Chapter 27 - Unconquered Sea, First Fight

There was a reason why the system gave him such type of mission, to survive, which somehow implied the sea was dangerous, maybe the horrors it housed were, at least, shading him a distinctive picture of the hidden meaning of its name, the Unconquered Sea!

As far as the knowledge fed to him and the other academy students, all the dangerous zones had been cleared out of life-threatening beasts making them Green, living there only the Basic and Adapt beasts the newly awakened could face.

Although incidents would happen where Expert and King Beasts would cross to the green towers it was only once in a thousand times.

Chances for this are just so slim for the academy to consider it happening, yet it was always better to be safe than sorry. That's why Christian had told them to be cautious and not to be surprised if the portals led them to an unconquered domain.

And... Peter, here he was in the unconquered zone, and a whole damn sea at that!

Given his luck, he inclined to the fact that it wasn't that nobody had ever stumbled onto this zone to remain unexplored up to until now, it was that doing so was impossible.

They had failed!

And he had to survive for his life, in the zone that refused to be conquered to become a "kids'" playground.

His instincts suddenly kicked in making Peter tighten his guard to be ready to face the unknown, whichever would come from the depth of the damned waters.

Coming to an abrupt stop, He peered far into them straining his eyes, and looking all around him, he could see nothing but water.

Not being one to easily be fooled, he looked more, and finally, his eyes caught on something super speeding towards him with intense bloodlust.

All he could see was a super huge red thing heading toward him; for a moment, time seemed to freeze all around him; he, too, could only stare at the approaching monstrosity, unable to do anything.

[Fool! Dodge to your left!] Elena's voice boomed in his head waking him from his stun.

Reacting fast, moved at the highest speed he could master and dodged, but it was too late.

Something hit him point black into the chest hurling him a distance away, a wave of pain washed over him from his chest. The blow was so powerful and made him cough a mouthful of blood that he lost sight of it as it disappeared into the water. Worst part, his ribcage was nearly shattered but his healing kicked in.

Closing his mouth to stop water from entering his mouth, he finally looked at the thing that had reduced him to that level.

It turned out to be a large crab, one hell of a giant crab that could swallow him in a single breath. Standing, or rather floating on eight limbs with sharp pointed ends that support its large body and long branch-tall antennas.

The last pair of its legs, the fifth pair, had two pairs of pincers on their ends on the propodus, which he assumed it would use to pierce and grab.

What disturbed him the most was the monster's impenetrable metallic body; how the hell was he going to hurt, much less kill the thing?

"No worries!" finding himself a solution he sped to the approaching thing.

[Are you a maniac!] Elena roared but Peter didn't care. What was he supposed to do? Wait and be attacked or to stupidly think he could outrun this thing here in it's territory? Worse, it could even push him into it's domain. Peter was sure it was a Basic rank beast that was for sure. So he decided to face it.

Ducking down, dodging the second of its attacks, he got just below it, and like any brute, Peter punched the thing with all he got, right below it in the middle of its lower abdomen.

Crack!

After the cracking sound, a sickening sound filled the dark blue waters that lacked enough light.

"My hand..." At a shocking speed, his wrist healed before he could finish. Looking at the beast he had sent into the distance he felt happy.

His powerful punch was able to crack the hard body of the monster, yet that couldn't kill it unless he wanted to keep punching it for an hour.

And it's not like it won't retaliate!

"Look for the heart, or it's the weak point!" with his special eye trait, he followed the red lines of the monster to find their source, and he did!

Yet, that was the most protected part of the monster.

"What did I think." He rolled his eyes and braced himself for the attack, cross-closing his arms. The hit connected, but he wasn't pushed away.

In the middle of his smile, he felt a stab in his back; not willing to waste time to see what had stabbed him, he pushed forward to pull himself away from the dangerous pincer of the thing.

[Ding, you have been poisoned, you will lose consciousness in two minutes!]

"What the actual fuck!" momentarily dazed he got himself another hit in the abdomen. Pushing him at the back.

[Don't get dazed in the middle of a fight no matter what it is!] Elena shouted at him.

[1:23]

Filled with anger, Peter attacked head-on. Getting hold of the two pincer legs of the monster, he yanked with pull power, and at the same time, he kicked the thing straight on its head.

The powerful kick propelled it backward, and with the two pincers still in his hold, the force had separated them from the monster's body.

The gush of blood was immediately washed away by the waves of water. He wasn't done, though; while screeching in pain, Peter was already before it, ready to punch its head.

In retaliation, it spits something through its large mouth, dodging on time, only a drop of the blue substance was able to touch his left hand.

Pain stunk him, but he decided to leave the discovering part to his system.

[You can not regenerate after getting affected by the Swred saliva!] and that was bad news to him.

But he had finally found an opening, where the neck connected to the large body of the monster, was a small space, the only place where the annoying red plate armour wasn't.

His nails turned into claws, and with lightning-fast speed, he pierced in between the neck of the terror before it could react bathing his right hand bloody.

Like an airless balloon, the large body slumped ready to afloat, but he caught it before it could; in the water, it weighed less.

[Ding, you have slain an Adept rank, Swred Crab...]
