Kairos woke up in the morning, still within the castle walls. He planned to leave for Nexarion after meeting the King. Kairos headed towards the dining hall to grab his breakfast.
While he was eating, a royal guard arrived to inform him that the king was summoning him.
After finishing his breakfast, Kairos accompanied the guard. After some time, they reached the gates of the throne room. Seeing Kairos's face, the guards at the gate hurriedly opened it. Kairos entered the throne hall, where he found the King alone.
"Good morning, Your Majesty!" Kairos greeted the king in the usual noble manner.
King Arcadia was checking on his gifts, oblivious to Kairos's arrival. "Well, you are very energetic today, young man! I was just preparing the gifts for you. I have prepared three things for you."
"The first one is the permanent VIP citizenship of the Aurora Continent. You can collect it from General Anya's cabin." King Arcadia said. Unbeknownst to Kairos, the King didn't know why, but when he asked his subordinate to prepare the citizenship for Kairos, Anya appeared and insisted on being the one to give it to him. When the King asked why she was behaving this way, she explained that as a General, she felt she should have been the one to fight the beast instead of the young man. Therefore, she wanted to thank him personally.
"The second gift is this!" The King said, pointing towards a pile of food. "This is a special food prepared by our chefs; it can be stored for a long time."
"The third gift is specially prepared by me. However, to receive it, you must prove your worth." The King said, retrieving an ancient-looking box. "Inside this box is a special sword, which one of my ancestors discovered a long time ago in a mysterious cave. This sword has unique characteristics. No one has ever been able to wield it due to these characteristics. So, I want you to try... if you can wield it, then it is yours." The King opened the box, revealing a simple-looking sword. Kairos examined the sword but couldn't see anything special about it. He was about to reject the gift when he suddenly heard...
"Huh? Why? I don't see anything special about it."
"Huh? But didn't you say before that you were his last creation?"
"So, you're saying this sword is one of those creations? But then, why can't anyone wield it? What are its conditions? Because, as far as I know, that being loves creating conditions."
When Kairos heard the condition to wield the sword, he felt frustrated. He wondered how many types of weapons existed and how he could gain affinity for all of them.
"Alright, let's do it."
"Yes"
As the skill was installed, Kairos felt his consciousness drift away. Suddenly, he found himself in the midst of a sea of blood, surrounded by countless floating weapons. Kairos ignored the weapons and walked straight until he saw a simple-looking sword. He felt an inexplicable connection to it. He tried to pick up the sword, and when he finally did, he found himself back in the throne room, holding the strange sword the King had given him. Kairos felt a deep connection to the sword, as if he had found a long-lost companion. He felt an overwhelming urge to clean the sword's blade... with his own blood.
He made a small cut and then bathed the sword in his blood. When he did this, strange runes started appearing on the sword.
The runes began at the tip, covering the entire blade, then the hilt, and finally, they spread to Kairos's hand. The runes condensed into a single tattoo of a sword on his wrist. When the tattoo was complete, the sword in his hand vanished. Kairos could feel the sword had become a part of his body, and he could summon it at will.
While all this was happening, King Arcadia's mouth was wide open in astonishment at the strange events unfolding before him. Kairos decided to thank him for the gifts and leave, avoiding any further questions.
"Thank you for your gifts, Your Majesty," Kairos said, bowing slightly. He then installed a miscellaneous skill called [Storage] from the ring to store the food. He once again realized that miscellaneous skills were incredibly useful for daily life.
