Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

LAGOS, NIGERIA

The group ran as fast as their legs could carry them, or rather as much as the humans in their midst could go. They needed to get to a portal and it has proven to be hard, with vampires blocking off everywhere. Enforcers had joined the band, fighting alongside the fleeing group but they were quickly diminishing.

The sun was shyly peeking from behind the clouds, trying to decide if the city of Lagos should be blessed with her bright presence after the massacre that had gone down for the past few hours.

Pere grunted and adjusted Oyinda's weight on his left arm as he used the right to ward off an irritating vampire.

"Just die already!", He gritted, gutting the creature and ripping her heart out of her cold chest and chucking it somewhere which happened to be on Bolanle.

"Hey!", The offended man yelled as the organ bounced off his face, the foul smell of blood invading his nostrils.

"Oh shut up!", Pere snapped, already at the end of his patience.

The human made a move to say something snarky to the other man.

"Behind you!", An enforcer yelled and released bullets into a vampire that was inching towards Bolanle but it was not long before the creature woke up again, the bullet holes on his body sealing up.

"We are so dead", the enforcer whispered scaredly.

In a fit of unchecked rage, Pere dropped the unconscious woman in his hand and lost himself to killing the enemies.

With sharp precision and a disgusting smile, he ripped through each of them, making a show of ripping their hearts out and dismembering them.

A soft grunt could be heard but this was a warfront. Anyone could grunt or moan or even scream but Osas pays close attention.

"Oyinda!", She rushed towards the woman who was grunting weakly on the floor, rubbing her hip that made contact with the floor when the hotheaded Pere dropped her.

"Oyinda!"

"What", the girl croaked, trying to make her vision gain focus.

"I honestly think we're in a bad dream, how are you feeling?", Osas rushed out, checking all over her friend.

Her rant was cut short, when a group of people, or rather, weird looking people, lead by a woman strolled into the fight as if they owned it and with how the leader knocked Oyinda out again showed just how much of the war they owned.

"Who the fuck are you?!", Osas bellowed angrily, getting in the woman's face.

"Greetings", Ebime started but didn't get a chance to finish.

"You can take your greetings and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. She just woke up you idiot and WHO the hell are you all?!", Osas screamed in her face, now taking note of the bearish men and women behind the woman.

"Ebime!", Ona screamed at the half god who a vampire was quickly approaching but with a quick maneuver, the vampire was laying dead before her.

The chaos calmed for the time being, allowing them a moment to breathe and talk amongst themselves.

"You are outside Ibuzo, Ebime. Why?", Ona asked the woman.

"The Ajekèr has brought more troubles than three thousand years can do, I must bring her home myself", Ebime eyed the knocked out woman.

Ebime steadily observed the bloody mess that was their surrounding, commiting to memory every little detail.

The sight of dismembered vampires burning up and their particles diminishing into thin air troubled Ebime greatly.

"The Ajekèr is not just a decendant of one clan. The essence of her soul has been pulled from different blood pools and clans. She has more evil in her than you know so you must protect Ibuzo before your Ajekèr if you must"

Right from the days of the alliance, one thing qualified Ceres to sit on the unified throne, their pure hearts. Their beautiful skins and charming looks were a bonus. The heart of Ceres knew no evil and his innocence has been preserved through his children, that is why Ishaka's birth brought unrest in not only the clan, but in Ibuzo.

Did the birth of Ishaka open the gates of evil?

"Where are you on this Earth son of Ceres?", Ebime whispered to herself.

The group changed their direction, heading for the portal that Ebime and the Tijani tribe came from.
