Everyone soon assembled in front of a carraige. The servants were also dusting themselves, trying to look as decent and neat as possible. Diego was at the forefront, while Diane was standing next to Natasha, who wasn't too far from him. "Hey. Why are you standing next to me? Go stand next to your husband, go." She said, as she nudged Diane. Diane, who could not resist her shove, ended up standing next to Diego, feeling slightly awkward and out of place. Soon, the door of the carraige opened, and a peerless beauty stepped out. Almond shaped eyes, skin as white as porcelain, fiery red hair tied up in a ponytail, eyes a brilliant color of jade, and an indomitable aura that made everyone feel subservient towards her, willing to be at her beck and call and obeying her every order. Her beauty was unparalleled, second to none. Even Diane felt slightly inferior to her. Lucille's eyes locked onto Diego, first, before lighting up, making her look even more attractive. The next thing she did was out of everyone's expectations, she ignored her coachman, who was holding out his hand, and jumped at Diego why exclaiming: "Deggie, I missed you so much!" She said, as she embraced him. Diane was flabbergasted. Diego just had his hands limp at the sides, feeling awkward right now. "Lucille, we aren't kids anymore." He said, getting tired of that embarrassing nickname. "Hmph, you are no fun." She said, as she withdrew from him. "Oh my! Is this Leonia?! She has grown so much, I haven't seen her since she was three!" Lucille said, failing to notice Diane's presence and pinching Leonia on the cheek instead. "Do you still remember me?" She asked. "Of course, you gave me a doll on my third birthday." Leonia said, struggling to get out of Lucille's embrace. "Why won't she grow? She won't stay stunted, will she?" Diego asked. "You, I will deal with you later. Lucille said, ignoring him. "Oh, Uncle, aunt you came out too! She said, running towards them, immediately falling into Aunt Maria's embrace. "Silly child, How have you been?" Maria said, as she patted her head. "Great! I hope uncle and aunt have been taking care of themselves?" She asked, her jade colored eyes shimmering. "Well, we do our best." Regis replied with a smile. While Lucille was exchanging pleasantries with Natasha and Theodore, Diane felt slightly ostracized. Did she not notice her presence? She wondered. A warm hand snapped her out of her thoughts. She looked up, only to see Diego looking at her with an understanding gaze. "Ahem. Lucille." Diego began by clearing his throat, trying to get the attention of this Phoenix, who was busy tugging Theodore by his ear lobes. "Hmm? What is it?" She asked, her grip on Theodore loosening. "I will like to introduce you to someone. Meet Diane, first and only daughter of the household of Lewis. And... my wife." Diego pulled her closer, as he made that last statement. For a split moment, Diane's heart seemed to be covered in warmth. Lucille blinked. "Huh? You have a wife?" She asked, looking from Diane to Diego, and back again. Everyone immediately felt awkward. "Got ya!" Lucille said, bursting into giggles. "This girl, she will be the end of me." Maria muttered to her husband. Theodore wiped and invisible drop of sweat of his forehead. "So you are Diego's wife." She said, as she walked up to them, grasping Diane's hands in hers. "You are so pretty! Deggie, why didn't you describe how beautiful she was in your letter?" She asked, looking at Diego with puppy dog eyes. However, Diego frowned and said. "Stop calling me that." "Tsk, you are no fun." Lucille said, as she clicked her tongue. "Sorry, I failed to notice your presence earlier. I can be so absent minded." Lucille said, as she winked at Diane. "That's oka-" "Come on, let's chat some more inside!" Lucille hurriedly interrupted, not even giving Diane a chance to reply.
At the dining table, Lucille continued to jabber non-stop, while asking about Diane's childhood from time to time. Leonia was willingly( forcefully) sitting at her left, while Morris was sitting next to Leonia. Lucille also made sure to give some attention to this 'Cute baby brother' of Diane's. Diane however, was starting to warm up to Lucille. She has this warm and bubbly aura around her that made people get naturally attracted to her. "It looks a little like this." Lucille said, spreading her right palm open. In the middle, was this flickering red orb of fire, though it was not particularly huge. "Lucille, we are at the dining, not the battlefield." Diego said from the head of the table. "Deggie, you haven't changed at all." Lucille said, while pouting her lips. She then whispered to Diane. "It must be hard on you, right? Afterall, you have to put up with him." "It has been war, of course." Diane replied, and the both of them chuckled. Seeing this harmonic scene, one would be misled to think that Lucille and Diane were long lost sisters. "Ahem. Are you not going to congratulate Me on my victory?" She asked Diego, with a sharp glare. "Of course, congratulations on leading Agerintia to victory." Diego said, while fiddling with his fork and plate, not even looking up. "You sarcastic Bastard!" Lucille yelled, throwing her spoon at him. The spoon which seemed to have been perfectly aimed, smacked the fork at of his hand, which landed on the ground with a clatter. "At least thank me for managing to survive. Although it was five years, people still lost their lives, you know." She said, feeling a little down casted. "I told you not to participate in the war, didn't i?" Diego asked, his hand on his chin, as he gazed at her. "You talk like I had a choice!" Lucille half yelled. Diane has absolutely no idea what that were rambling on about. Yes, it was true that her country had been at war, but the crown had handled it so well, that even commoners weren't aware of the ongoing crisis. "Nevermind, Lucille, you know how hard headed cousin Diego can be." Theodre said, trying to make her feel better. "You are absolutely right. He has no brains when it Comes to women." He said. "Then, will you be the one teaching me how to talk to women?" Diego asked Theodore with a smile on his face. "Of course not." Theodore hurriedly replied. "Ah, just forget it." Lucille said, while fiddling with the beef she was cutting. "So Diane; how has your training been going?" Lucille asked, turning to Diane. "Ah.. that, I am still learning the basics." She said. "Has your evergio ever bothered to contact you since then?" She asked again. "Um, not really." Diane replied. "Lucky you.'' Lucille said.
After all having breakfast, Diego went back to his office- no surprise there, while the others went back to go about their own business. Lucille and Diane were sitting at the garden, watching the children play. "My goodness, they are so fond of one another, despite the disparity in age." Lucille commented. "I know right? Maybe they were acquainted with each other as well in their previous lives." Diane joked, while Lucille laughed heartily. " So, how far have you and Diego gone with it?" Lucille asked, a naughty smirk playing out on her lips. Diane blinked innocently. "With what?" She asked her face blank. "You know... the thing a man does with his wife every now and then?" Diane's face immediately turned as red as chili powder. "Wait, wait a minute, why did you suddenly get bring this up?!" Diane asked, while screaming out loud. The three children paused their play and glanced at her direction. "It's nothing, keep on playing, children." Lucille explained to them. " Don't tell me.. are you guys not considering having kids? I thought Diego liked children." Lucille asked with a pondering look. "It's not that." Diane replied, her face still a beet red. "It's just that, it's too early. We have only been married for three months." She said as she recoiled into a corner. "Oh, is that so?" Lucille asked, drawing herself closer to Diane. "I know Diego likes work but look at you. You are so pretty, that blonde hair that ends up at wavy curls, those vibrantly blue eyes, those overly flushed cheeks right now. If I were a man, I would be swooning at the sight of you right now..." Lucille said, as she hugged Diane from behind, while whispering coquettishly into her ears, making The tip of Diane's ears turn three shades redder. "Stop teasing me!" Diane exclaimed impulsively, while a shadow blocked her vision. While wondering who it could be; she heard Lucille's gasp and a male voice said. "Lucille... what are you... doing with my wife?"
