Chapter 11 - KNEEL DOWN

"Mom, you have to believe me. How could I ever deceive you?" Joseph explained to Mia, pointing the finger at Sophia. "Everything is just Sophia's cunning scheme to drive a wedge between us. The day before the wedding, they demanded ten million from me. When I refused, they threatened to cancel the wedding."

"I kicked them out of our Garcia Family villa in a fit of anger," he continued. "How could a woman like Sophia ever know President Robert? They're just greedy and want more money. After I refused, she deliberately used these fake things to drive us apart."

"Joseph, it's really hard for you to tell so many lies just to avoid kneeling," Sophia listened to Joseph's words, feeling nauseous in her stomach. She looked at Mia and said, "I came here today to make it clear that I have no relationship with Joseph, you, or my family. From now on, we'll go our separate ways."

As soon as Mia heard Sophia's words, her face twisted in anger.

"Sophia, I can see the ugly side of your family's greed. You accuse my son of lying, but I believe you are the real fraudster! I won't give you a penny, let alone ten million. I want all of you to kneel before me and return everything you've taken from our Garcia Family."

"Who says Sophia is a fraudster?" A cold and low magnetic voice sounded.Sophia looked up and saw the cool and noble Robert appear in her sight. In the next moment, he reached out his long arm and pulled her into his embrace, his arm around her waist. She felt like a little bird protected under his wings. She stiffened for a moment, then leaned into his embrace, looking blissful and sweet.

"Madam Mia, now you should believe who the real fraud is," Robert said.

Mia saw this scene and her face turned extremely ugly. She waved away the bodyguards who were chasing after them.

The CEO of the Miller Family, who was known for his elusiveness, was finally in front of her. Mia had only heard of his name and reputation in the business world, but this was the first time she had seen him in person. However, she was facing the CEO of the Miller Family, not someone like Sophia who didn't know her place."Welcome, President Robert, to my humble abode. I am honored," Mia quickly calmed down and smiled politely. "However, President Robert, I need to make it clear to you that Sophia is my son's fiancée. They were supposed to get married today, but she..."

"I didn't come here to talk nonsense," Robert interrupted her with a cold voice. "Sophia is my wife. Any association she had with your son is over. If you don't believe me, I don't know if the bankruptcy of the Mu family will make you believe it."

Mia's face turned pale.

"President Robert..." she tried to say something.

Sophia reached out and took the marriage certificate from Mia's hand, her voice gentle. "Husband, let's go home."

Robert didn't leave, his dark eyes fixed on Mia.

Mia felt a chill down her spine. She forced a stiff smile and said, "President Robert, I understand. Mrs. Miller and my son have nothing to do with each other anymore."

"Kneel down," Robert's phoenix eyes fell on Joseph, who looked unwilling.

"President Robert..." Mia exclaimed, "You can't do this."

"Willing to bet and lose," Robert looked at Joseph with a bloodthirsty glint in his eyes.

Sophia felt Robert's chilling aura up close, and although she was terrified, she remained calm as she looked at Joseph.

"No way," Joseph refused to kneel.

"Joseph," Mia, afraid of offending the Miller Family, sternly said, "Unfilial son, kneel down."

Full of unwillingness, Joseph looked at Sophia, he wouldn't spare this woman!

"Guards," Mia yelled, "Make the young master kneel down and apologize!"

"Don't touch me," Joseph angrily pushed away the bodyguards.Mia sternly ordered, "Take action."

With a thud, Joseph knelt down in front of Sophia, struggling until his face turned purple. He glared at Sophia and said, "Sophia!"

"Smack," Mia slapped Joseph across the face and immediately turned to Robert, "President Robert, my son has knelt down, can this matter be over now?"

Robert ignored Mia and just looked coldly at Joseph, who was kneeling on the ground.

Mia was a smart person, and she immediately spoke kindly to Sophia, "Weiwei, if I did anything wrong before, please forgive me. This time, it was my son's mistake, and he has knelt down to apologize to you. Can this matter be over now?"

Sophia saw the unwillingness in Joseph's eyes and knew he was a proud person who wouldn't give up just because he knelt down once.

She didn't want to make things too difficult, after all, she lived in River City, and although she had Robert's protection, their contract was only for five years. "This is over, husband, let's go," she said to Robert as they turned to leave.

As Mia watched Robert leave, the forced smile on her face disappeared instantly. With a single glance, she made the guards who were holding Joseph leave. "Don't blame Mom for being harsh on you," she said, looking at her hands trembling with fear from Robert's threat, her voice trembling, "I don't want to offend Robert. The Garcia Family was on the verge of bankruptcy before your father died. I worked hard alone for many years to achieve what we have today. I absolutely won't allow Sophia to ruin it."

In her anger, she thought of Joseph and Sophia's affair, "But you, you bastard, lost to a woman!" Joseph looked at Mia with hatred in his eyes.

"You know I don't want an arranged marriage, but you forced me to marry Sophia. If I hadn't married Sophia, how could I have lost to her? How could I have offended Robert? It's all your fault!"

"My fault?" Mia roared, "The only heir to the Garcia Family is idle, spending every day drinking and partying. I asked you to marry a virtuous and kind wife to settle down and start learning to control the Garcia Family. Did I do wrong?"

"Dad handed the company over to me before he died, but you wouldn't let me have any say in anything. You monopolized the company, and you wouldn't even let me into the board of directors. What do I have left besides playing around?" Joseph retorted, "I hate you, hate you for treating me like a puppet to be manipulated at will!"

"You..." Mia raised her hand to hit Joseph in anger, but she didn't follow through, "I don't want to argue with you! This is all because of Sophia, and I won't let her get away with it."

"She has Robert, what can you do to her?" Joseph sneered at Mia with hatred in his eyes.

"I really can't do anything to Robert..." Mia's eyes showed a viciousness, "but there are countless ways to deal with Sophia. Just wait and see!"After hearing his mother's words, Joseph looked towards the direction of the door where Sophia and Robert had left, his eyes filled with venom...

At the same time, Sophia, who had left the Garcia Family with Robert, sat in the car. On their wedding day, she hadn't seen their marriage certificate, and this was the first time she had seen the wedding photos they took together.

"You look even better in person than in the photos," she said, smiling brightly at Robert.

Robert looked at Sophia and smiled, his eyes sparkling like stars, causing his phoenix eyes to flash. He raised his hand and took out the marriage certificate.

"Thank you, Master Miller," Sophia thanked him.

Robert remained silent until they arrived at the mansion.

"Daddy..." Anthony ran over and hugged Robert.

When the cold Robert saw his son, a hint of tenderness appeared on his stern face. He bent down and hugged Anthony in his arms.

"You not only have to call me Daddy, but also Mommy," he reminded Anthony.

When Anthony looked at Sophia, she smiled gently and said, "Good evening, baby."

Anthony immediately turned his head away and didn't look at Sophia. Sophia didn't mind.

In the bedroom, when Sophia opened the wardrobe again, she was stunned because all the revealing clothes were gone, replaced by clothes that suited her taste.

She had just changed into a nightgown when she saw Robert enter the room. His deep phoenix eyes looked at her exposed legs.

For a moment, she tensed up, thinking of the unpleasantness of the first night. She forced a smile and said, "The clothes fit perfectly. I didn't expect the servants in the house to be so capable that they even knew my size."

"It wasn't the servants," Robert said as he took out a suit jacket. He gazed deeply at Sophia with his phoenix eyes. "It was me."

Sophia's face stiffened. "Master Miller...this is impossible. How did you know...?" Robert extended his long arm and pulled Sophia into his embrace. "Now..." His phoenix eyes burned with passion, and his gaze fell on her neck. His voice was hoarse and deep. "You'll know soon enough."
