As they ate, Alice walked in, her eyes lighting up. "Ooh, what's for dinner?"
Diana, still blushing from earlier, responded, "I made soup."
Alice blinked in surprise. "You made it? You can cook?"
Diana shot her an annoyed look. "Of course I can cook!"
Curious, Alice wandered over to the kitchen and ladled herself a bowl. After a few cautious sips, she sat down at the table. "Not bad," she admitted. Then, changing the topic, she asked, "Did you get to meet your roommate yet, Chase?"
Chase frowned slightly, his appetite wavering. "Yeah, I met him," he said tersely.
Alice, oblivious to his expression, pressed on. "What was he like?"
Chase sighed, setting his spoon down. "How do I even explain it... I guess you could say he's my brother, but not by choice."
Diana froze mid-bite, her spoon clattering to the table. Alice stared at him, bewildered. "Your brother? You have a brother that goes to this school?"
