Jovana spent the night sleeping in a chair in her brother's room. As the sun came up over the horizon, the light woke her up. She stood up and stretched her whole body. It had been a rough night for her.
With silent steps, she approached the bed. Elijah still had his eyes closed. Jovana gently put a hand on his forehead. The acute attack was over. Despite the fact that he was feeling better, Jovana didn't feel like celebrating, as she thought, 'Mom was feeling better a couple of days before the end.'
Elijah opened his eyes. He blinked a few times, looking around the room. Then his eyes found Jovana. "Jovana, how long have you known?" he asked.
"I have always known, Eli."
"But how is that even possible? I did my best to hide it."
