Ignoring the war, totally not a wise move, I subtracted out the loan money and repaid the 70k loan which apparently has ballooned to 86.8k gold.
Its time like this where I feel like the system is cruel. It's only been 8 days and the interest reached near 17k gold. That's insane.
Atleast I still got 35.8k gold to spare after the loan is repaid.
I turned my head back to the magic cores, the thing I learn is that, this stuff is easy to sell but hard to buy.
Especially if it's in bulk orders.
With a new loan of 220k gold at 12% interest a day, I decided to bulk buy every magic cores I could find on the market.
Bargaining here and there, I finished spending 255k gold and got 24k magic cores , leaving out 800 gold for emergency (troop maintenance as well.)
Changing talent target to the magic cores , I returned my focus back on the battle at hand.
Troop count: 3,000
Human: 1,965
Elf: 1045
Hmm seems I've got more 3 🌟 in my army as well.
There was an addition of 3 more high elfs from the mix. Which is a totally welcoming good news for me and the army.
Looking at the battlefield reminds me of a certain game where the walls literally got to have to be destroyed to cross through unless you could jump over... Either riding a hog or a spell that let's go jump.
Ofcourse, anything that flies, walls can't stop them. That's obvious, but atleast the invaders are all land type troops.
My elven army, bombarding spells from the top of the walls continuously kept on reducing the number of the invaders.
I wanted to brag but my level 7 wall, finally showed cracks, it seems the opponent is really hell-bent on cracking down with sheer strengths.
All muscle and no brain, at least that's my evaluation of my current opponent.
Just from today's battle, we reduced his 70k to barely 40k yet they showed no sign of retreating.
The night passes and I woke up to a new day filled with debts.
My 800 gold emergency funds went dry just from yesterday and is at (-442 gold) just from maintenance cost alone.
And to make matter worse, my recent loan takes 26.4k gold a day as interest.
The only good news is that, now I'm the proud owner of 28.8k magic cores. Won't be long until I'm rich with magic cores and can pay back all my debts.
Situation propelled and I sold 300 magic cores at 3k gold to pay back the maintenance cost and have them battle ready again.
I visited the walls again today and like yesterday, this bunch of fools with dung for brains are hitting the walls with their swords today again.
I ordered for another onslaught on these fools for choosing such pitiful commander and went back to my very own house.
I wonder why I don't feel anything even when the people being killed on the walls were humans.
Is it that I still perceive this world as a game?
I sat alone, trying to be philosophical myself when I'm abruptly interrupted by a panting voice from one of my soldier.
"Your highness, urgent report."
Sitting straight, I beckon for the soldier to come in.
Coming straight in, the soldier kneeled and said. "We've detected ladders being brought over from a distance. It's estimated that it'll reach the walls in a day."
"Ladders?"
I stood up and stared at my soldier, this ain't no good news after all.
"The commanders are asking permission to unleash their full might on the battle. They're requesting to get down the walls and engage in a battle."
"Commanders?"
"The high Elfs, your majesty."
"Eh, what are we waiting for, go on. Let them let lose , that's an order."
