Chapter 39 - Truth or Dare

Chase sat there, cuddling with Diana under the blanket, watching the movie. It was boring. He could predict the plot before it even unfolded, so he decided to close his eyes, not fully asleep but barely conscious. As he rested, his thoughts wandered. He thought it was strange that the people he considered friends were unnaturally beautiful. Diana, a goddess who could turn heads without even trying; his sister, who had similar features but a more feminine face, also caught attention wherever she went. Alice wasn't far behind, either. Though she didn't try, her beauty was still undeniable. And then there was Isaac, who looked like a shorter, pre-transformation version of Chase. His black hair was darker than Chase's dyed one, and his eyes had that same void-like quality, making him just as striking. It was odd to him that he always gravitated toward those with such exceptional beauty, even if they didn't notice it themselves.
