did it go?" Bella asked curiously.

"Awful, it was a complete waste of a trip," Harry sighed.

"Did he get away?" Bellatrix asked as Sirius scooped little Harry up.

"No, Dumbledore showed up and captured him," Harry said.

"How did it go here?" Sirius cut in.

"Good, we went to the alley, played games, he was perfectly behaved," Bellatrix said with a shrug.

"Good, he is usually pretty mellow," Sirius grinned.

"Except on a broomstick," Harry pointed out.

"Aunty Bella said Tonky crashed her broomstick in the house," Harry piped in.

"She did," Harry agreed.

"Well I'm glad you're home," Bellatrix said softly.

'So am I,' Harry thought with a grin as they all made their way to the kitchen for a cuppa.

Hogwarts Head's Office, Scotland, 12/5/1982, 21:34

Albus was still blown away by what had transpired in Albania a few days ago.

Barty Crouch Jr had been snuck out of Azkaban by his father, even as he sat there the ministry was investigating every aspect of the Crouch family.

Barty Jr proudly confessed to murdering his father and attempting to unite with his master.

Barty Crouch Jr was in serious trouble, the Albanian ministry was arguing to have him extradited to Albania to stand trial for the death of five aurors which was holding up his trial in the British ministry.

The point was moot anyway, when Barty finally got a trial in either country he was looking at death in Albania or a fate worse than death from the dementor's kiss in Britain.

Albus couldn't find much evidence on the other two magicals his wards had picked up, they left shortly after he had captured Crouch and had made no effort to approach the area Voldemort was at.

Most likely they were just camping in the area and had no idea what evil lived in that forest.

Now that that problem had been sorted out he needed to have a word with Sirius, he could not allow the countries only hope to be corrupted by the likes of Bellatrix Peverell.
