Al was pressing harder against me, a noticeable bulge in his pants. I was taken shocked for a moment. I didn't know anyone could possible feel this sort of way for me.Cal's hands started drifting lower on me. From my face, his hands went down, lower to my torso, then started even lower.I tried pulling away, "Cal, p-please don't do this," I said meekly."What do you mean, human?" He asked tentatively. He looked down, realizing himself "Oh, I apologize, I should have been more aware that you weren't ready to progress to that.""I-it's alright, I just want to take things a bit slower, things have already been chaotic as is.""That, they are. I suppose you're right." He said softly, I could still hear the disappointment in his tone.He stood up. "Well it is getting quite late at this point." He said gesturing to the window.I looked out, seeing the two moons, shining their bright, translucent light into the room through the window, the stars sprinkling the sky."Yes you're right, I guess I am kind of tired."Me and Cal got in bed, this time, minimal hesitation before Cal put his arms around me, I doing the same, my arms around his soft and fluffy neck.I felt myself quickly begin to feel the tiredness sink into me, my eyelids beginning to droop, feeling Cal's soothing rhythmic heartbeat, his warm fur-covered body covering me since he was much bigger than me.I heard something then. Such a faint sound it was, like a radio out of tune, staticky. It sounded awfully like the shadow we had seen in the woods. I forced myself to ignore it, I was imagining it, they couldn't have gotten this far.But the sound got louder, more intense, this was not my imagination.I shook Cal awake urgently. "Wake up, there's something in the castle, it sounds nearby!" I loudly whispered, my voice filled with terror. He woke up groggily before his ears perked up suddenly, the static sounding more prominent, I could hear the pictures on the walls subtly rattling."We have to hide, right now!" He snappedHe grabbed my hand, practically crushing it in his firm grip. I clenched my jaw, not crying out, he pulled me into the closet, softly and quickly shutting the door.I didn't make a move as we kept ourselves in there, only the sounds of our breathing and the sound of the static, becoming more and more noticeable. The static was now so loud, the sound was probably right outside the door. I heard the door softly click open, barely audible footsteps enter the room.Under the closet door I could see the shadows of movement, it was in here with us, right now.Cal suddenly let go of me, pushing me behind him."Stay here. Don't you fucking dare leave this closet." He whispered in my ear.I was too stunned to speak, as I saw him slowly, impossibly quiet as he opened the closet door. The shadow was luckily turned around, facing the other way.Cal raised his hands, a soft blue light emitting from them, power radiating from him.A flash of bright blue light suddenly exploded out of his hands, a sound loud as a lightning strike shaking the room.Thin bolts of magic shot out, snapping around the shadow. It let out a bloodcurdling scream, high pitched and terrifying, the blue magic seeming to slice into its form.Cal's face looked in pain from concentration, his face contorted into a snarl.A bright circle of blue light appeared under the shadow, illegible symbols rapidly spinning on the circle, it was a portal! The shadow being screamed louder as it started to sink into the portal, thrashing its limbs, finally the shadow fell completely through, a blinding white light conjured and appearing for only a flash second before the creature was gone, Cal laying unconscious on the floor, ancient symbols seemingly glowing white on his grey fur.
