Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

It was another one of those wonderful days that the girls spent on a sandy beach in Thailand, enjoying the beautiful weather and delicious drinks. Lying under an umbrella and sipping the blue beverage through a straw, they watched the foreign hotties, drooling at the sight of their muscular bodies.

Ara wriggled in her recliner, from under her glasses watching the well-built blond man, whose water drops were running down his trim belly. This sight inflamed all her senses to the core. She wanted to taste it on the spot, but lacked the courage for the sake of the language barrier.

In English, she could only say "good morning," "excuse me" and "goodbye."

- Solbin, I found an idea on how to pick up a European handsome guy! - The blonde preferred not to know what stupid idea her crazy friend had come up with. - Screw the fact that I don't speak fluent English. Three magic words are enough for me. I'll say hello to him, pretend I tripped on the sand, bump into him, accidentally pull down his swim trunks, apologize and say goodbye.

- What does this have to do with a hookup? The man is unlikely to want to know your name after this incident. - Solbin snorted under her breath, pretending to be experienced in relationships with men, when in fact she hasn't had the opportunity to be on a date yet.

- At least I'll see if Europeans keep pythons in their pants.

Solbin would have been happy to confess to her friend that she was as dumb as a shoe, but she would rather not put up with her faux-boyfriend for the rest of the vacation. They had been inseparable for more than four years, ever since they met in college. Each year their bond grew stronger and stronger, and their ideas crossed the scale of normalcy.

- In that case, I wish you good luck. - With a movement of his head, he urged her to get up from her recliner and approach the muscular blonde. - Now you lack courage?

- Don't make excuses. You're still a virgin, so you don't even know what male organs look like.

The blonde choked on her drink, but that didn't stop her from measuring her friend with a cool gaze.

- You keep telling me that, you whine. Do you want some stranger's penis to land in my vagina? That's terrible! - The girl shook her head at the thought of her friend having it out with her ex-boyfriend, who cheated on her with a random girl at a party anyway. - How do you know if Wonbin didn't have the bird in another one before he came to you? Gross.

- I think you have a phobia related to penises. - The redhead bit her lip, unable to take her eyes off the European. - Do you think I can communicate with him through body language?

This was no longer bearable, so Solbin decided to help her friend, who had a problem with English.

She got up from her recliner and, as befits a good buddy, boldly approached the blond man, having no issue pronouncing a few sentences.

- I'll just ask you one question, okay? - The surprised man nodded. - Do you like desperate chicks?

His facial expression made it clear to her what answer he would give.

- I like Asian women, even desperate ones.

- You don't know how to flirt, you're out. - Solbin patted him on the shoulder and returned to her friend, who almost fell off her recliner from the sensation. - I wanted to flirt with you, but he stated that he likes big asses, not small ones. Sorry. - She innocently shrugged her shoulders.

Ara looked as if she had swallowed a fly.

- What?

- Just get over it. The man sucks. He doesn't know how to flirt, so he won't get along with you using his body.

The redhead turned dark.

- Did you take revenge for calling you a virgin?

- I'm a virgin, and I'm not ashamed of it, okay? - Solbin shouted it too loudly as she drew the attention of half the people on the beach. - I hope there are no Koreans around," she added more quietly.

- You're nuts, that's why we make a tight duo.

The girls clinked their drink bottles, breaking into laughter.

*

In the evenings she loved to sit on the windowsill, watching the ocean through the window, the sound of which sounded melodious in her ears. Somewhere in the distance, another party was being organized, where people intended to party until dawn.

She and Ara had only attended the party once, on the same day they flew to Thailand on Sunday. It was the first time they had celebrated graduation.

It was only here that Solbin was able to feel happy, to breathe after the long-standing stress of passing each semester. She had officially finished her studies and could focus on her job search once she returned from vacation.

The girl hoped that fate would smile on her once again, and she would be able to find something good fairly quickly. She could no longer sit under her parents' wings.

If it weren't for the part-time job she had taken a few months earlier, she wouldn't have been able to afford to spend her vacation in Thailand. She didn't have rich parents, her family lived from month to month, quite average.

If only she had managed to get a secretarial position in some good company, she would have helped her parents in the first place.

Unfortunately, she didn't have it as easy as Ara, whom her family could spoil a bit more.

- Just don't tell me you're going to sit on the windowsill all night when there's a good party going on not far from us! - The redhead ran out of the bathroom, resplendent in her best clothes.

Solbin smiled at the sight of her.

- For a moment, I caught a pit. Somehow I don't feel like partying. We'll go tomorrow, spend the whole night there before going home.

- Are you going to waste the night? We're going home on Sunday. Come on. Let's have fun tonight and tomorrow. Such an opportunity may not happen again.

Seeing her merciful gaze, the blonde yielded.

- All right, be it for you, but I won't tune in. I don't want to. I'm going in the T-shirt and shorts I'm wearing.

- You won't let anyone fuck you anyway, so you can go, even in nun's robes.

- More respect, wicked girl.

Ara grabbed her friend's hand so as not to lose her on the way. Walking down the hotel corridor, they passed the lovers, who, giggling under their breath, even rushed into the rented room. Solbin immediately thought about the fact that in the future, when she falls in love with the right guy, perhaps she too will spend the night in a place like this.

Solbin was twenty-two years old, and until now, she had never met anyone who would speed up the beating of her cold heart. She never regretted the fact that she had been lonely so far, while all her friends were dating and going out.

Why take someone by force? She didn't feel that way. She didn't want someone, just because her female peers thought they were better.

Well... she was too demanding and no one met her expectations.

The redhead's eyes lit up with happiness when she saw guys dancing to Latin rhythms. They had floral skirts tied around their waists.

The beach party was already in full swing, so Ara immediately acclimated. She grabbed coconut drinks from the waiter and handed one to her best friend.

- To the bottom!

- Sooner you roll me to the bottom.

- Tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll roll you to the bottom before we say goodbye to this place. Today we will play a little more politely.

Solbin rolled her eyes.

- Fine with you. Today you took me out by force anyway.

She sat down on the sand and watched Ara, who joined the half-naked men. Her movements were definitely bolder in the dance, but no one seemed to mind. Rather, she gained recognition rather quickly among the partygoers, especially the male sex.

The blonde decided to walk along the shore, since her friend was having a good time in the company of the dancers.

The water muscled her feet, cooling her down on this hot evening. Sipping her drink through a pink straw, she didn't look ahead, but watched the approaching waves.

She wished that when she returned to Korea, she would make a life for herself. These days, it is difficult to find a good job with high wages, especially since employers have high expectations. They looked at experience, skills, and the more spread out the resume, the better the chances were.

Solbin graduated with a good degree, spoke English quite well, but it seemed to her that it still wasn't enough.

Maybe if she got an internship first, it would be easier for her?

She lifted her face and at the last moment spotted a young man in front of her. Gazing at his cell phone, he didn't see her either, so they collided with each other, causing her to fall into the water. Her scream echoed down the beach.

- Are you okay? - He asked, watching as she, drenched to the bone, sat down next to him.

He was Korean.

- You almost killed me, and you're asking if I'm okay! - She raised her voice, embarrassed by how she looked. - I'm anemic, all it takes is a slight push and I fall. It's not your fault. Forgive me," she added more gently.

His smile was so nice and sympathetic that she could not be angry with him.

- It is fortunate that we are on the shore of the ocean.

This time it was she who raised the corners of her mouth upward.

- I look like a soggy hen, but the main thing is that I didn't drown. I have my whole life ahead of me.

Solbin rose from the sand and squeezed the water out of her yellow shirt, rolling it up at waist level. She had completely forgotten that her bra was black, and at that moment it was most conspicuous.

- I should go back to the hotel to change.

- Don't worry about it. It's so hot that you'll be dry in a while.

- Maybe you are right. At least I will be cooler.

He was so nice that she would have loved to sit next to him again and talk, but she had to get back to Ara, whom she had left behind at the party.

- My friend is definitely looking for me. I have to go back," she announced, slowly retreating backwards.

Somehow she felt strangely as if intimidated? Or was she afraid that this was the first guy who interested her?

I think she panicked, which is why she ran away.

She had dealt with many good-looking guys, so what did he have in him that charmed her the first time she met him? Was it the affable smile?

She certainly liked guys with pleasant teeth.

- Were you crazy without me! Why are you so wet and sexy? - Ara jumped up to her friend and reviewed her carefully. - Where have you been? What were you doing?

- I collided with a Korean man and landed in the water. That's the whole story.

- With a Korean?

The gleam in the redhead's eyes unequivocally let her know that she wanted to know all about it.

- Well, yes, with a Korean.

- I?

- Nothing. I apologized to him, he smiled and I left.

Ara looked disappointed.

- Are you sure you're straight?

- What do you mean again?

- Perhaps it was a clash of destinies, and you just left the man and walked away? Was he handsome?

- He was. He had a wonderful smile.

Solbin was brave, but it seemed to her that at that moment, she blushed. Even her friend noticed it.

- Just don't tell me that he caught your eye, and you panicked and ran away?

Who was supposed to know her better than Ara?

- Oh, give me a break! At most, I'll die a lonely virgin. Get lost! - she shouted as the redhead laughed loudly and put her hand on her shoulder. - I'm not ready for relationships. I'm self-sufficient.

- Don't get upset. And the time will come for you eventually. If this was the beginning of your destiny, you will bump into each other again before you leave.

- Cut the crap about this destiny.

Ara hung around her neck, specifically teasing her. She adored her friend and couldn't imagine missing her in the future. She was as close to her as a sister.

They had no secrets from each other.
