**Vlad**
"Pour me more wine lad" I urged my squire, smiling so profusely as I looked out of the window, well decorated with a golden silk curtain, such an amazing view I always have from the topmost floor of the building, it was a golden sunset this evening.
Solemn music ringing in my ear full of sweet melody and chords. I am the mayor. Of course I have to enjoy what a mayor enjoys for being the ruler. The sound harp slowly plucked sent a slow and amusing feeling down my spine.
The gentle clashing of the cymbals on and on was a very rare feeling that made me swing my head all around as if I was drunk. I wasn't drinking an alcoholic drink anyways, everyone knows how good wine from red grapes tasted, I am so addicted to it. It tasted special.
Gentle cold breeze gushed in through the window, directly on my face, it was as if I wasn't feeling myself anymore, the so much pleasure I receive from music is so abnormal, the bows gently kissing the strings of the violins, an amazing collaboration of sweet melody vibrating out of the violin sound box.
"Sire" my squire whispered, tapping my shoulders gently, O my God! I was actually spilling the drink he poured me without even noticing it, there was no shame in that, I mean… this is my courtyard and under my court musicians, I am permitted to be carried away.
It was a cool evening I'd say, it's been long. I've felt so much relief and free. This is what I call peace of mind. I don't know where else I'd find peace if not in food, drinks and music, "This looks delicious" I said as I picked up the fine apple on the table.
"Sir" said the squire once more. I know this time around I didn't tell him to pour me another wine nor am I pouring wines on the floor. What would it be this time around, I waved at him gently to say what he needed to say without interrupting the music.
"You have a meeting with the council very soon and the hall has been made ready" he whispered. I think I am already late to the meeting, I thought. I drank the last sips of wine inside my cup, I banged the bottom of the cup on the table signaling stop to everything.
"We continue next time" I commanded everyone, there was a pin drop silence in the room, it now seems the music was a noise before now to me, how tricky the brain can be sometimes.
They all bowed in unison, waiting for my second order. "Go go go" I said swiftly, waving my hands towards the exit. They started leaving the courtyard silently, if someone was eavesdropping, they wouldn't know people were walking there. I smiled gently. "pack up all these let's head out" I commanded the squire.
The repairs were made on the walls of the buildings, it looked amazing, of course I didn't dare to touch them or admire them noticeably, a noble man like me can't do that. Truthfully I was lost in the creativity the artist must have done there, Impressive.
My squire interrupted my view as he came and stood in front of me, "What's going on" I announced, He pointed to his left. "It's the new hall sir" he pointed out. I have been going the wrong way all these while. Getting lost in the beauty of something sometimes seems as if you're drunk.
"My mayor" ioan greeted, bowing his head. He did not have my permission to raise it back up, he's a noble man not a slave or some court musicians. He dressed as a soldier anyways as he always would, he didn't look more like a hunter this time around, I'd say it's because of the meeting.
"What fine cloth you've got there" I commented, they looked new to my eyes, "yeah, they were newly made" he said. "I would like to wear something as good looking as this when I die" I joked, we chuckled together.
"you will love the new hall" he voiced out, it was newly renovated and I haven't seen what it looked like. Will it have some cool sculptures around it? Or some throne made of steel swords and heads of lions? Different imagination running in and out of my head lol.
"I visited it earlier today and I must confess, the workers did a very nice job there," Ioan said gently as if we were gossiping. "Aye" I said turning to him and looked into his eyes like I left something in it, he must be thinking of he has said something to piss me off.
"Is my throne golden? Or made with steel swords? Or heads of lion" I said while not curious of his answer, he was about to utter another word and I interrupted again. "Bronze sculptures? What does it look like?" I asked but now, curious to know what it looked like.
"We're here already," Ioan said. I didn't say a word, I was just gazing as the guards bowed while opening the doors of the new hall, what an amazing view it had, the coins paid for it wasn't in vain I'd say.
The pillars were sculptures of the past mayors of the town, not of a normal height anyways, I had to look up until my neck reached it's limit, they were made with well brushed fine bronze, I touched each one as I moved closer to the throne.
They were burning pots of incense there, sending sweet scents all over the place. I was already standing in front of the throne, what an imagination it is.
The edge of the throne was made of lion heads and the back of it was made with golden plates, so shiny when the sun hits it from the utmost window of the hall.
The council was already seated in the round table of discussion with guards guarding it in all four corners, "Sorina, Ioan and you all, welcome to this small gathering" I welcomed them. "How have things been going so far?" I added.
My squire barged in forcefully and uninvited and rushed to me. "WHAT IS IT!!!" I shouted at him, he whispered something to me and I was shocked, the council saw the shock on my face and whispered to one another wondering what it could be.
