Two days passed, I still couldn't find any alternative for magic cores. My gold reserve went down from 27k to 4.5k.
20k went to making the outer walls level 3 while the extra was obviously troop maintenance again.
Well, my magic cores already at 140k count, and that's considering I've no debts.
I'm filthy rich now, but I have no use for the wealth either.
As I was lost in thought browsing the official forum , a knock came from the door and before I could answer, Barn rushed in.
"Your highness! We've made progress, but along the process, we have also discovered a substance that can strengthen the walls-"
"Agreed! Upgrade the walls!"
I shouted on impulse before he could finish. The walls are the most important thing after all...
Barn Jones looked at me in silence and then he says in a low tone, "We would like to have additional funding to study the elements before we upgrade the walls, your highness."
"Sure, sure, but don't neglect the other research as well... It might not be much but I did invest 50k to it as well."
"Yes , your highness."
Barn bowed and walked out the door.
I called for Benny and the old man walked into the house.
He looked more healthy and bright, now that I think about it.
He first knelt down to the floor and says "Long live, your majesty."
I was stunned for a while, 1. I don't recall anyone addressing me as majesty and 2. This grown ass man kneeling to a young adult, the fact that he's even passionate about it is worrying.
By order, Benny stood up and met my eyes with a smile.
"How's the response?" I don't know what I'm asking but I decided I won't ask him about how the golds were being spend.
"Your majesty, the people have been very happy. With proper planning and funding, the peasants have taken to the fields. There has been no complains so far."
"Good, keep it up." I see, so he really started farming to sustain the food... 'Sou Ka'
Not knowing what to say, I tried to be vague as I can, "Spend the golds I transferred over to you wisely. Don't make me regret my decision."
Sending him off, I opened the shops when suddenly, an item caught my eye.
Talent Fragment
Price: 25,000 magic cores
Description: A fragment of a Demigod! Rumors to wield power, strong enough to bring a mortal onto the path of immortality.
Special Effect: 30% chance of upgrading your current talent to the next level. (!note: you can only see the '%' of your grade. To change, when your talent grade changes.)
Instantly purchased as soon as my eyes met the item, I'm not letting it benefit anyone else but me!
"Upgrade Failure."
Slamming my legs on the table in front I winced at the 25k magic cores wasted.
I'm glad, no-one saw me. I calmed myself down and browsed the store again. I saw another one being sold and instantly purchased it again.
"Upgrade Failure."
"Fu-!" Holding back anger, I calmed down again.
50k magic cores!
That's 500k gold! I may not have any idea but, those are real money! And I wasted them!
And then bam! I bought another one and this one seemed kinda different.
