Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Inviting Daughter infront of Father.

Here is the edited chapter:

Kairos's expression turned melancholic as he replied to the king's question. He spoke with a distant look, "I didn't find myself worthy of her love and care at that time."

The king was amused by Kairos's response. "What about now?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

To this question, Kairos confidently smiled, "Now, if I am not worthy of something, then there is no one in the whole existence worthy of it."

King Arcadia was amused by this response, and he wanted to know where this confidence stemmed from. Both Amaya and Anya were also amused by Kairos's answer, but their mood quickly turned sour because he used it to refer to another woman.

The king shook his head and asked, "So, assume you would return there soon?"

Both Amaya and Anya's faces turned pale as they heard the king's question. They didn't want to hear the answer.

"Yes, it was the plan before," Kairos replied. "Actually, I was only here because I hadn't eaten anything for a whole month due to being stuck inside the tunnel." Kairos casually dropped another bombshell.

All three of their expressions became horrified, as the implications of Kairos's words sank in.

"Are you that scarred-faced boy who was assumed to have escaped the site location after the fall of the tunnel?" the king asked, his voice laced with a mix of shock and trepidation.

The King was horrified because if it was as Kairos said, then how did this boy even survive the fall of such a large tunnel? And even if he got lucky and somehow survived it, then the next question was how he survived without eating anything. And the last question was how he even escaped from it.

Seeing their horrified expressions, Kairos smiled inwardly. Finally, King Arcadia couldn't take it anymore and blurted out, "No, it can't be you; that person has a burn scar on his face, and you... you don't even have a blemish."

"Well, I can't say anything if you don't believe me," Kairos replied.

Hearing this, King Arcadia remembered that there was no need for Kairos to lie to him. Although the truth was harsh, he had to accept it. "Boy, you are full of wonders. So, what is your plan now?" he asked.

"The plan was to leave for Nexarion today," Kairos replied calmly. "But there is someone I met yesterday evening. I want to meet her once before leaving. So, I will go to the place where I met her yesterday. I think I will leave for Nexarion tomorrow morning, if everything goes well."

Kairos even told the father of the girl that he was going on a date with her.

The king laughed heartily. "Hahaha! Good, good! Young people should be like you. Go enjoy your date! While I will prepare a gift for you with Grand General Anya." The king didn't even knew that he had just given his permission for Kairos to go on a date with his own daughter. He would later regret his decision.

Amaya was dumbfounded, hearing the conversation between the two. She saw how stealthily Kairos had invited her on a date, while her father encouraged him. She knew how doting her father was, although he said he would allow her to choose her own partner. In truth, he never allowed her to date anyone.

Anya, who heard that Kairos would go on a date with someone else, was seething with anger. She wouldn't allow someone to take what belonged to her. Kairos had said he would go tomorrow morning, which meant she had time until then. She had to fix her mistake before morning. She had to leave a mark on his heart...
