Chapter 10 - YOU DID WELL

Anna was shocked and turned pale when she heard Robert's words. "Robert, what are you talking about?" she asked.

Sophia was also stunned. She didn't expect Robert to reveal her identity as his wife so openly. Even if he wanted to, she didn't want to be exposed. She just wanted to spend the next five years peacefully without any surprises. If their marriage was made public, it would be difficult for her to remarry after the five-year contract was up.

At that moment, David took off his suit jacket and wrapped it around Anna's exposed area. Anna looked at Sophia in shock.

Sophia had black hair tied up in a bun, and her black professional suit outlined her graceful figure and beautiful face. She was a beautiful woman, but Robert wouldn't be interested in someone like her, who was not from a prestigious family and was not a socialite in River City.

"Robert, I know you're angry with me for disturbing you at work, but I also know you don't like women like Sophia," Anna said. "You can arrange for her to be your secretary, and I have no right to interfere. But when I came to visit you, she hit me. You don't care about me, but you care more about her. What does that mean?"

Robert looked at Sophia and said, "Go check the schedule."

Sophia turned and left.

His journey was almost over, and he was doing this to get rid of her.

Sitting at her desk, she didn't look at Robert. It had nothing to do with her, and she never interfered.

At this moment, Robert's cold phoenix eyes fell on Anna, who was crying with tears and rain, and looked fragile.Anna felt as if a mountain was pressing down on her, and looked at Robert pitifully, "Brother Robert, you have to help me, wu..."

Robert took something out of the drawer and put it in the water glass in front of him.

"Drink it."

"I know Brother Robert won't harm me." Anna didn't understand, but she thought of their relationship. After drinking the water, she asked, "What is this?"

"You used it on me that night." Robert said.

Anna stared at Robert with wide eyes, "I...I...I didn't...I..."

"Anna, you are my mother's goddaughter, and only a goddaughter. Don't think about getting more." Robert's phoenix eyes were like ice, staring at Anna, his voice sinister with a warning, "Sophia is my woman. If you dare to humiliate her again, it won't be as simple as her slapping you. I will make you pay a price beyond your imagination. Do you hear me?"The coldness cut through Anna's body like a knife, making her tremble with fear.

He said Sophia was his woman?

No.

He must have found out what she had done before he used these words to anger her.

She wouldn't give up on him. Whoever tried to take Robert away from her, she would kill them.

The first one is that stinky woman Sophia! David felt that something was wrong with Anna and quickly took her away.

Sophia sneered when she saw Anna's flushed cheeks and dizzy eyes. She was right. Once she left, Robert would take care of Anna.

Men. Ha...they are all the same, but they blame her instead.

Suddenly, a chill came over her. She looked up and saw Robert standing in front of her.

"President Robert," she immediately stood up respectfully, "President Robert, your next schedule is to go home."

Robert glanced deeply at Sophia and after taking two steps, he turned around and looked at her, "What are you standing there for? Come home with me."

Sophia hurriedly followed behind Robert.

In the car, Robert was still busy with work. Sophia tried to keep her distance from him by leaning against the window.

Suddenly, her phone rang. She saw that it was her youngest brother calling and without hesitation, she hung up.

Then she saw a text message and her face turned pale.

"President Robert, I need to get off the car to deal with something."

Robert stopped typing on his keyboard and handed Sophia a marriage certificate.

When Sophia saw the marriage certificate, her heart warmed. "Thank you, President Robert," she said.

"You don't have to call me President Robert after work," Robert said, his clear and cold eyes fixed on Sophia. "Don't worry about tearing up the marriage certificate, we can replace it anytime."

Sophia felt Robert's thoughtfulness and her heart warmed even more. She thanked him with a gentle voice, "Thank you, Master Miller."

Robert frowned slightly, seemingly dissatisfied with Sophia's address, but he didn't say anything.

"Don't forget the contract you signed," Robert reminded her with a low, magnetic voice as Sophia got off the car.

"I'll definitely be back at the villa tonight," Sophia replied.

Robert glanced at Sophia and continued with his work.

After leaving Robert, Sophia went to Joseph's villa.

"Sophia, you're asking for trouble," a sharp female voice rang out in the spacious living room.

Sitting in the room was a middle-aged woman exuding a sharp aura, Mia, the real power behind the Garcia Group. Sophia's family stood beside Mia, their faces pale and trembling, while Joseph sat next to Mia.

"You dare not attend today's wedding," Mia said, her eyes fixed on Sophia with a sinister look.

Sophia remained calm. She had anticipated this day.

"Do you think that by capturing my family, I will marry your son?" she said, her eyes filled with ridicule.

"Little girl, don't talk back to Madam." Abigail hated Sophia to the bone, glaring at her with disgust. "Kneel down and apologize to Madam."

"If it weren't for my brother sending me a message, I wouldn't have cared about your lives." Sophia gave Abigail a cold glance. "If you want to kneel down and beg Mia for forgiveness, you can do it yourself. I won't kneel."

"How dare you!" Abigail gritted her teeth and rushed towards Sophia, trying to hit her.

Sophia grabbed Abigail's hand that was about to hit her face, pushed her away, and didn't hit back.

"You have no right to speak here. Shut up." Sophia's intimidating aura made Abigail unable to speak.

"You don't have to watch me argue with my parents." Sophia looked at Mia with indifference. "You wanted to see me, and I'm here. Let them leave."

Mia's eyes were cold as she stared at Sophia, raising her hand to take Abigail and the others away.

Only Mia, Joseph, and Sophia were left in the hall.

"You've made me lose face at this wedding."Mia's tone was full of hatred towards Sophia.

"It's not me who made you lose face, it's your precious son Joseph." Sophia coldly retorted Mia. "He didn't tell you about our bet and made you look bad in front of the guests."

Mia frowned and looked at Joseph, who remained silent.

"Mom, I don't know what Sophia is talking about." Joseph leaned back on the sofa, looking at Sophia with a sinister look.

Without hesitation, Sophia took out her phone and handed it to Mia. "You can see for yourself what's going on."

Mia took the phone and looked at the contents, immediately furious. "What is this?"Sophia looked at Joseph as she spoke, "You can ask Joseph."

Joseph saw Sophia's gesture and a hint of malice flashed in his eyes.

"What video are you talking about, Mia?" Joseph pretended to be clueless and asked.

Mia angrily threw Sophia's phone at Joseph, "You scoundrel, see for yourself."

There was no doubt that Joseph saw the video of himself and Sophia making a bet.

"I didn't record it," he said as he looked through Sophia's phone messages, "Sophia deliberately had someone else create these videos so she wouldn't have to attend the wedding."

Sophia was not surprised by Joseph's words.

This man was shameless.

However, Joseph's words made her think of Robert's warmth.

Because Robert gave her the marriage certificate, even if Joseph didn't admit to the bet in the video, the marriage certificate couldn't be faked.

"Sophia, you've been with the Mu family for years, and I've investigated you specifically," Joseph continued, "You have a good character, and your colleagues like you. Your family wants you to marry into the Garcia Family with all sorts of unreasonable conditions, and I agreed to them."

"But I didn't expect you to look so innocent on the surface, yet be so shameless behind my back, using a synthesized video to frame my son. You even caused me to lose face today. You're really cunning."

As she spoke, she picked up the cup in front of her and threw it at Sophia.

Sophia could dodge the cup, but Mia and Joseph couldn't. If she angered Mia even more, she wouldn't even be able to leave today.

She came to resolve the situation, not to escalate the conflict.

The teacup hit her stomach, causing a sharp pain.

"Ms. Mi, whether the video is real or fake, we can find out by having an expert examine it," she said. She saw Joseph's finger sliding on her phone and immediately took it back from him.

"Compared to you, I trust my son more," Mia said angrily, her eyes fixed on Sophia. "Sophia, kneel down for me."

Sophia stood up straight, lifted her chin slightly, and exuded an air of not giving up.

"Don't even think about it!"

Mia saw Sophia refuse and said sternly, "Someone, break Sophia's legs."

Immediately, two tall bodyguards appeared and moved to grab Sophia."Don't touch me!" Sophia immediately defended herself.

"Mom..." Joseph spoke up to stop them, but Mia interrupted him.

"Shut up!" Mia scolded Joseph harshly. "You useless thing, you can't even keep an eye on Sophia. Even if you tie her up, you should have completed the wedding with her today, instead of embarrassing me."

Joseph let Mia curse at him, but he knew Mia's methods and she really would break Sophia's legs.

He didn't care if Sophia's legs were broken.

But he did care about Robert behind Sophia.

"Get out of the way." He immediately pushed aside the bodyguard who was about to restrain Sophia, "Don't touch her!"

Sophia wouldn't appreciate Joseph's actions because she knew what he was thinking.

The next moment, she took out her marriage certificate from her bag and threw it directly in Joseph's face.

"You kneel down for me."

When Joseph saw the marriage certificate in his hand, his whole body trembled.

The bright red marriage certificate, with Sophia and Robert's photo on it, stabbed his eyes and angered his soul.

Sophia smiled brightly, while Robert was cool and noble. The two had different styles, but surprisingly matched each other.

The knuckles of the hand holding the marriage certificate turned white.

If he didn't believe yesterday that Robert would be interested in a woman like Sophia, he believed it now.

"Sophia..." He glared at Sophia with hatred, his eyes turning red with anger. "You're really despicable. What did you do to seduce Robert and get this piece of paper?"Sophia was imposing, her eyes coldly fixed on Joseph. "Joseph, if you're willing to bet, you have to be willing to lose. Kneel down!"

For the first time in his life, Joseph was dumped by a woman, and he even lost to a woman.

His handsome face twisted with bitterness and resentment.

"You can forget about it! There was never any bet between us!"

At this moment, Mia's eyes widened in shock as she quickly walked up and took the marriage certificate from Joseph's hand.

"What?" She was extremely surprised. "You actually married Robert?"

Without waiting for Sophia to speak, she angrily said, "Impossible! President Robert would never be interested in a useless woman like you. You are still my son's fiancée. This marriage certificate is fake!"

"Whether it's fake or not, you can contact my husband." Sophia looked calmly at the furious Mia.

The word "husband" made Mia tremble with anger.

"I don't believe it! You don't even have a way to contact President Robert!"

"River City is not that big." Sophia looked straightforward. "Although the Mu family and the Miller family have no business dealings, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to contact President Robert. You can go to him in person to verify. I've said it before, the video is real."

"Joseph!" Mia screamed and slapped Joseph in the face. "You've done something so shameful!"

"The video and marriage certificate are both fake," Joseph immediately denied, gritting his teeth through the burning pain on his face. "I never made a bet with Sophia, she's a fraud!"

"I'm not a fraud," Sophia corrected.

If Mia called Robert right now and he personally intervened, it would be more convincing than the marriage certificate.
