Dawn got home, it had been a long day, and changed into her cleaning uniform, and began cleaning the whole house.
When she got to Grayson's room, he was not there and was a bit reluctant to enter but she remembered him telling her that she better not do anything weird in his room when he was not there.
She entered and the whole room was dark, so she opened the curtains and windows so that light and fresh air could come in.
His room was very dirty, clothes strewn everywhere, the smell of sweat was coming out, and the stuffiness too.
How did he live and sleep in such a dirty room, it was not her job to judge, but this is why she was able to have this job.
She picked up all the clothes and arranged everything on his table, cleaned his bed and every inch of his room, and when she was done, it looked great, and hoped that he would be fine with it.
She wondered if she should have asked for permission before she entered to clean and she wondered if he would be upset with her.
After cleaning the whole house, she changed and looked at the assignment that they had to do, and read it through.
She began working on it, and when it was late, Dawn went to the kitchen, she realized that his mother had come late so she was going to take over the cooking too. Anything to make their living a bit bearable.
After Dawn finished cooking, she ate and cleaned, then went to her room, she made sure her uniform was ready.
She worked some more on her schoolwork, and when she was done, Dawn went to bed, the following morning she went to school.
Just another day of her being alone, being called weird, and working, the week was a blur, and today when she arrived back it was Friday.
Grayson's mother had been so proud of her cooking and cleaning, and on Friday she had said that all she had to do was the bedroom, then she was completely off on Saturday.
She was too tired, so a nap would do her well, when she woke up, Dawn was disoriented and checked the time, it was six at night.
Dawn had no plans for the evening but she had to clean the bedrooms, she cleaned Grayson's mom's room first, and then she made her way to his room.
Even after sleeping the whole afternoon, she was tired. She went to Grayson's room and got it in, and got the biggest shock of her life.
He was shirtless and only had a towel wrapped around his torso. This was the first time she had seen a guy like this.
She turned away, "I'm very sorry........" she stuttered.
"I'm not naked, so why are you hiding?"
Her face heated with so much color, "I wanted to clean your room."
"I can tell."
"I can come back later then."
"I'm about to leave so you can. What took you so long today to clean?"
"I apologize. I dozed off longer than what I had expected."
"You do look haggard, might as well try to have your beauty sleep, but I doubt that it will do anything for you."
She sighed inwards, "I will."
"So, this is what you do on Friday nights?"
"Yes, I don't go out."
"I know that, who would want to go out with you, plain and so mind-numbingly boring?"
Dawn knew what he said was right, she lacked personality and color. "I know."
she had gotten used to being alone, not that at times Dawn did wish to have friends and loneliness crept in on her.
"Don't worry, maybe someday you will find creepy friends to hang out with you." His words came out harshly but there was some gentleness in them.
She smiled at his words. "Thank you."
"What are you thanking me for?"
"For saying I will get weird friends."
He seemed to be taken aback by his response."So it does not matter to you that I called you weird?"
"No, not at all. I'm used to it."
"Are you trying to fish for sympathy from me?"
"No…not at all. That is not what I was doing."
"You can leave. I will be out in half an hour, you can come back then."
"Alright, see you then."
She went to her room and worked on the assignment. There was a knock on her door. She got up and opened the door.
Grayson stood there, wearing all black with a black leather jacket to finish the look, his eyes stood out, they were stark blue in contrast to the black outfit and his hair had a wave through it. She got why girls were obsessed with him.
How could one not be?
"You don't have to cook tonight, well for me, my mom is not coming tonight. She is working a night shift."
"Okay, thank you."
His scent was drawing her in, and she had color on her cheeks as to where her thoughts were going.
She had to take these thoughts out of it as she knew that she could never have someone like him.
"Is that all you can say?"
"Pardon? Did I miss something?"
"Never mind, enjoy cleaning and whatever you do on Friday evenings, just don't do anything weird"
"I won't and thank you, you too."
Grayson rolled his eyes, and he left.
