I couldn't shake off the curiosity gnawing at me, compelling me to unravel the mysteries shrouding Alpha Roman's extraordinary control over his primal side. Determined, I sought answers from Ella, hoping she had a little bit of more information than she had shared earlier on.
Ella was easy to find ,she liked plants so I knew she would be in the gardens helping out. It's crazy how the women around here were always doing something. It's either they were cleaning or planting something and they never seemed tired at all. It made me feel like I was one lazy girl but I didn't care because there is no ways in hell you would ever find me in a garden willingly planting pretty little veggies.
"Ella," I began, trying to sound nonchalant,
She smiled "you took longer than I thought and you smell like him too" she said winking at me and I felt like melting away.
"Stop Ella! I actually have another question.Do you know anything about Alpha Roman's lineage, his family history or something that might explain his unique abilities?" I decided to be a bit more open "It's just that we were together and he just seems...different"
Ella looked around cautiously before leaning in, as if sharing classified information. "There are rumors, Iris," she whispered, "about the original first werewolves, the progenitors of our kind. Some say Alpha Roman is a descendant of that ancient bloodline."
Intrigued, I urged her to continue. "Really...tell me more"Ella delved into a tale that seemed straight out of a myth, a story that echoed through generations in hushed whispers.
"Long ago, when the world was still a realm of untamed wilderness, the first werewolves emerged. Unlike us, they seamlessly merged with their wolf counterparts, forging an unbreakable bond. Legends say they could shift at will, even during the full moon, and maintain complete control." She said and I kept listening, Ella was really amazing at storytelling it was so easy to believe everything she was saying.
Ella's eyes sparkled with the thrill of the narrative. "Alpha Roman's ancestors were among those revered originals. They survived alone in the harsh Deadlands, a desolate territory untouched by civilization. It was only later, under the leadership of his father, that they created a hidden pack, sheltered from the chaos beyond."
Listening to the ancient lore, my mind painted vivid images of a bygone era, where werewolves roamed freely, harmonizing with the wild. The idea of being able to merge seamlessly with the wolf within, especially during the tumultuous full moon, fascinated me. It was incredible and actually kind of admired him for it.
"Rumors suggest," Ella continued, "that Alpha Roman's bloodline bestowed him with unique abilities. Some claim he can shift at will, even during the full moon, maintaining unparalleled control. There's talk of him possessing extrasensory gifts, like mind-reading."
I smiled "that's a bit much don't you think"
Ella grinned "well you should probably know by now that nothing is impossible at this point"
I hummed ,she was right nothing should surprise me by now. With everything I have been through and everything I have seen even the biggest 'impossible' was possible. If this story about Roman was true then I had to be extra careful or he would definitely have my head. My plans would all go down the drain and I would be stuck here forever. I cringed at the thought itself.
"His really lucky then" I commented
Ella nodded "he is blessed by the moon goddess herself, touched by her grace"
My skepticism lingered, but the enchanting narrative weaved by Ella unveiled a world where werewolves embraced their dual nature effortlessly. Questions flooded my mind—could Alpha Roman truly shift at will? Was his control during the full moon a testament to the ancient lineage coursing through his veins?
My thoughts were immediately ruined by a young girl who came running "Ella your presence is required immediately!" She spoke breathless
Ella stood up and raised her eyebrows "what is it kara?"
"They spotted something at the borders, it's not human or one of us they say" she explained "please come on!" She said leading the way.
I immediately followed...if it wasn't human I had an idea of what it was. My heart dropped ,how did they make it all the way to the deadlands. It was crazy ,these things were everywhere and spreading like a disease. The people here had no idea about what they were going to face. They would all die in a few seconds if they took this situation for granted.
It couldn't be the banshees ,there was only one way to find out. We rushed to the packhouse, Alpha Roman was already in a serious discussion with a few of his warriors and some elders. There were two men explaining what they saw, I was guessing they were part of the border patrol .
"They looked weak as if they had been in battle but I have never seen anything like them. Pale ,sickly looking creatures and they make the most deafening sound," he shook his head
The other man beside him nodded "they are monsters ,my ears bled when they made that sound. These things Alpha, they are dangerous we need a plan right now"
A very fit woman stood up, when I say fit I mean this woman was gigantic and very muscular. She looked like she lived her entire life lifting trucks. Her hair was almost white and cut short. She looked like she was about 6'4 in height. She folded her arms before she spoke.
"What you are saying doesn't sound realistic Tom,are you sure you two weren't drinking during your shift...again" she narrowed her eyes at them.
Tom the one with the grey eyes and black hair growled "we were not drinking and we are not imagining things. This is real and it is serious"
"Sounds like a whole load of BS" she said sounding bored and unbothered
"They are called banshees and they are very real.So if you all want to live then you better start taking these two young gentlemen serious" I said watching them all before taking a sit and crossing my legs. With the way everyone started mumbling and shit I knew it was going to be a long ass day.
