Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Date with Amaya (Part 1)

Kairos went to the same cake shop and ordered two pastries. He waited for some time, and after 10 minutes, he finally saw the person he was looking for. Amaya, dressed in her usual outdoor hood, came towards him.

She took a pastry from him and said "Thanks" before starting to eat. Kairos also decided to eat his fill while starting the conversation.

"So, how should I address you now, Princess?" Kairos asked with a hint of amusement.

"Amaya," Amaya replied without hesitation.

"Huh?" Kairos wanted to tease her, but she casually ignored him.

"I said, you can simply call me Amaya." She said while turning towards him, her expression neutral. Kairos couldn't find the cheerful attitude she possessed yesterday. He concluded she must be angry with him.

Kairos wasn't a dumb person who couldn't see if a girl liked him or not. He even realized that the cold General Anya had some feelings towards him, which he noticed while traveling with her to the hall room. He saw how hard she was trying to talk to him. He also noticed how sad she became when he mentioned he was going to leave. But if she wanted him to accept her feelings, she would have to prove herself.

Like every male, Kairos also had his own preferences for a woman. He liked a woman who was crazily in love with him, who wouldn't betray him even if the world turned upside down.

Now, some would say it wasn't fair for Anya that she had to prove herself, while Amaya easily got acknowledged. But it was a misunderstanding; the real test for Amaya would start after Kairos left for Nexarion. She would have to break free from the hierarchy of a princess and pursue her love, for which Kairos planned today's date. He would make her realize what she wanted.

After they finished eating their pastries, Kairos urged Amaya to come with him. They passed through the city gates. Amaya couldn't understand why he brought her here; was he going to do something that couldn't be done in front of people? Her face became flushed as she imagined it. She wouldn't allow that until it was the last stage... Kairos saw her flushed face and thought she might have a cold. There was no way this cute and innocent-looking girl was thinking something perverted, right?

After coming far away from prying eyes, Kairos summoned his wings. Amaya was surprised to see his wings appear suddenly. When she was this close to him, she could see how beautiful they were. Amaya wanted to touch them when suddenly she found herself in his arms. This boy didn't even let her prepare herself. Her face was now completely red.

"Well, I want to take you somewhere," Kairos said. "This place has a little sentimental value to me." When Amaya heard this, she wanted to smack herself for her earlier imaginations. He simply wanted to take her somewhere. Kairos started his flight, and since he couldn't see Amaya's face, he didn't notice her disappointed look.

Amaya was surprised by how different and small everything looked from up high. It was one of her deepest desires to fly. She was thankful to him for this wonderful way of transportation. But when she focused on how she was being carried and how close their bodies were, she started to feel flustered. She could even hear his heartbeat from this close. She didn't know when she fell asleep. She only woke up after she heard his soothing voice, "Wake up, sleepyhead! We have reached our destination."

Amaya reluctantly got off from his arms. When she observed her surroundings, she saw they were near a river. She could even see a fallen tunnel some distance away. "Isn't this the location where you worked before?" Amaya remembered he said he was an ex-worker here.

"Yes, I worked here for almost 5 years," Kairos said while pointing towards a huge rock alongside the river. "Whenever something happened, I usually sit there to calm my mind."

"Come, let's sit there." Kairos carried her to the large rock, and they both sat at the edge, enjoying the sensation of the cold winds flowing there.
