Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Long way from Kansas

Kain stumbles along, taking in all the sights. The same grim scene repeats itself: houses packed so tight they nearly touch, and people sleeping or dead on the streets. The only thing that comes close to describing this places smell is a landfill. As he walked at a leisurely pace, he observed that the surroundings were unremarkable, devoid of anything that could be considered either magical or modern. In fact, the area looked quite similar to what one might imagine the primitive age to have been like. There was a distinct absence of any indication of hygiene or cleanliness.

As Kain continued his journey, he soon came across an impressive building that stood out from the rest. It resembled a grand medieval cathedral and seemed to be the destination he had been seeking. Kain had been walking for over an hour to reach this church, which was approximately 500 yards away, and he was completely exhausted. After walking 800 feet from his starting point, he realized that this was all he could manage and that he would collapse if he attempted anything more.

Kain reaches the base of the church and surveys the area through the imposing double doors. He observes several pillars crafted from a rock he has never seen before. The pillars exhibit an intriguing blend of white and gray in an almost checkered formation, evoking a sense of natural harmony. He observed about 12 rows of benches that appeared to have been repaired multiple times. The wood appeared to be dark in color, though not exceptionally distinctive in that regard. He then saw a statue of an old man that was expertly carved and free of any dust, marking it as the only noteworthy item in the vicinity. He then noticed the people there were a total of five. One was a male in a robe of white and blue. Kain looked at the other four, who seemed to be praying with the same clothes as himself, and didn't even take a second glance at them.

This priest here looks like a perfect person to ask for information or maybe even something to eat.

Kain strides up to the priest and demands, "Hey, Sir! I need food. Can you spare some?"

At this point, a priest with a disgruntled look walks right into Kain's face. Kain smells the booze on his breath. Look, I'm not giving my food away to a slum rat. Either pray or get out..

Kain Goes through many emotions from confusion to anger to embarrassment and back to anger.

Kain looks at him and says, "Eat shit and die." He proceeds to storm out of the church, falling face-first into the ground as he exits. Kain, embarrassed, attempted to stand but was unable to maintain his footing. He slowly made his way outside and collapsed just outside the church. Exhausted, he could move no further. Kain fell asleep, his journey ending around 5 pm. He slept until 7 am the next day,

New Daily mission

Right, the daily mission is very convenient and seems pretty easy too. But I want to know what I can do with the skill points.

Skill points are used to upgrade skills. One point is required to upgrade each skill level, increasing each level by one, so level 1 to level 2 requires two points and level 2 to level 3 requires three points.

I appreciate the offer, but I need food now. Is there any way you can help me out with that?

Host need to solve this problem himself

Tsk..

Kain then realizes it's strange that no one is questioning the fact that he was just sleeping out here. He looks around and sees he isn't the only one. Kain puts it out of his mind and thinks about how he's going to get some food. In his past life, Kain wasn't very social, so this was going to be a big challenge for him. He swallows his reservations and goes around asking for food and water. No one has any, and a couple even get angry and shove Kain on the ground.

Kain kept going until he found what appeared to be a blacksmith's workshop. He didn't expect much, but the place was better than most in the area. He strode in and told the man, covered in soot from head to toe, that he needed food and water. The man, who stood at 5ft 3 with an unexpectedly deep voice, spoke in a gruff tone. "Listen up. I can give you food and drink, but there's a price to pay." Kain: "What do you want me to do?" The soot-covered man just looks him up and down. Kain says, "Whoa, whoa," but the man cuts him off. "Shut up," the man says. "It's not like that. I'm just seeing if you could even handle it."

Kain says, "I'll do anything. Just not sexual." The soot-covered man just looks at Kain and says, "I need someone to run errands for me, but since I can't trust you, we will start with simpler tasks. You need to build some muscle. I will start by introducing myself. My name is Vulcan, and you are". "Kain."

Vulcan: "Nice to meet you Kain. Now I need you to clean up the shop. Everything you need is in that small room."
