However, in the eyes of others, Sterling was a complete madman.
Even when he squatted down and pretended to grab something out of the air, his random poking was a sign of madness.
When Sterling put away his attribute card and stood up, he happened to lock eyes with the female student who had committed perjury.
She was so frightened that she turned pale on the spot, and pleaded for mercy in panic:
"I was forced to do it, they threatened me, saying they would expose the gymnasium incident if I didn't cooperate. I have a bright future ahead of me, I dared not to, I'm sorry Sterling, I'm sorry, please don't kill me!"
Sterling withdrew his gaze and snorted coldly:
"Forget it, we are not on the same path, I'm too lazy to say another word to you, an ungrateful person."
Sterling looked around, saw the guns pointed at him, and in the tense moment, he sneered:
"It seems I can't stay here any longer. If this place won't keep me, there will be another place. Living in the end times, you should take care of yourselves."
After saying that, Sterling turned and left. The warriors were still on alert with their guns, but without a clear order, they couldn't shoot to kill yet.
"Let him go, murderer, we don't harbor madmen!"
Edward scolded loudly, and George quickly intervened, whispering:
"He is the genetically evolved human mentioned in the secret files, a Metahuman!"
"What... what?"
Edward's body stiffened, his eyes filled with disbelief.
George nodded his head affirmatively.
"You, you can't leave!"
Edward changed his tone, wanting to keep Sterling because Sterling's identity was too special.
Sterling stopped, tilted his head, and said coldly:
"What, you won't let me stay or leave. Do you think you can keep me here? Don't force me to slaughter, my axe doesn't want to be stained with the blood of the innocent!"
Edward wanted to say something more, but George held him back again.
"Misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding!"
"Brothers, put down your guns, there's no need for violence!"
George instructed the soldiers to lower their weapons, and every pair of eyes was filled with confusion and doubt, especially among the H-nation individuals who were whispering to each other, gossiping, and pointing fingers.
"What's going on? We were originally bringing in a wolf, and now we're going to nurture a tiger?"
"Are they crazy too? Why keep someone like this alive?"
Edward whispered:
"Captain George, no matter what method you use, you must keep the person here."
"Understood, I guarantee to complete the mission!"
Saying that, George strode forward to catch up.
However, Sterling did not stop and had already walked out of the embassy gate, about to leave when he heard the sound of mechanical exoskeletons quickly approaching from behind.
"Young man, don't rush to leave, let's talk!"
Sterling did not stop at all.
"What's there to talk about!"
"We have no grudges, you don't have to be so angry with me."
George was good at getting close to people with his chatter.
"Charles, I've never liked him, killed or not, it doesn't matter."
"How about this, I specially recruit you into the military, to protect the people of H-nation as they return home, and consider it as a way for you to atone for your sins?"
Sterling walked and retorted:
"Atoning for sins, you're already defining me as guilty, but I don't think I'm guilty!"
"Right, right, you're not guilty! Don't go, chat with me for a while."
He grabbed Sterling, finally making him stop.
Sterling impatiently asked:
"I'm puzzled, we don't know each other, why do you have to cling to me, why do you insist on making me join the army?"
"It's not because..."
George was about to explain the reason when two more people ran out from behind, blonde and blue-eyed, Alice and Amelia.
"Hi!"
"Hello."
George glared.
"What are these two girls chasing out for, you two go back quickly, it's dangerous outside."
The two women said they didn't understand, George also didn't understand foreign languages, scratching his head and gesturing, asking the two women to go back and wait.
The two women, however, turned a blind eye and said to Sterling:
"If you're leaving, we'll go with you too."
"Right, we'll go with you as well."
Sterling asked in confusion:
"Why would you leave a shelter you've barely found to follow me?"
Alice shrugged and said:
"This is your H-nation embassy, we never really fit in here. Besides, if they can't even tolerate you, they'll definitely discriminate against us, so it's safer to stick with you."
Sterling gave the two women a disdainful look and said to George:
"Ignore them, continue what you were saying."
George hesitated, looking around.
"What I'm about to say is confidential, it's not easy to say with them around!"
"Don't worry, they don't understand our language."
George was still torn, but eventually gave in, pointing at the café by the street and saying:
"How about we go in and sit down?"
The three entered the shattered café, and George called in his team members to keep watch around the perimeter.
After everything was arranged, George and Sterling sat face to face, while the two women were at the bar trying to figure out how to make coffee.
George looked around furtively and spoke in a low voice:
"The reason I want to keep you is not just because you have the ability, it should be said that God favors you, otherwise I wouldn't bother with you, right?"
Sterling's eyebrows furrowed slightly, suspecting that George might know that he had a system.
"Let me tell you, the end of the world, the zombie outbreak, it's a conspiracy between B-nation and the alliance."
Sterling let out a breath and then became interested.
"Go on."
George said mysteriously:
"Have you heard of the population reduction plan? I bet you haven't."
"Recently, we obtained some confidential information at the United Nations, with the health and medical group, which records super genes and the secrets of genetic evolution."
"I don't have much education, I don't understand these high-tech things, but the general idea is that some countries have been researching super humans. Every genetically evolved person has special superpowers."
"Some have incredible strength, some are as fast as lightning, I think you must be one of those people."
"I'm not!"
Sterling retorted.
"Don't be stubborn!"
George gestured with his chin towards Sterling's axe.
"Even with combat exoskeleton, I struggle to lift this axe, and you can swing it to kill zombies, doesn't that say something?"
"You, you don't know how fortunate you are."
Sterling didn't argue anymore, let him guess as he pleased.
"You say it is, then what?"
George looked around again, seeing that the two girls showed no intention of eavesdropping, then he cautiously said:
"Eight days ago, all the middle and high-level officials of the alliance disappeared collectively."
"Wealthy people, capitalists, scientists, dignitaries, even university professors were secretly moved away, do you know why?"
Sterling shook his head, and George continued:
"Because the virus accidentally leaked, dissolved in the air, and began to spread all over the world."
"The rich and powerful took emergency precautions first, and then when the genetic evolution research results matured, they would be the super new humans on Earth, easily dominating the globe!"
Sterling tapped his fingers on the table, analyzed for a moment, then said:
"These secrets can't be just your wild guesses, if they're true, how do you know?"
