The door slammed shut behind them as they ran and entered the place where they were running to, and Sophie's breath came in very short, and fast.
Darius did not loosen his hold on her arm, his eyes was going back to the windows as if expecting another attack at any moment.
"You can let go of me now." Sophie said, her voice was sharper than she expected.
She dragged her arm free and stumbled backward, pressing herself on the wall as if it could offer her some kind of safety.
Darius turned to face her, his features was shown as a shadow in the dim light of the cabin.
"If I let go, you will run straight into something that will kill you without any hesitation, so no, Sophie, I'm not letting you go just yet." he said bluntly.
Her eyes narrowed, she was trying her best to refuse through her fear.
"You can't just drag me into your mess and act like I don't even get a say in anything!"
