Chase glanced at Isaac for a moment, deciding he didn't have the energy to deal with whatever this was, but one question lingered. "Why do you look like me?"
Isaac smirked, crossing his arms. "Because I wanted to see why a being stronger than me would choose to live as a mortal. So, I copied your DNA to create a mortal body—though I added my own personal touches, of course."
Chase sighed, uninterested in the explanation. Without another word, he stepped into the bedroom he assumed was his, confirmed by a nameplate on the door reading "Chase." The room had a comforting familiarity, much like his old apartment. Appreciating the similarity, he headed to the closet, grabbed fresh clothes and a towel, and made his way to the bathroom.
The bathroom layout mirrored Diana's but flipped, which Chase found oddly amusing. Locking the door behind him, he set down his clothes and stepped into the shower, hoping the water would wash away his lingering exhaustion.
