"Ah! Thank you!" Luna Zhou quickly responded with gratitude.
Her husband, however, frowned slightly and said to Jaden Yan as he walked towards the door, "The gas stove should be repaired by the gas company. What if something goes wrong because you called someone randomly? You're still as careless as before, never thinking things through!"
Jaden Yan clearly heard these words, which made him a bit unhappy. Was this man using his casual excuse to scold Luna Zhou?
Despite his anger, Jaden Yan didn't want to argue. Just as he took a few steps, the man's unmasked voice came again, "This is the divorce agreement. Sign it!"
Jaden Yan was shocked. Did this man come back just to divorce Luna Zhou?
As expected, Luna Zhou's hysterical voice rang out.
Hearing her bitter cries, Jaden Yan felt a pang of sadness. After a slight frown, he walked downstairs.
However, Jaden Yan didn't leave. He chose to lean in a corner and light a cigarette, waiting quietly.
Before long, Luna Zhou's husband came downstairs with a cold expression, got into a Range Rover, and drove away.
At this moment, Jaden Yan took the last puff of his cigarette, threw away the butt, and turned to walk upstairs.
Before reaching Luna Zhou's room, he heard her hysterical cries.
Jaden Yan sighed and walked upstairs, seeing Luna Zhou sitting on the floor, her arm injured with a blood trail along her fair skin, looking quite shocking.
"Henry, come back... I don't want a divorce!" Luna Zhou covered her face, crying bitterly, not noticing Jaden Yan approaching.
"Stop crying!" Jaden Yan said softly as he walked up to Luna Zhou.
"Henry... you're back?" Luna Zhou looked up with a tear-streaked face, initially relieved, but upon seeing Jaden Yan, she became even more upset and cried harder, "Why is it you! What are you doing here! I want Henry, I want Henry back!"
"He is gone and won't come back!" Jaden Yan frowned.
"No! He will come back! Get out! Get out! Go and get that bitch for me! I want Henry to know that only I am the best for him! Get out! Get out now!"
Luna Zhou became hysterical, looking at Jaden Yan with madness in her eyes, pointing downstairs.
Jaden Yan felt a bit annoyed. He came up to comfort her out of concern, but she didn't appreciate it and told him to leave.
Angry, Jaden Yan turned to leave, but after descending two flights of stairs, he turned back and strode up to her.
Without caring about her struggles, he carried her into the room.
"Let me go! What are you doing! I told you to leave! I don't need your fake kindness!" Luna Zhou cursed angrily.
Jaden Yan said nothing, just carried her into the room, closed the door with his foot, and placed her on the sofa.
"Bastard! Scum! Get out! I don't need you! I don't need your fake kindness! If you want to help me, go and get Henry back!" Luna Zhou continued to curse.
Jaden Yan remained silent, standing quietly and watching the hysterical woman.
Seeing the blood on her arm, he frowned slightly, wondering how she got such a deep cut, staining her clothes with blood.
After looking around her house, he found a towel in the bathroom, some tissues from the dining table, and a first aid kit from a cabinet. He then squatted in front of Luna Zhou.
Jaden Yan grabbed Luna Zhou's shoulders, looking up at her tear-filled eyes, and sternly said, "Luna Zhou! Stop crying! Listen to me!"
His stern voice made Luna Zhou stop crying, looking at him with a sorrowful expression.
"Your husband just drove away and won't come back! Crying won't help! He left because he doesn't care about you! You're only hurting yourself! Listen! Stop crying!" Jaden Yan ordered.
Luna Zhou looked pitiful, but Jaden Yan's words made her sob quietly instead of crying loudly.
"You're so beautiful, are you afraid of not finding another man? As a man, I can tell you, the more you cling to him, the less he cares about you! Crying won't bring him back!" Jaden Yan continued to persuade.
"Cling to him? Bring him back? Tell me, will Henry come back? Will he come back to me?" Luna Zhou looked at Jaden Yan with hope.
"He will! But not if you stay like this! Even I would be put off by your current state!" Jaden Yan nodded seriously.
"Then tell me, what should I do!" Luna Zhou grabbed Jaden Yan's arm, seemingly oblivious to the pain in her own arm.
"Don't worry! I'll help you! We have a plan, right? First, get rid of the woman seducing your man, then gradually improve yourself to win him back! Trust me! I'll help you!" Jaden Yan said solemnly.
He didn't want to see her like this. Jaden Yan could have left, but he feared she might do something foolish.
From their interactions, Jaden Yan knew Luna Zhou cared deeply about her husband, even losing herself.
Whether out of compassion or interest, Jaden Yan couldn't let Luna Zhou get hurt.
"I trust you! I believe you can bring Henry back to me. I'll give you any amount of money! I'll do anything you ask!"
Luna Zhou placed all her hopes on Jaden Yan.
Jaden Yan closed his eyes briefly, feeling both pity and fear for the lost woman.
He didn't doubt that if he promised to bring Henry back, Luna Zhou might give him all her money.
But Jaden Yan wouldn't do that. Calming his emotions, he opened his eyes and gently said, "Calm down. Your arm is injured, let me treat it."
Jaden Yan's words seemed to have a magical effect, and Luna Zhou obediently let him clean her wound, disinfect, and bandage it.
She then sat on the sofa like a puppet, her eyes filled with hope as she looked at Jaden Yan.
Seeing her lost and forlorn state, Jaden Yan felt conflicted.
He wanted to leave, thinking she had calmed down, but he was still worried.
"Listen, your clothes are stained with blood. Change them, have a good meal, and get some rest. Things will get better!" Jaden Yan squatted in front of Luna Zhou, comforting her.
"Are you leaving?" Luna Zhou asked blankly.
"Yes, it's getting late. I have to go to work and then go home!" Jaden Yan nodded.
"Don't go! Please don't leave me alone!"
Hearing that Jaden Yan was leaving, Luna Zhou became agitated again, hugging him tightly.
With too much force, she knocked Jaden Yan to the ground, clinging to him like an octopus.
