Cal POV:
The shadow grabbed my throat, painfully cutting off my breathing. I tried to summon my magic but I was too weak and stunned to bring any magic to my hands.
I felt black spots appear in my vision, I was losing consciousness. I groaned, grabbing the hands around my throat, tugging as hard as I could.
My vision continued to deteriorate. No, this couldn't be it for me, I couldn't just die here like this, there was too much I hadn't done, too much I had to live for.
I felt my eyes droop, I knew I would just have to die here, the shadow would tear me apart just like all of its other victims.
I closed my eyes, I had to accept it, I would die, and there was nothing I could do to stop this from happening.
I felt tears well in my closed eyes, my mouth quivering, this was the end.
I suddenly felt a jolt of power strike me, like a bolt of lightning shooting through my body. I gasped, sparking, my eyes jolting open.
The sky was darker, darker than it always was at this time, usually bright in the middle of the day.
An eclipse, I could see on of the moons partially covering the sun, though it still burned my eyes the light was dimmer.
As the moon continued to cover the sun I felt more power careen through me. I gasped, grimacing in pain. I felt so much power striking through my body, an overwhelming amount.
A blue stream of light so bright it was almost white shot out of my hand at will, the light slammed into the shadow, ripping off its head, sending the creature slumping down quickly, its hands dropping off my neck.
I felt wings, larger than the ones I usually conjured rip out of my back, bright neon blue in their color, sending me flying into the sky, seemingly on their own accord.
I was so overwhelmed with magic I could barely feel my senses, could barely feel anything.
A blinding blast of power exploded out of me, sending a wave of power into the city, striking the buildings.
I gritted my teeth, opening my eyes, I had to stop this wreckage, and I would end it right this moment.
