The few trees around calmed my heart a little but I was a fighter and my heart was always alert because nothing in this world was 'perfect'. My mother always reminded me that even a beautiful rose had its thorns. No matter how beautiful and red roses were in time they always died.
I hated how she was always right, she hated love and everything beautiful this world had to offer but I held on to hope. I held on to him, Alexander and look where that got me. Just like a rose our love died and it was foolish of me to think it would ever come back to life. Love... there was no love in this world. Power was the answer to all my problems right now and I was going to get it.
I let the male drag me until we arrived at an old run down building. It's walls that were once white held the brownish-redish color of the desert sand. He led me inside, my heart sank as I watched the faces of prisoners looking drained in their cages. I was going to join them in there and that did not settle well with me.
Never in my life have I ever been a prisoner. I swallowed hard as I waited for his next move. He led me to an empty cage and I glared at him. He smirked, clearly he was enjoying this so I decided to spit in his face just for the sake of it. He slapped me hard before throwing me into the small cage, it was like a typical dog's cage. It was an insult to my kind and I hated this place even more.
I growled at him as he watched me with that dirty smirk, he scoffed and wiped off my spit from his face. I would remember his stupid face for as long as I survived and he would be one of the first wolves I rip to shreds once I was out of this place.
Minutes felt like hours in such a small cage and to make matters worse shifting into my werewolf form would hurt like hell with all the silver surrounding me. I huffed and sat in a corner. I needed a plan to get out of this hell. Out of this cage, out of this desert.
"pretty little red thing, who did they steal you from?" a hoarse voice said right opposite me. My eyes snapped in the woman's direction, she was quite old and she looked very frail. It made me wonder what in the world she could have done to be locked up in a cage. I raised an eyebrow at her and then it came to me, never underestimate a werewolf even if they looked frail or old and innocent.
"They didn't take me from anyone." I said in a bored tone. I was not in a chit chat mood.
She sized me up and down "you came here willingly"
"maybe" I folded my arms.
She looked at me as if I was crazy "you are rogue"
"I'm not..." I closed my mouth before I could finish that statement. I was rogue now, she was right but I wasn't mad-at least not yet.
She scoffed "thats what I thought, so are you ready to meet your fate"
I did not answer her, this was because I knew what she meant and she was wrong. I was not going to lose my life anytime soon. No fucking ways.
She started laughing and I glared at her. It's funny how the people here loved calling me crazy when the actual truth was that they were all bat shit crazy. "what are you laughing at?"
"oh nothing, is that real" she asked with a smile staring at my hair
I rolled my eyes "yes"
She hummed "a rare breed, it's a pity all that unique beauty is going to waste"
"will you just shut up already old lady, I'm really over your blabbering" I growled and closed my eyes. I needed to think and she was just pissing me off right now with all this death talk.
Just when I thought I finally had a few minutes to think six large men walked in. I groaned as I focused my eyes on them. Well this didn't look good at all. I snarled at them, one rule as a wolf is to never show your weakness.
"you really want to die I see" I heard the old lady say and I glared at her.
One of the men walked towards my cage quietly. He opened it and I immediately threw my body at him ready to bite anything I could off of his body. Well let's just say that didn't work, he punched me in the face and I fell on my ass. I groaned, my whole body felt sore at this point and the silver was making it hard for my body to heal properly.
The man took out more silver chains and he wrapped them around my arms four times then he wrapped the silver around my neck. I groaned in pain, it felt like my life was being sucked out of me. He grabbed the chains and pulled me with him.
The other wolves that came with him opened a few cages and pulled out about five prisoners. They dragged us out into the hot desert. I could feel my flesh burning because of the silver and the sun wasn't helping at all. My throat was burning, I coughed out loud. My eyes widened when I saw blood on my arms, great now I was coughing out blood. I decided not to think about that too deeply.
We were dragged out to the middle of nowhere and we were forced to kneel down on the hot sand. One of the men walked forward with a dagger "The six of you trespassed into our territory and that is a major offense. You will not speak or beg for your lives in any ways. That is if you have any dignity left in you, however even if you did beg our Alpha will still end your life right here. I suggest you do not waste your last breath doing that."
Nobody said a word, well I had my pride and begging was not my style. If I bolted would they catch me? But then again I didn't have enough strength to run. This was pretty much fucked up. I glared at the man talking, seriously I was going to fight before losing my life.
My heart beat increased and it suddenly got even hotter. I breathed out slowly, was I suddenly dying because I felt so weird and not in a good way. I breathed in slowly and let's just say the most beautiful scent invaded my nose. It was like fresh wood and forest all mixed together. It smelt like freedom... my wolf suddenly became unsettled after being dead silent all this time.
A man suddenly appeared, he was huge like probably 6'4. He was literally all muscles and his skin had a beautiful tan. His hair was shoulder length long and wavy with the most beautiful golden brown color I had ever seen. Oh shit... it couldn't be. The only reason I would feel this way was because he was my...
"Mate" he said calmly as his ocean blue eyes snapped in my direction.
