Yaxoc and Yaxocara were sleeping peacefully, nestled in the comfort of their modest quarters, until the silence was shattered by a deafening explosion that rattled their surroundings. Both jolted awake, startled and disoriented.
"Was that you again, Yaxoc?!" Yaxocara barked, glaring at him.
Yaxoc groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Ugh, not this time! Let's check it ou—" He stopped mid-sentence as the room darkened unnaturally. A swirling black hole materialized out of nowhere, pulsating ominously in the air before them.
"What the hell is a black hole doing here?" Yaxocara asked, wide-eyed. "Shouldn't it be, you know, consuming us or something?"
Yaxoc stared at the anomaly, his brows furrowed. "Normally, yeah. If you feel like time's slowing down, that's a clear sign of being sucked in. But this one's… weird. No time dilation."
"Great, another 'weird case.' It's probably some overpowered entity messing with us again," Yaxocara muttered, crossing her arms.
Before Yaxoc could respond, the black hole distorted, and from its depths emerged a towering figure.
The demon stepped forward, its glowing white eyes piercing the darkness. Its body was a mix of grey, swirling with faint, shadowy currents. Black horns twisted upward, pulsating with miniature black holes that seemed frozen in time. Its massive wings, a blend of black and white, stretched wide as if to challenge the heavens themselves.
Yaxoc tilted his head. "Oh, great. And who might you be, Mr. Spooky?"
The demon's voice was calm, almost unnervingly so. "I am Heidong, a Type 4 demon sent to extinguish mortal threats like yourselves. Consider yourselves fortunate to witness my form before your demise."
Yaxocara shot Yaxoc a look. "Didn't expect this guy to be so... polite. Kind of takes the edge off."
Yaxoc shrugged. "Yeah, I was ready for some over-the-top evil monologue. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed." He turned back to Heidong. "Listen, big guy. If you're here to 'extinguish' us, how about doing it somewhere less cramped?"
Heidong nodded without hesitation and raised a hand. A pulse of energy engulfed them, and in an instant, Yaxoc and Yaxocara found themselves standing in an empty, barren field under a starless sky.
"Okay, that was unexpected," Yaxocara said, scanning their surroundings. "Let's see what this guy's made of."
Without a word, Heidong raised his hands, summoning spheres of concentrated darkness. They pulsated with greenish light, radiating poison. With a flick of his wrist, Heidong hurled them at Yaxocara.
She dodged swiftly, her movements fluid and precise. "Darkness and poison? Real original!" she quipped, as Yaxoc joined her side.
"This guy's got some serious power," Yaxoc muttered, drawing his blade. "Let's not give him a chance to show it off."
He raised his sword, chanting, "Artificial Magic: Light Slash!" Bright, radiant slashes arced through the air, streaking toward Heidong.
The attacks struck their target, but Heidong remained unfazed. "Light magic will not harm me," he stated, his tone cold and unbothered.
"What? Why not?" Yaxoc demanded.
"Type 4 demons are immune to most conventional magics, including light. Only something imbued with Angelic Essence can touch me."
Yaxoc smirked, his sword glowing faintly. "Lucky for you, I've got plenty of that." He called upon his Angelic Essence, his aura intensifying.
Beside him, Yaxocara mirrored his actions, her essence flaring to life. "You're not the only one," she said with a determined grin.
Heidong's glowing eyes flickered with interest. "Even the girl possesses Angelic Essence. Unexpected, but irrelevant."
Yaxoc and Yaxocara charged simultaneously, their strikes coordinated and swift. They aimed for weak points, delivering blows that should have left even a demon reeling. But Heidong was relentless, dodging with eerie precision.
When the two got too close, Heidong grabbed their faces mid-attack, smashing their foreheads together with a sickening crack.
"Argh!" Yaxoc groaned, stumbling back.
"Damn it!" Yaxocara hissed, clutching her head.
Heidong didn't let up, delivering a powerful kick that sent them sprawling.
"This guy's too calm for someone supposedly fighting for his life," Yaxoc muttered, standing shakily.
"We need to put him under pressure," Yaxocara said, brushing herself off. "Make it harder for him to keep countering."
They split up, attacking from opposite sides, hoping to overwhelm Heidong. But the demon saw through their plan, slamming both of them into the ground with a single, brutal motion.
"You're persistent, I'll give you that," Heidong said, standing over them. "But persistence without power is meaningless."
Yaxoc slowly pushed himself up, glaring. "Say that again."
In a burst of speed, he closed the gap and landed a punch square in Heidong's gut. The demon barely flinched.
"What the hell is this guy made of?" Yaxoc muttered.
"Is this the strongest demon we've ever fought?" Yaxocara asked, her voice tinged with frustration.
"Probably…" Yaxoc trailed off, his mind racing. "Wait. He controls darkness, right? What if his regeneration comes from it?"
Yaxocara scoffed. "That's ridiculous. Black holes consume light, not darkness. Have you even been to a science class?"
Yaxoc facepalmed. "Okay, fine! But he's got some kind of trick, and we need to figure it out fast."
Yaxocara narrowed her eyes at Heidong. "Actually… watch how he moves. He keeps shifting positions slightly, even when he doesn't need to. That's a tell."
"A tell of what?"
"He's anchored to something. Look at his horns—they're drawing energy. My guess? Dimensional cables."
Yaxoc blinked. "Dimensional what now?"
"They're invisible, unbreakable lines that tap into other dimensions for energy. Someone—or something—set him up with those."
Yaxoc groaned. "Great. So we're fighting a demon plugged into an infinite power source. Any ideas on how to unplug him?"
Yaxocara smirked. "Leave that to me. Keep him busy, will you?"
"Busy? Sure. Getting my butt kicked? Not so sure," Yaxoc muttered, dashing toward Heidong.
The battle continued, but now Yaxocara had a plan. Would they find a way to sever Heidong's connection and bring him down, or would the Type 4 demon prove too much for even their combined strength?
Yaxoc's relentless fists pounded against Heidong, aiming to throw him off guard. The demon, however, remained unaffected, his glowing eyes burning with disdain. As Heidong's aura flared up, Yaxoc was struck by an invisible force, causing him to stumble back.
"Fool," Heidong muttered, the word heavy with contempt.
Suddenly, a flash of silver light caught Heidong's attention. Yaxocara stood firm, her blade now shimmering in a way that distorted reality itself. Its surface reflected nothing but an endless void, proof of its dimensional transcendence.
"HEY, HEIDONG!" she shouted, gripping her blade tightly.
Heidong's gaze narrowed, his expression uncharacteristically serious. "When did you acquire that weapon?"
"WHO CARES? EAT THIS!" Yaxocara lunged forward with a roar, slicing through the invisible dimensional cables tethering Heidong to his black hole energy source. Sparks of cosmic light scattered across the battlefield as the cables snapped.
The demon's calm demeanor shattered. His voice roared like thunder. "You little brat!" Heidong surged forward, grabbing Yaxocara by the neck and slamming her into the ground with monstrous strength.
Yaxocara groaned but retaliated with a sharp kick to his jaw, sending him stumbling backward. She smirked as she rose to her feet. "Your weakness was the cables. Too bad for you, I've got the brains and the blade to handle them."
Heidong glared at her, his fury palpable. "That won't be enough to stop me—" His words were cut off as Yaxocara darted forward and drove her blade deep into his torso.
"Gotcha—" she began, but Heidong roared and hurled her across the battlefield, her body skidding to a halt on the cracked earth.
The demon grabbed the blade protruding from his chest and shattered it with ease. Cosmic fragments fell like stars around him. "I'll destroy your existence, piece by piece!"
Yaxoc, witnessing the brutality, clenched his fists in rage. He bolted forward, his movements leaving streaks of light behind. "HOW ABOUT YOU DESTROY THIS?" he shouted, landing a thunderous punch directly on Heidong's face. The impact reverberated through the ground, sending the demon crashing into a nearby mountain, which crumbled under the force.
Yaxocara stood, battered but determined, and watched as Heidong emerged from the rubble. His aura was darker than before, pulsating with malevolent energy.
"Enough games," Heidong growled. "I'll use 100% of my power. With this, I will annihilate your universe!"
"No way!" Yaxoc yelled, panic creeping into his voice.
"Crap! We have to stop him!" Yaxocara shouted.
Both fighters unleashed their full power. Golden light enveloped Yaxoc, while a radiant silver glow surrounded Yaxocara.
"Ready!?" Yaxoc called out.
"I'm always ready! LET'S GO!" Yaxocara responded, determination etched on her face.
They charged at Heidong with everything they had, but an immense shockwave from the demon's aura knocked them back. The sheer force left the ground scorched.
"It's too late!" Yaxoc muttered in disbelief, watching as Heidong's form began to change.
The demon's body grew taller, his horns extending and warping like tendrils of pure void. His wings expanded, dark and jagged, with veins of glowing white light coursing through them. His eyes now flickered between white and black, a harbinger of chaos and order colliding.
"Welcome to my special hell," Heidong declared, his voice echoing with a sinister resonance.
He vanished in an instant.
Yaxoc's instincts kicked in. He closed his eyes, focusing on the faint distortions in the air. The moment he sensed movement, he spun around and landed a powerful punch to Heidong's face.
"Gotcha!" Yaxoc shouted.
Before Heidong could recover, Yaxocara lunged at him with a front kick, but Heidong caught her leg mid-air and countered with a brutal throw. She landed hard but rolled to her feet, her face twisted in frustration.
"You idiot!" she snapped at Yaxoc.
Without missing a beat, she raised her hands. "Artificial Magic: WIND PUSH!"
A gust of wind erupted, slamming into Heidong and forcing him back.
"Thanks, Yaxocara!" Yaxoc called out as he regained his footing. He turned to the demon, his expression fierce. "Get ready."
Yaxoc charged again, landing a series of rapid punches, but Heidong evaded each one with ease. The demon retaliated, but Yaxoc dashed behind him, grinning. "ANGELIC FLASH!"
A blinding light erupted from Yaxoc's fist as it connected with Heidong's back. The impact sent the demon hurtling across the battlefield, directly toward Yaxocara.
"Your turn!" Yaxoc shouted.
Yaxocara caught Heidong mid-air, delivering a flurry of precise strikes. Her final blow—a glowing punch to his face—sent the demon flying back.
Heidong landed with a thunderous crash, struggling to rise.
"Gates," Yaxoc said, his voice steady.
"Of," Yaxocara added, their voices harmonizing.
"HEAVENS!" they shouted in unison.
A beam of celestial light descended from the sky, piercing through Heidong's chest. The demon's screams echoed as the light engulfed him entirely. When it faded, all that remained was silence.
Yaxoc dropped to one knee, panting. "We did it."
Yaxocara, equally exhausted, smirked. "About time. That guy was a pain."
As the dust settled, the duo stood side by side, victorious yet wary of what other challenges lay ahead.
