**Elena**
"Is this true? Is this what happened?" I shouted from the inside to my grandmother, Sorina, as I banged outside to meet her.
She was sitting on her old wooden chair with her sacred staff in her right hand. She is the seer of the village. She was looking upfront to nothing, and I came out and stood in front of her. Her facial expression sends a message that she's scared and uncertain of what to say.
"I know you heard my dreams while I was sleeping, so please tell me what I need to hear" I shouted to her again but now in anguish.
She didn't even shake or show signs of concern, but I saw the burning weariness in her; tears were about to drop down from my eyes. I didn't need her to tell me that it was true, but deep down, I could feel it. I didn't want to have a false answer, so I had to buckle up and ask her again.
Grandma, is it tr... "QUIET!!!" Sorina interrupted.
Her head slowly turned to my direction, and standing up at once, she was determined to let out what had been in her head.
She stared straight into my eyes without blinking for a second as she voiced it out.
"I told you Elena before you traveled, never to make investigations about what's happening in the village of Eldoria, but you insisted now you've seen where it has landed you" She voiced angrily.
She sharply turned her back at me, facing the quiet forest, dropped her staff, and crossed her two hands behind her back.
"I warned you, Elena, I did warn you about this" she voiced the second time, leaving me speechless.
She was making me feel more nervous than I had felt already; I could feel my legs shaking as if I was feeling cold.
**FEW HOURS AGO**
I was amidst the great men of Eldoria as they were having a meeting as they always do. It was a round table discussion. Food and wine were served on golden plates as they spoke to royalty; it was a powerful scenario.
They were Bodyguards around the pillars that surround the center of the meeting hall, all of them holding onto their shields and swords, looking so undisturbed and focused.
"I can't accept this ungodly act that has been happening in this village" Ioan voiced out as he grabbed his wine with force, sipping it aggressively, and banging the bottom of the cup on the table, the expression on his face impassive.
"Our cattle and sheep get mutilated every moon harvest, and nothing is done about it" He voiced the second time but this time in an angry and fierce voice.
Ioan is the greatest hunter in the town of Eldoria; he is highly respected because of the fierce nature of him and his followers.
"This shouldn't be what we should be discussing now; you already know that it's a tithe we pay to the moon goddess to protect us," Vlad said quietly, not to the hearing of the guards.
Vlad is the ambitious mayor of the village of Eldoria and is well-respected by everyone. He waved his hands to his guards, and they all left the room at once as the discussion was getting hot.
"In disbelief with what you said, Mayor" Ioan interrupted.
Bitterness filled his heart; he faced an angry expression as if he would explode out of his body.
"I strongly believe that this act is carried out by the werewolves we harbor in our village, the Woodlock pack " Ioan added as he sipped his wine again.
"Luca what do you have to say about this" Vlad questioned the Alpha of the Woodlock pack.
Luca is my secret lover, the only man I admire so much and makes love to always, secretly, though. I must admit, he's a very handsome man, that's one of the reasons I love him so much. I was almost losing focus looking at his sharp Gray eyes and his sharply aligned jawline.
Luca showed zero expression as he slowly drank from his cup, feeling reluctant and unperturbed by the question thrown at him. All eyes were on him as they were all waiting for the answer to come from him; the room was heating up with impatience to know the truth.
As he opened his mouth to voice out, there was a tiny sound that came out from one of the pillars; it was me hiding behind the pillar because I was not meant to be there.
"Who is there!!!" Luca, Roared with his wolf voice. And immediately, I woke up.
It was all a dream being listened to by Sorina.
**Back to Sorina**
"You must suffer the consequences of the calamity you've brought upon yourself " She threatened.
I was super afraid of what consequences she must be talking about. Would I be killed? Would I lose Sorina? Would I lose my Luca? All these questions were ranting restlessly in my brain.
I rushed to Sorina, held her hand, and pleaded with her to tell me what consequences she was talking about. She forcefully removed her hand from mine without glancing at me.
She grabbed her staff, sat down carefully, and started staring at the noiseless wood.
"You have brought pain upon yourself, yes, that werewolves indeed kill and mutilate animals every moon harvest, it's a pact between humans and werewolves that the werewolves protect the village in exchange for Sanctuary and blood tribute….this has been a ten thousand years secret not meant to be known by any human" She scolded.
I had a mixed feeling; why would she have hidden that without telling me for a while?
"I hear your thoughts, my little one, and yes, I am the sacred seer of this land, and I ought to protect the truth with my life" she interrupted my thoughts.
Damn! Why would she be interrupting my thoughts like that? I was getting disturbed.
I made a move reluctantly to head back inside.
"Also know that The alpha mustn't know about this unless he must have to break up with you at that instance," She said audibly.
Goosebumps immediately fired at me; I couldn't move my feet at that moment. Oh my God, I can't afford to lose Luca. I love him so much. What have I gotten myself into? This can't be happening now; this is a moment that I am madly in love with him and can't afford to lose him. I already made up my mind that he mustn't hear about it at all costs.
"I promise he won't hear about it" I responded. I was supposed to respond because I am the one in trouble here and am not supposed to be reminded not to tell him.
My whole face was already impatient to burst into tears until Sorina shouted.
"Who's there!!!!"
Who's where? I responded in a shaking voice.
In an instant, someone immediately ran off from the backyard of our cottage. He ran like a werewolf because he was so fast, and I could certainly tell that it was a werewolf.
My face was seized in suspension. I wanted to confirm with Sorina
Who was that grandma?
