Linda's POV
We received the news like a jolt. Nathan's disastrous scheme was already in action and not just a remote possibility.
Kevin paced the room and said, "Linda, we're out of time." The pressure was causing his normally composed manner to crumble. The economy will implode if he succeeds. Millions will lose everything.
With the circumstances weighing heavily on me, I took a deep breath. "How can he even do that? What is his point of view?"
Kevin paused his pacing and turned to face me. "Nathan has been transferring money through offshore accounts and siphoning it off." He is manipulating markets using his influence. He can profit billions while everyone else suffers if he crashes them.
I had the impression that the room was closing in on me. I made myself concentrate by clenching my fists. Then we halt him. We stop him no matter what.
