Chereads / Summer nightmare / Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Ara grew up in luxury, all her life she had everything she wanted and was served, so Seokjin's apartment did not impress her.

She stretched out on the black couch in the living room and sighed loudly.

- It's nice here.

A mocking smile appeared on Seokjin's face. He folded his arms over his chest and looked at her with disdain.

- Get off this couch, or you'll leave your red shags behind again. You molt worse than my buddy's dog. You soiled the seat in my car.

The girl tilted her head back to look at him.

- Count your words. Your shags are in your pants.

The young man grabbed the pillow lying on the seat, having a giant desire to throw it at the girl, but at the last moment he restrained himself.

- Get down! - he yelled, with which he finally got her on her feet. Ara got off the couch and furrowed her eyebrows. - I'll let you stay here so that you never again put on a show like you did today at the police station, but.... - He raised his finger, clearly threatening her. - You only have access to the room I assign you and possibly the bathroom.

The redhead snorted under her breath.

- Are you kidding me? What about the kitchen? Should I starve to death?

- That's no longer my business. You have no access to the living room, kitchen, my bedroom, and study, is that clear?

Inside, her whole body was boiling with anger, so she struggled to force a fake smile to let him know that she understood him perfectly.

- Your opinion is an order to me. I have accepted it. - She put her hand to her forehead and saluted him. - Lord... - She added.

Jin rolled his eyes and opened the door to the room, which was next to the living room, connected to the kitchenette.

- This is your nest, which you will leave very rarely so that I won't see you.

Ara walked up to it and looked inside. The interior was nice. White walls, white bed, white table, white curtains and white fluffy carpet.

- Is this a hospital room? - She asked as she lifted her face and tilted her head back to look at him.

- It seems to me that this interior most resembles a room in a psychiatric hospital, so it will be suitable for you. It is said that crazy people become calmer when they are surrounded by white.

The girl laughed, not letting on that he had once again led her unbalanced.

- It's wonderful how well you know your wife. - She entered the room, and he threw her suitcase inside, then slammed the door. - I'm not surprised she has such a room in her apartment if she's banged up.

She sat down on the bed in a Turkish position and took out her phone, intending to write her friend a long message explaining what had happened and where she was going to stay for an extended period of time.

She guessed that Solbin would ask her many questions and scold her for her stupid behavior.

The girl had no choice. She had to tell her the truth; after all, she couldn't take advantage of Solbin's parents' hospitality. It wasn't appropriate to do so, and the asshole had to take responsibility for her, if by some miracle they were legally married.

*

Her friend has always been reckless, but this time she overreacted. She barged into a stranger's apartment, making excuses that he was her husband.

So what if she didn't even know him? She only knew his name, how old he was and what he did for a living. Although... that's still a lot of information when you consider that they got married knowing only each other's names.

Solbin wrote her last night what she thought about it, and also indicated that it would be no problem for her to live with her for as long as she needed. Ara, however, was stubborn, explaining that it would be silly for her to sit on her friend's parents' heads.

She wanted to start being independent and, in the process, teach a lesson to the man who had ruined her life. Apparently, she blamed everything on him, and the truth was that they were both at fault.

Anyway... she could do what she wanted. She was an adult.

The gray-haired woman adjusted her knee-length skirt and sighed loudly as she stood in front of the company where she was to start work today. She told herself that everything was fine, and she was not stressed at all, but her body reminded her that this was not the case at all.

She took another deep breath and, forcing a slight smile, went inside. The girl kept thinking about the moron from Thailand whom she had unfortunate met in front of this company.

How dare he straight up tell her that she had gotten into bed with him herself?

She hoped that his appearance in front of the company was just a coincidence and that he didn't work here....

She would die if it turned out that she was so unlucky that the only company she heard from was this moron's workplace.

While waiting for the elevator, she looked around the company and observed for a while the people who worked here. They were all elegant and well-groomed, dressed in company clothes and looked as if they had come straight off the catwalk.

She had no doubt that the CEO hired only handsome people, and paid them well so they could afford designer clothes.

In clothes from a cheap store, she felt decidedly inferior next to them.

As the elevator doors opened, she felt the mirroring stares on her. The men who got off it measured her carefully. Their smiles were unmistakable.

She felt sick to her stomach.

She pressed the button with four and stood aside. A young woman with blond hair joined her on the second floor. Etched like a doll, dressed in Gucci clothes, she measured Solbin with disdain.

She probably felt superior because she was wearing several tens of thousands.

The two got off at the fourth floor. Solbin accosted one of the people passing by, notifying her that it was her first day on the job.

The gray-haired woman turned frighteningly pale with nerves when it turned out that she had applied to be the CEO's secretary. Until now, she was sure that her supervisor was supposed to be a director, not the highest-ranking man in the company!

Her knees buckled under her, but she took the plunge in due time.

Only this company appealed to her. She couldn't miss this opportunity. She had to give it her all, especially since the employees earned well here.

Such a chance is like winning ten million in the lottery.

Solbin went inside and carefully looked around the interior. Black combined with beige was the dominant color, the desk was right next to a giant window that overlooked all of Seoul, and the CEO sat with his back turned to her and observed the view.

- Good morning. I'm Oh Solbin and this is my first day on the job.

She rubbed her palm against her hand, waiting for the man to turn to face her. She didn't expect that a few seconds later the dream of being the CEO's secretary at the "Jeobag" company would turn out to be her worst nightmare.

Her boss was going to be the man she hated most in the world!

- Good morning, Solbin - he greeted her with a smile on his face, although his voice sounded a bit rough.

She murmured.

She stared at him with wide-open eyes, repeating in her mind that there was a curse hanging over her.

The girl couldn't get the words out.

- I see I surprised you," she said. Although I was sure you wouldn't be happy to see me after the last conversation, I thought you would take it differently. Well... I won't hide the fact that you got the job largely for the sake of acquaintances...

He got up from his chair and walked toward her.

His words made her boil with anger. What he said was rude! She got the impression that he was referring to the fact that since she had slept with him, she had a better chance because of it.

- So you didn't interview me because you knew I would give up right away?

- That's right," he replied, crossing his arms over his chest.

Solbin snorted under her breath.

So what if she could become a secretary at a powerful handbag company whose brand was lauded throughout Asia, if its CEO was going to be someone she hated? How could she see the man who stripped her of her virginity every day?

- And you think that after seeing you, I won't resign? We haven't signed the contract yet," she said firmly. Her heart ached at the thought of losing her chance for a great paycheck, but her dignity was more important.

She put her hand on the doorknob and was about to leave, but Jungkook prevented her from leaving the room, holding the door with his hand.

The girl turned to face him and raised her head, looking at him with big eyes.

- What are you doing?

- Do you think I'm going to let you leave? I will convince you to do this job," he replied, standing in front of her and holding his hand over her head.

- But I am unable to work with you. I can't imagine that.

- I want to correct the mistake I made in Thailand. Since you were unaware of what happened, and I hurt you because of it, I'm going to make it up to you, only you have to let me do it.

She looked at his serious face, with confusion in her mind.

On the one hand, she was terrified at the thought of being a subordinate of the man she had unknowingly slept with; on the other hand, she couldn't stop thinking about her parents, about how much she would be letting them down if she got the chance to start working for such a powerful company. Her résumé would already look rich at the very beginning, if it included a position as a secretary at "Jeobag", in addition to the paychecks that would relieve her parents and provide her with enough for all her expenses.

It would feel great if she told her friends where she was working....

What should she do? Should she just put her pride in her pocket? What if she agrees and makes the biggest mistake of her life?

- Maybe I should review the contract first? - She asked in a quiet voice.

- I like this answer better.

He turned his back to her, and a devilish smile appeared on his face. He walked over to the desk and grabbed the pieces of paper lying there. It was a contract prepared for her, which she only had to sign.

He handed it to the girl, then squatted on the desk with his arms crossed over his chest, his eyes following her every move.

He won't let her go, never in his life, now that he has the chance to have her by his side five times a week.

Solbin read everything carefully, and her eyes widened when she spotted the numbers that marked the monthly salary.

This was not the amount she had expected. It exceeded all her expectations!

- I'm sorry," she howled, closing her eyelids. - Then in front of the company I attacked you, saying insulting words....

- Let's forget about it," he hastily interrupted her. - You made me realize that I hurt you. You are entitled to be angry with me, that's why I want to make it up to you.

- Do you really think we will be able to work together, despite what happened between us? - A blush appeared on her cheeks, which Jungkook thought was cute.

- If you nonstop don't return to the past, I think we can succeed.

She couldn't let her parents down. She was unable to stay out of work, she was unable to let such a sum pass her by... not because of someone!

It happened, and it's done, she told herself, although she didn't think so at all.

- I need a pen...

He was sure she wouldn't escape him now. Since she didn't remember anything from that night, he would have plenty of time to remind her.

Just let her try to escape him...
