Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Jungkook glanced at Solbin with concern in his eyes as he drove the car and felt the touch of her hand on his thigh. She was bent over in her seat, smiling broadly, so he immediately realized that something strange was happening to her.

- Are you feeling well? - He asked, stopping the car at a red light. The girl put her finger to her lips, giggling under her breath. - A moment ago, you looked quite normal.

It crossed his mind that she might have had a mental illness, but he quickly put the idea out of his mind. She looked more like she was intoxicated by some means.

He raised an eyebrow when she tossed her hair and looked at him with seductive eyes, additionally biting her lower lip.

He began to worry. Not about her, but about himself.

He opened his eyes wider as she put her hands around his face, forcing him to look into her eyes.

- I want to taste you. Here and now. - she said boldly, at which a confused Jungkook turned his face toward the front window and took off with a squeal of tires as the light changed. - Don't you want to? - she continued. - On the island, you played the lover. Why don't you want one now?

- Because you are my secretary, and I am just driving. - He was confused by her behavior. - What did you eat after you left the company?

- I ate a doughnut. I got it from a very nice woman," she giggled, putting her hand to her mouth.

The young man felt like slapping his forehead with his palm. She was worse clueless than a child.

- Didn't your parents tell you not to take anything from strangers?

- Why are you changing the subject? Am I not attracted to you anymore?

- First you took advantage of me when you were drunk, now you want it too, being intoxicated by something. Am I so nasty that you can't be interested in me in a sober state?

- I am intoxicated with love for you.

He pulled over to the side of the road and looked at her carefully. The girl's glazing eyes said it all.

- Seriously... what did this woman give you that it started working so quickly? Tomorrow, you should report her to the police.

Solbin put her finger to her lips, telling him to keep quiet.

- Don't say anything else. Let's just do it in the car.

Jungkook had had enough. He rolled his eyes as she put her hand in his hair and forcibly moved his face closer to hers.

- I feel like kissing you.

- Do you realize that I am your boss? Tomorrow at work, you won't show your face to me.

The girl snorted.

- Why not? After all, we both affect each other. It's normal between a man and a woman.

He laughed as she pulled his hair again.

- Except that now you are not yourself. - His face darkened as she unbuckled her belt and jumped into his lap. - What are you doing?

She rested her hands on the chair, leaning over him.

- I need to kiss you.

The brunet watched her intently as she brought her face even closer to his. Their lips almost touched, but she unexpectedly lost consciousness. Her head fell back against his shoulder.

Jeon laughed quietly.

- She's a special girl," he whispered. - Exceptional.

He tapped the steering wheel with his fingers, humming a song under his breath. Out of the corner of his eye he glanced at the secretary, who had been asleep for two hours, not reacting to any noise. She wasn't even bothered by the radio, which was playing quite loudly in the car.

He breathed a sigh of relief when he noticed that the princess had finally begun to wake up. She stretched in her seat, then looked around her, and her gaze eventually found Jungkook's face.

She looked concerned.

- Did I fall asleep in your car?

Jeon smiled half-heartedly.

- Clearly you were tired after your first day of work, but I shouldn't be surprised. Stress does its job," he replied, not intending to share a funny story about her strange behavior.

- I feel so stupid. I'm sorry. - Her eyes opened wider as she noticed the time. - I slept for so long, and you didn't wake me up? You should have been home a long time ago. Why didn't you just throw me out of the car?

- You slept so well that I didn't have the heart to wake you up," he stated. - I'm a caring type of person, that's why.

He looked at her with amused eyes, but she paid no attention. She grabbed her purse and hurriedly intended to leave the car, but Jungkook didn't let her. He grabbed her arm, stopping her in her tracks.

She stuck her eyes wide open at him, having no idea what he intended to do.

- What's going on? - She asked in a whisper.

- About two hours ago, you jumped into my lap and wanted to kiss me. - Solbin went pale on her face. - I wonder... Do you have a split ego?

She gasped. She could not utter a word.

- What," she only choked out.

He could see how terrified her face was. He didn't want to completely freak her out, he feared it might make her quit her job.

- I'm joking. I'm just joking. My humor sucks. - He reassured her. - And you have to get used to it. - He let go of her hand, at which she smiled slightly.

- In that case... I'll go now. Thank you for the lift," she replied shyly, then opened the door.

- See you tomorrow, Solbin. Sleep well.

She nodded to him, then hurriedly walked away towards her house. She was embarrassed and beat herself up in her mind for agreeing to let him drive her home.

This was the first and last time.

Even though she was an adult, she was not at all surprised to see her parents waiting for her. They always worried about her when she returned too late. She was their child, so as long as she lived with them, they considered it their duty.

- I'm sorry I didn't let you guys know. It was my first day and there was a lot of work. In the future, I may be coming home after hours.

The woman smiled at her daughter.

- Was it hard? - She walked up to her and embraced her, squeezing her shoulder with her hand.

- It was, but I managed," she replied, reciprocating the cheerful smile.

- In that case, take a quick shower and jump into bed so you'll be rested in the morning.

She entered her room and leaned with her back against the door, letting the air out of her mouth with relief. Her first day was behind her. Tomorrow should be better.

*

First thing in the morning, Ara's laughter could be heard in the apartment, coming from behind Seokjin's bedroom door. The redhead stood over his bed, having an incredible laugh as she watched his sleeping face.

He looked funny.

Her loud behavior finally roused him. He opened his eyes and looked at the girl with sleepy eyes.

- I still have nightmares because I see the devil," he muttered, turning on his other side.

Ara snorted under her breath.

- You are right. You see the devil," she said, playing with his cell phone in her hand. - After all, I can unlock any phone.

She sat down on the edge of the bed and entered the gallery, smiling under her breath when she noticed that in each photo he posed with a different girl.

No doubt he was a playboy. He played with women.

She was surprised when Jin unexpectedly snatched the phone from her hand. He looked at her with deadly eyes, and she had to admit that with that uncombed hair he looked pretty good.

- You are indeed abnormal. What don't you understand about the sentence that says you are not allowed here? Besides... by what right do you touch my phone and look through its contents?

- I am your wife," she replied, shrugging her shoulders.

- Only on paper. To me, you are a foreign woman, so don't allow yourself too much.

- A foreign woman? - She snorted under her breath. - I wonder what all those dolts would say if they found out you were married. In general... I'm surprised that they allow themselves to be treated this way. They don't have an ounce of respect for each other.

The redhead was surprised when Seokjin unexpectedly grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her close. The girl was lying on the mattress, and he was leaning over her, with his hands preventing her from escaping.

- What are you doing? - With wide-open eyes, she watched his face, which was too close to hers.

- Since you are my wife and have the right to look into my private affairs.... - He measured her with his eyes, smiling under his breath - then I also have the right to have fun with you.

- Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind? - she yelled at him, being clearly disturbed when she noticed his gaze. - Let me go, or I'll start biting you.

Ara tried to escape him, but she was without a chance. The young man grabbed her wrists and pressed her hands against the pillow.

- You're supposedly so crazy and brave, and you're afraid to play with your husband?

The way he looked and looked at her now caused a strange feeling of excitement in her. She wrestled with the thoughts that craved his kiss.

- My infatuation with you passed after that night on the beach.

- Really? Your sparkling eyes say something different. Each looks at me in the same way. You are no different from them, although you try to be original. - She felt like killing him for those words. How could he compare her to other girls? And still to those tawny ladies who flew after him like dogs. - You are all the same. You enjoy playing with guys, and then you can abandon your family when you find a better lover. - Ara furrowed his eyebrows. It sounded like he had a grudge against women. - That's why I deviate from this pattern, and it's me playing with women, then dumping them. It's a great feeling because there is no such thing as love.

- You sound like your first love completely broke your heart.

Seokjin snorted under his breath.

- First love? I have never been in love and never will be," he announced in a bitter voice. - Love is not in my life. It's a foreign word. - He let her go and got off the bed, heading for the door. Ara rose to a sitting position and looked carefully at his back.

- So it's because of your mother? Earlier, you mentioned that she abandoned you to live with a younger lover.

He turned to face her. He seemed indifferent to the words she said.

- Mother? I never had her, either.

He left, and she watched the door, behind which he disappeared for a long moment.

Even though her father had thrown Ara out of the house, she could not stop loving him. She didn't live in a wonderful family either, as it was difficult to feel love in her home, money had always ruled there; however, these were her parents and she missed them.

Jin didn't miss them. He hated his mother, so something contributed to him hurting women, thus healing the pain his mother left in his heart.

- Should I help you to stop being such a bitter asshole? - she whispered, shifting her gaze to the window.

Even then, she didn't realize that she was the cure for Seokjin's pain - the medicine the shaman woman had chosen for him.
