Chapter 25 - Creating a big Enemy

Gasps of shock and whispers filled the whole room at the unexpected turn of things. The teacher himself had his mouth wide open, quite unable to believe what he had just heard, but then anger filled his whole being.

His target had made it simple for him! Here he as a teacher he will have all the rights in his hands!

Subtle changes started happening in the atmosphere before the students could feel it, the teacher was striding to the back where Peter sat.

The air seemed to be cracking when he moved, yet everything went back to normal as it had been before when the teacher reached a few meters from Peter, looking at him with an angered smile.

"Foul-mouthed, huh? You have the guts for an Ember awakened and a complete newbie, to dare say that to a teacher... much less me?" he said in a disbelieving tone, trying hard to contain his anger.

Peter, on the other hand, continued looking at him with no meaningful expression on his face, hard to read what was going on in his mind.

Truth be told, he didn't intend for his words to be heard but since the class was quiet and paying their attention to him, his words didn't go unheard.

The teacher wondered why the boy wasn't scared.

"To have such audacity, you must be from an Ancient Family, and it has to be the most powerful since most of them, the Ancient Descendant Freshers, are always docile before me! Only the most powerful can be this arrogant." he said, proud of the fear he induces in the young ones.

But his words were just lies, he knew who Peter was, he was his target, so he was just probing to see what the "boy toy" would say. Would he think he's some big shit just because he had Sylvie to back him? Or will he be an easy target he's supposed to be and recoil under the gaze of the "predator"?

Teeth grounding sound came from not one but different directions in class—the said Ancient Descendants he was talking about.

"So who are you, boy, to dare say that to a teacher?" he asked drawing closer to Peter.

"Do I need status to point out something wrong? And it isn't like I'm the only one who entered but you chose me particularly. Why?" eyes widened, what was the boy thinking? And he wasn't done yet:

"If saying the truth perhaps angered you then I am... No, it's up to you; my mother raised me to always be well-mannered and, ahh... I am not good with words." Afterward, he kept quiet and proceeded to pick a book from his bag.

[Hey, you don't have a mother remember!] Elena reminded him.

"Doesn't matter, am sure she would have taught me that much," Elena giggled.

[By the way, it's good that you did as I told you. This teacher seems to have his own agenda. He has been looking at you since you entered the class, I can sense his malice!]

"But I'm new here. I can't possibly have garned his attention, right?" He replied to Elena in his mind.

[It can only be...]

"Sylvie?" Peter finished.

The nonchalance of the boy annoyed the teacher, not to mention his rude and uncaring attitude they were all the same.

"I guess you don't know what you're messing with, young Ancient Descendant!" now he wasn't just making up his anger. He was angry.

His hands were lit with a blue light, looking at it, the students nearby made some distance and got their phones to record the ongoing spectacle.

[The irony!] Peter didn't know which one Elena was relating to and refused to even bother thinking only glancing at the clawed blue lit-up hand, briefly.

"I don't think the words you're using on us students are the official language you're supposed to be using. Mind your back by the way—word of advice!" prompted the teacher to turn around; he saw several phones pointing his way.

He unwillingly discarded his threatsand turned to leave.

"New students, come to the front and introduce yourself to the whole class!" while he was moving after speaking, he caught up on a certain rumor.

"That's the handsome man who was with Young Miss Sylvie, right?" a girl had asked her friend, who answered;

"Who else can be as handsome? Only a handful can be second to him; Sylvie got herself such a cutie!" although bold, it was just enough.

The teacher on the other hand, smiled devilishly, oh how happy a certain "Dragon" was going to be in need his help!

Problem was solved! He didn't need to lift a finger and that obsessed dragon will come running to him.

After the introduction part was over, he only mentioned one name—not that he had more—he sat back in his seat, and it seemed the girl he had bumped into who was new, had a high status on her back.

Much as he paid little attention to the chatter in class, his ears were able to pick up how high her status was, her background was no less than Sylvie's.

As usual, he stopped paying attention to this, he wanted to be as less connected as he could with these guys.

The more people he knew the more he would be acquitted to them, increasing the chances of being exposed.

He wasn't doing that.

"...Until you're able to get your True Weapon, that is after the first tower, you're to go into the armory to pick up your favorable weapons, get used to it as much as you, not that you need that last though, that's pretty much you'll be doing until we meet tomorrow.

"Word of advice, as that guy told me, soak in as much information on Tower Beasts as you can, your life depends on it. Though, given your background, you know plenty of this information, and the rank of the tower you're going into is not of a higher rank, hopefully!" after giving his piece, he left the class.

For some unknown reasons, many girls tried to approach Peter when the teacher was out, yet to their surprise, Peter had zoomed out of the class at a fast speed.

It was the gust of wind he left behind that said 'hi" to these girls.

"He must be shy!" They concluded.

Outside, he browsed through the map of the Academy on the ID Watch, getting the location of the Armory, he walked there.

"What was that hot gaze?" while walking Peter asked Elena.

When he was leaving the class, he felt a hot gaze on him; although many were looking at him, this one out of all was different from them.

Strangely, he felt no malice from it, yet his body reacted; he shivered once again, remembering it.

[I have no idea, but one thing is for sure: avoid whoever that person is at all costs of you're able to know who it was!] Peter wanted to ask why she thought so but didn't.

She based on the reaction of his body to give such a conclusion and didn't disagree with Elena's statement.

Whoever they were, they spelled trouble!

He had that feeling.

It wasn't long before he was in the armory of the academy; in the large, dimly lit hall-like room, many weapons could be seen.

Some hang on the wall while some are in glass containers with five to ten weapons clean from dust, shining menacingly and showing their splendid.

With the dim light, the shine of these weapons brought more attention to observers.

Swords, spears, maces, Halberds, there were just so many weapons in the room with their ranks next to their names.

Yet, Peter no matter how he observed, found no weapon to choose, then... he saw it...
