He was already scarfing down his food, "Arent you going to eat?" he asked in between bites."
"No, I already had dinner."
"You could have refused, you know, as you had eaten."
She looked down and did not respond. Dawn looked back up as they resumed, You. She spotted on his neck a hickey, but she was not too sure.
"I can see what your judgemental eyes are thinking."
"Huh?"
"I bet you have never seen a hickey."
Her cheeks bloomed with color, and she nodded.
"Of course, why am I not surprised?"
They carried on and she needed some water,
"Where are you going?"
"To get water."
She took his plate, made her way to the kitchen, and got herself a glass of water.
As usual, Grayson was commenting, and she loved it. Hearing his voice did all sorts of things to her, this was her guilty pleasure.
She wanted to ask where he had gone for all those days, but she fought against it. She didn't want to be nosy and pry too much.
"Did anyone give you trouble at school?"
"No, no one spoke to me."
"And that doesn't bother you Dawn?"
This was the second time he had said her name, and it gave her a lot of butterflies, she was stuttering a lot,
"No, not at all. I'm used to it."
"You're fucking strange. I can't even figure you out even one bit."
"Oh, sorry."
"Don't ever apologize for being yourself."
"Okay......."
"That's it for me. I'm going to call it a night. I'm tired."
"Okay, sleep well."
"Thank you, my lady. Sweet dreams then."
She knew that he was being sarcastic, but she would take it.
The following morning, she was awake, showered, and making breakfast in the kitchen, and Grayson walked into the kitchen.
He sat by the kitchen counter. "Having you here is fucking great."
She blushed at his words, but most of all, she blushed at him not wearing a shirt. She placed two plates by the counter and dished up some eggs, waffles, and bacon.
She did not know whether he would be fine with her sitting across from him,
"Sit, don't tell me you eat standing up."
She sat opposite him and he was on his phone as he ate. He did not say a thing to her as he was caught up with whoever he was texting.
When she was done, Dawn took their plates and washed them.
"You need to stay in your room." Said Grayson.
"Huh?"
"My friends are coming over, and I need some drinks and snacks to be put out. When you're done, go to your room and I better not see even your hair strand in sight."
"Okay."
Dawn cleaned and when done, she took out some snacks, glasses, and finger foods. She knocked at Grayson's door.
"What?"
"The ice is in the deep freezer in the silver bowl. You can take it out when your friends arrive."
"Ok."
She left to get herself some snacks that she would be eating while in her room. She locked her door in case someone tried to open her door.
Dawn knew that his friends were arriving as the music started to blast, and she sat on her bed to watch a new series.
It was very loud and the noise just got louder and louder.
"Grayson, let's get to your room now!"
Dawn knew what was going on and knew that they were kissing from the sound of it, so she decided to put some earphones on.
After some time, she saw her door handle rattle, and they seemed to be very resilient and could breathe once they stopped trying.
Dawn woke up confused and disoriented. There was still noise, and she checked the time. It was one in the morning and this was still going on.
She stretched and carried watching her series. The following day she woke up and was shocked that it was eleven thirty in the morning.
She had ended up sleeping late because of everything. She rushed downstairs and the mess that greeted her was way too much.
Dawn began cleaning, bit by bit. She worked throughout the whole house, five hours later, and she was finally done.
Grayson came in as she was placing the vases and finishing touches in the living room. He stretched, "Nice to wake up to a clean place."
She just nodded, not knowing how to respond to that. As a matter of fact, she knew her honest response would be very rude.
"Are you being serious right now?"
She was confused by his tone. "Sorry?"
"You're ignoring me because you have to do your fucking job."
"I didn't mean to. I just did not know what to say." She stuttered, "I apologize."
"Whatever. Are you going to make some food?"
"Sorry, I can't. I have to go take pictures for my project."
"Ah shit, you will help me with that, right?"
"Yes, anything you need."
She went to her room and changed, took her camera, and started off to town. She took a lot of pictures and would select from them.
The whole thing took her longer than she had anticipated, and when she got back, she was beat.
She went to her room and began editing. This way all the knowledge would be fresh in her mind. There was a knock on her door,
"Come in."
Grayson walked in and put his books on her table. "I need these to be done."
"Okay, I will drop them off when I'm done."
Grayson was out of her room. She would have to finish her assignment later and made sure to change her handwriting to match his.
She answered the questions as he would, but he would get a lot of marks for them. Dawn could not risk being caught out.
When she was done, she placed them on his door and went back to her room. She would relax for the rest of her Sunday.
The following day, she was up and early, made her and Grayson's lunch, left his on the table, and made her way to school.
