Chapter 13 - Condemn

In the office of the Vice President of the Headquarter of the Cacia Group, there was a small crowd of people in the middle of the night. And half of the people had not yet gotten their proper requirement of rest for the day. Or few days.

"Vice President, if we were to release this, would it not affect the connection with the Clangtons."

Assistant Lou was in a dilemma. He wanted to help the young miss in clearing her name. But he could not shake off the worry of retaliation from the Clangton Family.

Agent Wander remained silent. The company was under the Cacia Group after all. Even if he wanted to send out the footage he had seen just now, he could not do that if would obstruct the path of the big group.

And with how the Cacia family handle Maevie's case, he did not have positive feeling about it. After all, they had let many rumors regarding the young woman fly around without much care.

But to his surprise, the eldest young master had different opinion. Tyler looked at Wander and ordered.

"Release the footage though your personal account. Make sure to admit that Maevie reached out for a temporary driver."

"…"

The dumbstruck face Wander made only earned him a frown from the VP. After snapping himself out of his trance, he nodded to the order.

"Yes Sir."

"Next time something regarding Maevie come's up, inform me at the very first."

"Yes Sir." Wander nodded.

"By first, I mean first. Even before Llyod."

"…"

Llyod James Cacia was the President of the Sirius Entertainment. The company both Maevie and Wander was under, making Llyod the direct boss of the agent. To inform Tyler before Llyod means to give more importance to Tyler than his direct boss, which was odd in the hierarchy of a corporation.

"Okay"

But Wander knew that this would be a better choice for Maevie. As he knew, the relation between the second young master and his artist was anything but positive. And it was worst with the third young master.

"Would this be okay?" Assistant Lou asked after the agent had left the office to complete his task.

"Let's clarify the problem first." Tyler gave a short reply.

But the respond could not dismiss the worry of the assistant.

"If the Clangton was to oppose them, the future development of the Cacia Group would not be smooth."

"As you said." Came the cold voice of the boss. "It would not be smooth. Not impossible."

"…"

Tyler gave his trusted assistant a look of disapproval.

"It was them who had a mistake first. Why should we be the one to step back when we have solid evidence?"

"That's true."

"If anything, they should be the one to fear… This is a chance for us to get a higher stance than them."

Tyler turned his chair, facing he glass wall of the office. The busy night light of the city was reflected on the tall wall. And his dark eyes, adding a bit of manic to his coldness.

"Playing such dirty game with us."

Tyler remembered the words his assistant shared on their way to the office from the hospital.

"Miss Oz was drunk when she called you last night. She said she was lonely and asked of a few minutes to talk with her…"

He remembered the little smile she gave him as he couldn't resist the temptation of rubbing her head.

"Yes… Our Cacia family may appear to not care for her. But that does not give any person the authority to bully her."

It was not often that the usually calm and collected young master get agitated like this. Assistant Lou had seen his fair share of what agitation would lead too. And it was not something he hope to see every day…

.

.

.

Agent Wander was fast with his hands. As soon as he got in contact with the public relation of the company, he released the footage of the car accident. He chose to release it at mid night. When the enemies guard was at the lowest and there was little but sure audience to witness the truth.

Indeed, the world had two side, the one who work at daylight and those who are active at night. The traffic at the post was very steady, spreading as the time passes.

By morning of the next day, it had been well spread and the Clangtons side could not control the public opinion. Not when evidence was there in color.

[It turns out Maevie was not one causing the accident. But some other second-generation rich dude.]

[I wonder how Maevie's hater feel about her being he victim this time.]

[It's a miracle that this young woman escaped such a disaster.]

-[Indeed. Imagine she had not gotten out of the car.]

[Whether she was the one hitting or the other guy who was hitting, both are people of no principle. One was drunk driving while the other was speeding. Condemn both.]

[Condemn]

[Why wasn't the police the one to clarify the news? Something seems so fishy.]

-[Brother or sister up there. Say less. Or you'll be visiting your ancestor sooner than a you wanted.]

[I fell pity for Maevie. Although she is not one of the most kind people, to be subject to such accusations back to back, if she was someone with weak mind, I'm afraid she'd give up.]

[True. We have seen and heard of many celebrities who had ended their life because of cyber bullying. Netizens should think before jumping into conclusions and be led by someone to harm others.]

[I've seen many people call out for justice yesterday. Why is there no one calling out to punish the offender this time? Is this a gender discrimination?]

[I hope the authorities would do their duties rightfully without any underhand exchange.]

BANG!!!!

Mr. Clangton listened to the report from his assistant and could help banging his fist on the desk.

"How the hell dd they get this footage? Did I not order to get delete all the videos!!!"

"Sir… We did get all the video of the CCTVs."

"Then what the fuck is this video? Where did this come from? Did God drop it on their mail box?"

"That_" Before the assistant could reply, a phone call interrupted him.

"This is his assistant…"

"…"

"Yes… Please wait for a moment."

The assistant put the call on mute before addressing to his boss.

"Sir. This is a call from the Cacia Group."
