~ Celeste's POV — Present ~
During the first week of Mirelle and I going to the Adventurers Guild's library and back to the Inn, I did nothing but study and take down notes of everything that seemed important and things that I understood, while Mirelle kept me company the whole time. She would either watch me study, try to read the books I had on our table, or look down onto the training grounds of the Adventurers Guild.
Most of the books I had during the first time I came here were already back on the shelf, and as another week passed by, I had Mirelle go to the training grounds of the Adventurers Guild if she ever wanted, but she had to hold back against the Adventurers so as not to injure them too badly by accident. Mirelle often went to the training grounds whenever I got too immersed in reading a book and my study; she would go to the training grounds in hopes of not disturbing me.
Whenever it was time to go home, I would pick Mirelle up from the training grounds and heal the people who had sparred with Mirelle. It was my way of paying them back for keeping my dear companion company, and Mirelle and I would often take quests from the G Rank Quest board, completing around 3 to 4 quests every day, as G Rank quests were quite easy to accomplish and were often just inside the city.
The quests would either be finding lost pets, lost items, delivering other items, and many more menial tasks that people couldn't be bothered to do. While the rewards left something to be desired, doing it 3 to 4 times covered the small rewards, which allowed us to cover most of our expenses while having some extra to save for the future.
Another week had passed by of coming to the Adventurers Guild's Library to study, and I had covered most of the books that I had gotten during the first time I had come to the library. I was now on the books containing information and knowledge about magic, skills, mana, and many more topics that I was personally interested in.
Reading the books about Magic and Mana, I realized how amazing [Creation Magic] actually was. Skills were something people either earned through hard work or were born with, inherited from their parents. [Creation Magic], on the other hand, bypassed the requirement of "experience" for skills by using my Mana as a substitute for "experience," and another factor that likely increased the speed in which I acquired skills was most likely thanks to the [Reincarnator] Title.
Realizing this, I was thankful that I had chosen [Creation Magic] above all other skills I was presented with at that time. However, it also made me realize that while [Creation Magic] was powerful, it was, again, not all-powerful. It had limitations, and with each realization of new aspects about [Creation Magic], the more I realized that I must not let anyone know that I had this skill—not until I could protect Mirelle and myself.
After reading a little more, I moved on to books related to Mana, Mana Applications, Mana Theories, and many more.
One of the discoveries I had made during this study session was a skill called [Body Reinforcement], an improved version of the skill [Physical Reinforcement] that Mirelle and I had and used. Even now, I had [Physical Reinforcement] activated at all times, as it helped make physical work easier.
The difference between the two skills was that one multiplied the strength you already had by 2, while the improved skill reinforced your base strength and then multiplied it by 4. However, from my studies, it seemed that learning this skill would take quite a bit of time, and it would take an enormous amount of Mana for even one skill orb to be crafted.
Despite the outcome, however, I was optimistic. It was thanks to this discovery of [Body Reinforcement] that I realized I could not only reinforce my body with mana but also concentrate the reinforcement into a certain part of my body, showing various different outcomes. Using Mana to reinforce the eyes allowed one to see Mana; on the other hand, when Mana was used to reinforce the feet, it greatly increased the amount of power in the legs, increasing running speed and jumping power.
Those were just a few things—there were many more parts of the body that could be reinforced with Mana to show interesting power, and when it became a skill, it would be possible to have it activated at all times. That is, if you had the Mana for that kind of operation.
I wanted to test these skills out, but doing so in the library would be a bad idea. Looking at the time, while it was still far away, in just a few more hours, I would need to go to the training grounds. Thinking for a moment, I realized I could go to the training grounds to practice the things I had just learned and see how Mana worked and flowed for different people.
With that decided, I immediately tidied the table and went down to the training grounds of the Adventurers Guild.
Coming out to the training grounds, "Lady Witch! Are you going to play with Mirelle?" Mirelle's voice rang out from the middle of the training grounds, making all the heads in the training ground turn towards me. Mirelle had spotted me, while she was sparring with other people, some laid on the ground somewhat battered and bruised but nothing too serious.
"Unfortunately, I won't be, Mirelle. But I will be watching you train." I said, my tone softening, as I tried comforting Mirelle, who had energetically asked me, if I wanted to play with her. Despite my worries however, Mirelle was quite happy that I was watching her train and spar. "Really?! Yay! Lady Witch is watching! I have to do my best." Mirelle said, pumping her arms, as she took on a stance, with one wooden sword out.
It was a warm feeling, having someone who cherishes me the way Mirelle does. I watched over the entire sparring of Mirelle and the Adventurers, while reinforcing my eyes with Mana... After the sparring had ended, and another new batch entered the midde of the training grounds, everyone rested for a bit, before starting again.
Mirelle ran up to me, and with glee in her eyes and a look on her sweet face waiting for praise. I couldn't help but chuckle a bit, "hehehe", I then added, "You did amazing, Mirelle." with a proud look on my face. "It was amazing, no one could lay a finger on you."
"ehehe" Mirelle blushed as she giggled, and scratching her head in response to the praise. "Lady Celeste praised Mirelle~" Mirelle happily mumbled to herself, and just when everyone was done resting, "Mirelle, we want to spar with you~!" a voice rang out from the middle of the training ground, where a group of people was now standing ready to spar with Mirelle.
Mirelle looked at me with a confirming look, and I responded in turn. "You can spar with them, if you want Mirelle. We aren't going home yet." I said to Mirelle, who had a big smile on her face as she heard me give approval. "What will Lady Celeste be doing?" asked Mirelle, curious about my next activity. "I'll just study here for now, you can go spar with as many people as you want." I said to Mirelle.
Mirelle smiled and nodded vigorously, immediately heading towards the middle of the training grounds where a group of Adventurers were waiting for her arrival.
