Chapter 9 - I Will Life Better Here

"You're an adult, you don't need presents anymore. Are you still a child?" my mother said to me when my brother got a gift at the celebration party.

Even though I was 10 years old at the time, did I no longer need to get gifts like she did? He was only two years younger than me.

Why couldn't I get a present too?

"Your brother wants to buy a motorcycle, mom and dad don't have any money. You buy him a motorcycle, is it that hard? You're already have a job!"

But my money is not enough for my daily life. Sometimes it's hard even to eat. He's 20 years old, why doesn't he work and save up to buy the sports bike he wants?

Why are you always siding with him over me?

Why do you always tell me to give in and give what I have to him?

When I'm also...

ALERT!

Slowly my eyes opened, I looked around me and I was still in my room, more precisely Celestial's room before I finally woke up in her body six months ago. I woke up in the body of a villain from a novel I read.

"Huftt... I'm dreaming about the bad things of the past again. I shouldn't have to think about those things anymore. Now I'm in another world from mine. No one will force me to work, give me all my money and order me to give away what I have," I said as I rubbed my head which was a bit sore.

It's just that, at the moment, I have a problem that I need to solve before that day comes. The day when all these beautiful dreams turn into nightmares.

I just needed to be careful and not let Eleanor take my role in this family.

I slowly began to realize that she was trying to take my place in the mansion. She does a lot of things that I used to do, but she makes them much better than me.

For example, the paintings she made, she learned that from me and made paintings that seemed to try to surpass me to get everyone's attention.

From painting, dancing, even from how she tries to communicate with others. It was like she was trying to imitate me, she wanted to take my position and make me end up alone.

"She's trying to make me end up like the real Celestial. She's..." I squeezed my blanket, feeling annoyed but I couldn't show my anger.

I couldn't be as vicious as Celestial who was probably the main reason for doing bad things to Eleanor. All because that woman was trying to get rid of her as the daughter of the Damanor family.

Then now that I'm here as Celestial, I won't let Celestial fall into the same mistake. I will make this story with Eleanor who will feel what the original Celestial felt.

She must taste the medicine she made herself.

My life in my homeworld has been terrible, and I won't let me lose all the things I've been hoping for.

All that attention, that praise and all that good stuff is Celestial's, mine.

I will take back what is rightfully mine.

Knock knock

"Lady Celestial, it's me Odette. I'd like permission to come inside." I heard Odette's voice knocking on the door and then walked into the room.

She always woke me up every morning while bringing me tea and biscuits before going to breakfast. I really like all these things, it feels so nice. It's different from my world where I have to do everything myself.

"Oh you're awake already? How unusual," she said as she placed the tray on the table. She opened the window curtains which let the morning light directly into my room.

It was too shine, but it felt so warm.

"Yes, I had a nightmare that made me suddenly wake up," I replied as I sat up.

"A-a nightmare?! Are you alright, Lady Celestial? Was it really that horrible?" She looked panicked as she approached me.

"Oh yes, it was quite horrible. But it's all over. I don't need to think about that dream anymore."

"Thank goodness, I was so worried when I heard that."

Odette had always been a bit too much for everyone. But I guess it's because she's too innocent and expressive, so she can look like that.

She's the one who's always nearby to serve the many things I need. I guess I can indeed trust her as my friend here. Is Celestial also friends with her?

"Odette," I called out.

"Yes, Lady Celestial?" she asked as she poured tea into a cup.

"Do you believe in another world? I mean a life other than this world."

I was curious about her answer, had she ever heard of it?

"Another world? You mean the world of ghosts?" she asked with a pale face. "I heard that ghosts also have their own world."

I was a bit surprised by her answer, but that wasn't what I was asking. It was just that his response seemed very funny. I could only chuckle when I heard that.

"Of course that's not what I meant, Odette. But it's fine, you don't have to think about it." I took the teacup she gave me and sipped it.

Savoring the warm and fragrant tea in my hands, made me feel better after that dream. Now it was no longer anything, my life as Celestial was already much better, I just needed to maintain what I currently had.

Celestial's POV End

Finished with tea, Odette tidied up the tray and brought it over.

"Then you will excuse me, Lady Celestial. I'll be back in 10 minutes to help you dress up," Odette said.

"Of course, thank you Odette." Celestial smiled which was immediately returned by the maid.

She walked out leaving Celestial's room with a different smile on her face. A smile that she had never shown to anyone.

"Then, please wait a moment," she said again as she closed the door to her lady employee room.

She walked in the hallway of the mansion, seeing all the servants doing their work as usual. Cleaning all the places around the mansion and greeting each other.

It was just that when Odette passed by them, they seemed to ignore her existence. It was as if the woman was not among them.

Not a single servant stopped working to greet her, not a single servant looked in her direction.

Odette's existence was like a ghost.

"Wait a moment, Lady Celestial. I'll definitely be back soon."
