Jaden Yan placed the food on the table and poured a glass of red wine, nodding before returning to his seat. Jenny Ye glanced at the food he brought and smiled, "How did you know I only eat fruit at night?"
"Just a guess. I think most women nowadays are very conscious about their weight. Not eating at night is common, but it's not good for the health. Eating some fruit can at least supplement vitamins," Jaden Yan explained with a smile.
"You're quite thoughtful." Jenny Ye smiled, raising the wine glass Jaden Yan had brought, "Let's toast to our new friendship."
"Haha, are we friends now? We just met," Jaden Yan joked.
"What? You don't want to be friends with a beautiful woman like me? Besides, this isn't our first meeting," Jenny Ye raised an eyebrow.
"Of course, I'd love to. It's my honor. I just thought today was our official meeting and was worried you wouldn't want to," Jaden Yan smiled, raising his glass.
The red wine swirled as their glasses clinked, then slid down their throats. Jaden Yan noticed Jenny Ye drinking the wine he offered without hesitation, a slight smile forming on his lips.
A woman who doesn't refuse a man's drink shows a weak sense of defense and a potential hint of interest. However, Jaden Yan had no ill intentions. He just wanted to gradually attract her and complete Luna Zhou's task, then disappear with the 200,000 yuan.
If he really got involved with Jenny Ye, he would feel guilty towards Sherry and might cause unnecessary trouble.
As the atmosphere around them grew more intimate, they gradually opened up and chatted after a few toasts. Jaden Yan remained cautious, answering Jenny Ye's questions flawlessly. However, when he asked about her, she always found ways to change the subject, seemingly unwilling to discuss her matters.
As time passed, people at the banquet finished their meals and left, some men escorting their tipsy female companions to their rooms, hinting at what might happen next.
They drank a moderate amount, and Jenny Ye seemed slightly tipsy, her cheeks flushed, her eyes carrying a hint of allure as she looked at Jaden Yan.
"Red wine has a strong aftereffect. I feel a bit dizzy even though I didn't drink much," Jenny Ye said with a hint of drunkenness.
"If you can't drink, don't force it. Should I get you some juice to sober up?" Jaden Yan asked.
"Sober up? Haha..." Jenny Ye laughed like a silver bell, glancing at him, "No need. I thought you'd keep persuading me to drink... You're different from other men."
"What's different? Don't we all have two eyes and a mouth? Do I have three heads and six arms?" Jaden Yan joked.
"Three heads and six arms? Are you Cerberus? Why didn't I meet you earlier?" Jenny Ye shook her head, seemingly disappointed.
"What's the difference? Meeting now isn't too late," Jaden Yan smiled, standing up and walking to her side, "Do you need help getting back to your room? You seem a bit drunk."
"Back to the room?" Jenny Ye looked at him with a hint of meaning, as if seeing through his thoughts, then smiled, "Going back so early is boring. Isn't there a hot spring at the resort? How about soaking in the hot spring after a rest?"
"Hot spring? Sure..." Jaden Yan nodded, unsure of her intentions.
Sitting down again, he glanced around and suddenly saw a man holding a familiar woman walking into a corner. A quick glance made him think the woman looked like Sherry.
Recalling the woman he saw while getting food, he wondered: Could it be Sherry? How could she be here?
Feeling confused, Jaden Yan instinctively stood up to check. At that moment, his phone rang.
His thoughts interrupted, he glanced at the puzzled Jenny Ye, realizing his mistake. He steadied himself, checked the phone, and apologized, "Sorry, I need to take this call."
He glanced once more in the direction Sherry had gone before stepping aside to answer, "Hello, what's up?"
"Just checking if everything's going smoothly," Luna Zhou asked.
"Not bad. We're having dinner," Jaden Yan whispered.
"Dinner? Drinking?" Luna Zhou asked excitedly.
"Yes, she seems not good at drinking. I was planning to take her back to her room," Jaden Yan replied honestly.
"Great! Get her drunk and then... you know. Take some photos!" Luna Zhou instructed excitedly.
"No, I said I wouldn't do that. She's just a bit tipsy. I can't tell if she's testing me. She mentioned going to the hot spring later," Jaden Yan refused.
"What are you thinking? Get her drunk and do it! Once you have evidence, the task is complete. Why so hesitant? If you think the money isn't enough, I'll add more!" Luna Zhou urged.
"It's not about the money. We have an agreement. I'll do it if necessary, but she's not as simple as she seems. She might be still testing me," Jaden Yan explained, feeling they were getting too close too quickly.
After a moment of silence, Luna Zhou spoke again, "Fine, handle it your way. Remember, you only have three days at the resort. If you can't do it, I'll do it my way!"
"Your way? Don't mess things up! If the task fails, don't blame me!" Jaden Yan warned.
"Failure? No way. Just stay close to her at the resort. I'll notify my husband to catch you two in the act. He just needs to see you being intimate. That way, you won't have to do anything against your will," Luna Zhou suggested.
"Hah... Do you think it's that simple? I said she's not simple. She seems to accept me but is still cautious. If you call your husband, it might backfire. He might think you're up to something and spend sweet days with her at the resort," Jaden Yan sneered.
