Linda's POV
As I gazed at the place Kevin had directed me to, my heart was pounding. I couldn't afford to lose someone I cared about, and Nathan had taken them. My surroundings appeared to blur, but the urgency of the situation brought me back to reality.
"We're almost there," Kevin replied, his tone steady but with a hint of strain in it. I needed him by my side now more than ever because he had been my pillar of support during all of this.
"How do we know this isn't a trap?" I leaned forward and inquired, my fingers white with stress as I gripped the car door.
"We don't," said Kevin glumly. "But if we wait any longer, we lose everything."
