Jaden Yan's departure left Luna Zhou feeling even more lonely. As she pondered over the words he had spoken before leaving, a mysterious smile crept across her face.
After delivering a few more food orders, Jaden Yan contacted Sherry Nie, intending to return home for dinner.
Unexpectedly, Sherry seemed to be busy again tonight. She hastily told Jaden Yan not to wait for her and hung up the phone.
Just as he put down the phone, his manager called. As soon as Jaden Yan answered, a torrent of abuse poured out: "Jaden Yan, you took a day off yesterday and are slacking today. Look at how few orders you've delivered! If you don't want to work here, just say so. No one will keep you! And don't give me any more complaints!"
After hastily apologizing with a forced smile, Jaden Yan was hung up on by his manager.
Feeling somewhat depressed, he remembered that Sherry wasn't coming home for dinner. Taking a deep breath, he continued riding his scooter to deliver more food.
That night, Sherry Nie returned very late, exhausted. After washing up, she fell asleep without saying much to Jaden Yan.
Lying next to Sherry Nie, Jaden Yan noticed an unusual fragrance emanating from his woman. Normally, Sherry Nie didn't use perfume much to save money. Although he found it somewhat strange, he didn't think much of it.
There were many women in the work environment where Sherry Nie was, so it might be normal for someone to buy perfume and show it off.
Today, Jaden Yan started work very early. After being scolded by his manager yesterday, he decided to seize the morning to deliver as many orders as possible to avoid a poor performance.
In the afternoon, he had to accompany Luna Zhou on some errands, and he didn't know how long that would take.
As noon approached, Jaden Yan arrived at Luna Zhou's house.
Today, she seemed much more normal, dressed in her usual OL uniform, a stark contrast to the melancholic woman he had seen yesterday.
"Here's my plan. Please review it, boss."
Jaden Yan handed over a handwritten plan.
"Okay, here are some new clothes for you. Try them on and see if they fit," Luna Zhou said, taking the plan while pointing to a clothing bag on the side.
Jaden Yan glanced at her sideways. Although he didn't know why she asked him to try on clothes again, he didn't think much of it and took the clothes into a room to change. As he took off his jacket, the woman suddenly pushed open the door.
Luna Zhou stood at the doorway, her eyes feasting on Jaden Yan's muscular physique. She clicked her tongue and said, "Wow, I didn't know you had some muscles."
"Boss, please respect my privacy, okay?"
Jaden Yan was momentarily startled but remained calm, continuing to undress and put on the new clothes.
"You're a man. What are you afraid of? Are you afraid I'll eat you?" Luna Zhou teased.
"I'm not afraid, but I'm curious. Did you open the door just to see my muscles?"
Jaden Yan tilted his head and asked, feeling reluctantly provoked by the woman's flirtatious behavior.
"I wanted to make sure there were no flaws on your body. In case you hook up with that bitch and she doesn't like your body, it would be a waste of my time," Luna Zhou blushed and quickly explained.
"Heh, does that mean you want to try it out, boss?"
Jaden Yan's lips curled into a smile as he stepped forward, almost pressing up against Luna Zhou.
"I..." Seeing the man being so proactive, Luna Zhou's eyes showed a hint of panic, especially when she felt the man's breath approaching. Her cheeks turned even redder.
Jaden Yan bent slightly, and it seemed like his lips were slowly going to kiss the woman's face.
Luna Zhou was somewhat at a loss. She wanted to refuse but also wanted to taste the flavor of this handsome man. Between half-pushing and half-accepting, she even closed her eyes.
However, she didn't expect the man's voice to softly echo in her ear.
"Boss, don't think too much. I said it at the beginning... I don't sell my body!"
Upon hearing these words, Luna Zhou suddenly widened her eyes, filled with anger. Just as she wanted to scold him, a knocking sound came from the doorway.
Luna Zhou looked puzzled. She couldn't think of who would come to her house at this time.
After giving Jaden Yan an angry glance, she walked towards the door.
Jaden Yan shrugged indifferently. Being teased by this woman often, it was actually quite refreshing to tease her back occasionally. Otherwise, she might really think she could do whatever she wanted with her money.
Luna Zhou peered through the peephole and immediately looked delighted, wanting to open the door.
Her hand was just on the doorknob, but she suddenly stopped. She looked nervously at Jaden Yan standing at the doorway of the room and her face turned pale.
Jaden Yan furrowed his brow. The changes on the woman's face were too exaggerated. Who was outside the door that caused such a reaction?
Luna Zhou frantically ran to Jaden Yan's side and whispered anxiously, "What should I do? Henry is back, my husband is back!"
"So what if he's back? What's the problem?"
Jaden Yan asked curiously.
"No! You're in my house! And he rarely comes back. What will he think if he sees you?"
Luna Zhou explained nervously, while another knocking sound and a man's impatient call came from the doorway again.
"It's easy. Just go open the door! Otherwise, if he leaves, it will be troublesome!"
Jaden Yan shrugged. He had already changed into his food delivery uniform and wasn't worried. He directly walked into the kitchen.
Luna Zhou didn't know what Jaden Yan was planning to do. After hearing another knocking sound, she quickly ran to open the door.
"Henry, you're back?"
Opening the door, the woman asked excitedly.
A man glanced at Luna Zhou, then walked into the house with a furrowed brow.
Jaden Yan in the kitchen heard someone come in, deliberately made some noise, and then came out. He glanced at Luna Zhou's husband.
The man was dressed in a suit and tie, all brand-name items, but he wore them casually, unlike Jaden Yan's caution.
He wasn't particularly handsome, but his eyes were particularly deep-set, and his cheeks had a rugged look, giving off an aura of authority without needing to be angry. He was probably around thirty years old, and every move he made exuded the quality of a successful man.
Seeing Jaden Yan come out of the kitchen, the man furrowed his brow and stared at him warily. However, he noticed Jaden Yan's food delivery uniform and his expression eased slightly.
"Boss, I checked your gas stove. It's out of batteries. Just replace it, and it should be fine. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now. Enjoy your meal and please give me a five-star review!"
This was a standard line used by food delivery guys. It wasn't uncommon for delivery riders to be used as all kinds of talents these days. Jaden Yan conveniently played the role of a repairman.
