Chereads / Yaxoc's Adventure: Act 4 / Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Demon Of Infinity

Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Demon Of Infinity

Yaxoc and Yaxocara walked through the bustling streets of the city, the aftermath of last night's battle lingering in the air like a bad memory. The occasional passerby glanced at them, their expressions filled with a mix of awe and unease. For the saviors, this was just another day—but for the citizens, their world had been shaken.

"Marcus has been hospitalized due to that serious injury he got infected last night while we fought Tetrada," Yaxocara said, her tone heavy with concern. She clutched her arm, the faint scar of a long wound still visible. "Just how dangerous was she? She even managed to give me this."

"Yeah," Yaxoc replied, his brow furrowing. "But at least it didn't get infected like Marcus' wound. That's the last thing we need right now."

Before they could continue, a flash of light signaled the sudden arrival of Heraphiel, descending gracefully from the sky. His wings shimmered, catching the sunlight in a way that was almost blinding.

"Hey, guys," Heraphiel said, his voice carrying an urgency that made Yaxoc and Yaxocara instantly snap to attention. "Did you hear about another demon coming to this planet?"

The pair exchanged glances, their expressions darkening.

"Wait, seriously?" Yaxoc asked. "Is it another Type 4 demon like Tetrada?"

Heraphiel's expression turned grim. "Yeah, but this one's different. It's not just a Type 4. It has the potential to go beyond even that. Its stats are... infinite."

The words hit Yaxoc and Yaxocara like a thunderclap.

"Infinite!?" Yaxoc exclaimed, his eyes wide.

"No way!" Yaxocara said, shaking her head in disbelief.

Heraphiel nodded solemnly. "Apparently, Ogamak once held infinite power, but he transferred it to the demon he trusted most. That demon is now heading straight for us."

"What kind of abilities are we dealing with?" Yaxoc asked, his fists clenching.

"Like the name suggests, all of his abilities have infinity as their core mechanic," Heraphiel explained. "There's no bypass unless you've mastered Angelic Essence. Have you?"

Yaxoc nodded. "Yeah, I've mastered it."

Heraphiel's expression softened slightly. "Good. You'll need to awaken its full potential to stand a chance against him. And as for you, Yaxocara, your Duality Essence is one of the few things that can also counter infinity."

Yaxocara's eyes widened in surprise. "For real?"

Heraphiel nodded. "Yeah. But I'm in a rush. I need to notify my archangels to track this demon. Good luck, and stay alive!" With that, Heraphiel shot back into the sky, disappearing as suddenly as he'd arrived.

Yaxoc and Yaxocara looked at each other, a mixture of determination and unease etched on their faces.

"This is bad," Yaxoc muttered. "I didn't expect a demon this powerful to show up out of nowhere."

"Neither did I," Yaxocara replied. "But if what Heraphiel said is true, we're in for the fight of our lives."

Before they could strategize further, a chilling presence filled the air. Out of nowhere, a figure appeared in front of them without a sound or warning. The demon stood tall, its black jacket and white body creating a stark contrast. Horns jutted out from its head, and its black eyes seemed to pierce through their souls. Its wings stretched menacingly behind it.

"Well, well, well," the demon said, a cocky smirk on its face. "Some weaklings are getting involved in matters far beyond their understanding."

"Who are you?" Yaxoc demanded, stepping forward.

"The name's Apeiron," the demon replied, brushing imaginary dust off its shoulder. "And you'll remember that name when you're groveling at my feet."

Yaxoc and Yaxocara immediately assumed fighting stances, their auras flaring to life.

Apeiron chuckled, his voice dripping with mockery. "Oh, getting ready to fight? How quaint. What makes you think you can even touch me?"

Without hesitation, Yaxoc lunged forward, his fist aimed straight at Apeiron's face. But before his punch could connect, an invisible barrier erupted in front of Apeiron, sending Yaxoc flying backward.

"An infinite barrier!?" Yaxocara exclaimed. "This is insane!"

Yaxoc groaned as he pushed himself back to his feet. "Heraphiel mentioned that our essences could bypass infinity... but there's something we're missing."

"His stats are infinite," Yaxocara said, her mind racing. "That means it's not just his abilities we're up against. His raw power is off the charts."

"Alright," Yaxoc said, his voice steady. "New plan. We'll use our essences together. He's cocky, but that might be his weakness."

Yaxocara nodded. "Got it. Let's do this."

Yaxoc closed his eyes, focusing his energy. "Angelic Essence!"

A radiant aura enveloped him, growing brighter and brighter until a halo formed above his head. The sheer power of it made the air around him hum with energy.

Yaxocara watched in awe. "Impressive. My turn."

She took a deep breath. "Angelic Essence. Demonic Essence."

Her aura erupted, a swirling mix of light and darkness. The contrasting energies merged, creating a dazzling display of power. "Mixing two elements together creates something greater: Duality Essence!"

Apeiron watched them, his smirk never faltering. "Impressive. But do you really think that's enough to stop me?"

Yaxoc wasted no time. He dashed forward, his fist glowing with angelic energy. This time, his punch connected, shattering the infinite barrier and sending Apeiron stumbling backward.

"Take that, you moron!" Yaxoc shouted.

Before Apeiron could recover, Yaxocara teleported behind him. "Looking for someone?" she said, smirking.

Apeiron spun around, attempting to strike her, but she teleported again, this time appearing above him. "Reversal of Opposite Energy!" she chanted, firing a powerful purple blast. The attack radiated with gravitational force, pulling everything around it toward the demon.

Apeiron narrowly dodged, his speed a blur. "Damn... That blast was no joke."

"These two managed to bypass my infinity," he muttered to himself. "But my stats remain untouched!"

He charged toward the duo, his movements a blur. Yaxoc and Yaxocara barely had time to react as Apeiron's attacks came at them with infinite speed.

"Damn it! He's too fast!" Yaxocara yelled.

"I can't even see him!" Yaxoc shouted back.

Apeiron appeared in front of Yaxoc, his fist inches from landing a devastating blow. But Yaxoc countered with a manji kick, stopping the demon in his tracks.

"Now's your chance!" Yaxoc yelled, turning to Yaxocara.

"Got it!" she replied. "Duality Essence: Water Flow!"

Streams of liquid energy materialized, striking Apeiron from all directions. Yaxoc followed up with a powerful punch. "Angelic Flash!"

A blinding light erupted, sending Apeiron crashing into multiple buildings. The ground shook from the impact.

But when the dust settled, Apeiron stood unharmed, his cocky smirk still in place. "Is that all you've got?"

Yaxoc cursed under his breath. "Even after all that, he's completely fine. There has to be a weakness."

"There is," Yaxocara said, her voice steady. "We need to turn his infinite stats negative."

Yaxoc blinked. "How does that even work?"

"You idiot," Yaxocara snapped. "When infinite becomes negative, it makes the user extremely weak. It's like flipping a switch."

"Alright, but how do we pull that off?" Yaxoc asked.

"Leave that to me," Yaxocara said. "I'll use a Yin-Yang technique to invert his stats. You just need to keep him distracted."

"Got it," Yaxoc said. "Let's do this."

The two split up, moving in different directions to confuse Apeiron. The demon chuckled, clearly amused.

"What's this? Running away already?"

He followed Yaxoc first, appearing in front of him in an instant. But Yaxoc was ready. He dodged the attack and countered with a punch, sending Apeiron stumbling. Yaxocara seized the opportunity, teleporting behind the demon and landing a powerful kick to his gut.

"Enough games!" Apeiron roared, unleashing a barrage of blasts at infinite speed. Yaxoc and Yaxocara dodged with precision, their movements perfectly synchronized.

"Now!" Yaxocara yelled. "Duality Essence: Yin and Yang!"

A monochromatic blast shot from her hands, striking Apeiron square in the chest. The demon froze, his expression shifting from confidence to panic.

"What... What is this?" he stammered, his body trembling.

"Not so positive now, are you?" Yaxoc said, smirking. "Strategy beats raw power every time."

Apeiron's form began to disintegrate, the infinite power he once wielded collapsing in on itself. With one final scream, he was erased completely.

Meanwhile, Xavy wandered through the desolate remains of the shattered realms, gazing at the fractured universes floating in the void.

"Great," he muttered, his voice heavy with sarcasm. "Some demon with infinite power decided to play god and wreck half the multiverse. Typical." He kicked a stray piece of debris—a broken fragment of what might have been a planet—sending it spiraling into the abyss. "I should've stopped him earlier, but hey, he's already cooked. Nothing I can do about it now."

Xavy's eyes drifted to a glowing chest nestled amidst the chaos, untouched by the destruction. Intrigued, he approached, brushing off the faint traces of cosmic dust that covered it. With a smirk, he unlatched the chest.

Inside was a radiant, transparent gem, pulsating faintly as though it held a heartbeat of its own. Xavy picked it up, examining its flawless surface and the swirling energy within.

"Hm, I've got an idea," he mused, his tone sly. Without hesitation, he hurled the gem to the ground with immense force. The gem shattered into seven shimmering fragments, each piece radiating a unique glow, illuminating the void in hues of red, blue, green, yellow, violet, cyan, orange.

"Seven pieces," Xavy murmured, crouching to examine them closely. "And each one represents something... significant." His fingers traced over the glowing shards, a sense of purpose gleaming in his eyes.

He stood up, gathering the fragments into his palm, their energies pulsating rhythmically.

"These can't stay here," Xavy decided. "They belong somewhere meaningful." He waved his free hand, conjuring a wormhole swirling with vibrant colors. As the portal stabilized, he tossed the shards into it, watching them scatter into separate paths.

"Each piece will find its way to Earth," he said, his voice echoing with confidence. "One for each continent. Masoquest, Urchie, and United Chronic—those continents can handle this." He smirked. "Or at least, they'll have to."

Pausing, he pulled another gem from his pocket, this one a deep crimson ruby that glowed with an intensity far greater than the others.

"Ah, almost forgot about you," Xavy said, turning the ruby in his hands. "I've created a new character using this gem... someone entirely unique. This one's not going to Earth—it's heading to his universe."

With a flick of his wrist, Xavy tossed the ruby into another portal, its swirling vortex shimmering with an ominous red hue before snapping shut.

"If I'm right," he muttered to himself, "the gems will arrive exactly where they're needed. And when the time comes, they'll awaken their true purpose."

Xavy's gaze shifted to the towering Books of the Universe, ancient tomes brimming with secrets of creation and destruction.

"I won't read those just yet," he said, his tone suddenly serious. "Not until I get what I need."

With that, Xavy's form shimmered, and he vanished from the realm, leaving behind the faint echo of his presence amidst the wreckage of the shattered universes.
