Cal pulled me back to the room, an angry expression on his face. He walked me inside and slammed the door."Mind telling me why you did that?" he snapped; his ears pressed to the back of his head."I-I don't know...""What the hell do you mean you don't know?! If you had been spotted you would have been executed, burned alive at the stake." He snapped, almost yelling. He growled, seeming frustrated with me."I'm sorry, I-I shouldn't have gone.""I know, sorry for acting like that, it's just a very dangerous thing to be a human in these parts."I nodded sullenly."And I'm so fucking tired, my father has been pestering me to no end.""Sorry, about what?"He visibly flinched. "It's nothing." he bit out. "Anyway, I'm going to go into the forest, I'm sick of staying here in this damn castle.""O-oh, can I go with you?" I asked. I too, was tired of being confined to this room."I suppose you can."He grabbed my arm, the invisibility spell cast over me. He led me out of the room and then up a narrow staircase, leading higher up into one of the castles towers. Soon, we reached a small balcony overlooking the back of the castle. It was surrounded by woods, perfect for when you didn't want to be noticed, I realized.Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light, I looked away for a moment, but when I looked back I noticed that Cal had a pair of wings on his back. They were a deep grey, like his fur color, but seemed to almost be glowing. My eyes widened."I didn't know that you had magic!" I exclaimed.Cal chuckled. "Yes, I've had it since I was very young. This will help up get there much quicker."I reached out to touch his wings, they were magnificent."Oh, don't touch them, they are... sensitive." He said embarrassedly."O-oh, s-sorry I didn't realize.""It's alright. Now, let us go."He suddenly grabbed me by the small of my back and leapt off the balcony. I screamed, what the hell?! I suddenly heard the beating of wings and realized that we were flying, I turned my head and looked down, I was able to see the entire city from here."What the fuck Cal?!" I said still bearing myself from my past shock. He laughed. "Sorry, I just knew that would be too funny."I sighed. Cals arms were firmly around me, not allowing me to plunge to my death. The view though, was incredible. I could see the city was quite small, I could see all the boarders of it, kept with a wooden wall. Outside the boarders were just like the forest that I had been yesterday, seeming to be eternally covered in that dense fog.We flew over the clouds and over the forest. It all looked the same, the city we had come from was entrapped by this forest."Wait, where are you taking us?" I asked."You'll see in time, were almost there."After a few more minutes of flying, I was able to make out a small lake tucked into the forest, a waterfall from a nearby stream next to it.Cal suddenly dived down; we were definitely going fast now. I clenched my eyes closed, pressing my face into Cals chest. He swooped up just before we hit the ground, landing carefully on the ground."Ok, you can let go now."I realized I was still pressed closely to him, my hands bunching his fur."S-sorry, I just have never done something like this before.""I know, you did say you didn't remember your past."I felt a sharp pain at that. He was right, I was basically relearning everything now. In this world where I couldn't even be a human without that causing immense danger for me. I pushed those thoughts away, I didn't want to think of that right now, there was still the chance my memories could come back after all.I looked out at the small lake, basically a pond with the size it was. The waterfall adding a soothing sound with no other noises present.I walked up to the pond, sitting down next to the edge, Cal sitting beside me in peaceful silence. The sounds of the waterfall soothing my nerves. The peaceful breeze rustling through the trees. Finally a moment of peace.
