When the man saw Sophia take the initiative to ask, he was startled and seemed afraid that Sophia would hit him. He immediately said, "Today's top trending search."
Sophia quickly took out her phone, turned it on, and opened the trending search. She saw a video of Abigail kneeling on the ground and slandering her, but the video only showed the parts that were unfavorable to Sophia, without showing Abigail's ugly face when she talked about Sophia and Anthony.
It was obvious that the video had been edited by someone with ill intentions to smear her.
At this moment, she had no intention of going to the pantry and hurried back to the office.
At a glance, she saw David standing in front of Robert's desk.
She walked in and took the initiative to admit her mistake, because the whole internet was insulting her, which would bring negative impact to Robert.
"Secretary Gu." David greeted her.
Sophia nodded at David and turned to Robert, saying, "President Robert, I need to talk to you about something."
"I know what happened, and I have arranged for David to take care of it." Robert said coldly.
Sophia was surprised and explained, "It's not what it looks like in the video."
"I know." Robert looked at Sophia with a hint of depth in his eyes. "I believe you."
"President Robert..." Sophia was touched by Robert's trust and warmth.
"You are my woman." Robert's eyes deeply gazed at Sophia, his words carrying a deeper meaning. He continued, "About your mother..."
"President Robert, I will handle my mother's affairs. Please don't interfere. I..." Sophia couldn't let Abigail know about Robert's existence, otherwise she would use it to blackmail him.
Robert looked at Sophia firmly and asked, "Go on."
"I don't want them to know about our marriage," Sophia said firmly. "It's better if they don't know about your existence."
Joseph and Mia wouldn't tell Abigail about Robert, or else Mia would lose such a good person to use.
So, if she didn't say anything, Abigail wouldn't know about Robert.
"You're in a hurry to leave me, but unfortunately we still have five years together," Robert's eyes became colder.
Sophia instantly understood that Robert had misunderstood her, making her feel uncomfortable.
In his eyes, she didn't even want to introduce him to her family, but it was just to keep him from disturbing her family so that they could divorce cleanly when the contract time was up.
"Is there anything wrong? If President Robert is fine, I'll leave first."
She didn't plan to explain to him. He misunderstood her, and she endured it. At least he wouldn't be extorted by her mother.
Robert picked up the file and flipped through it.
Sophia, feeling bitter and sour, left the office when she saw Robert's indifference towards her.
Robert watched Sophia's straight back and a complex of helplessness flashed in his eyes.
After leaving the office, Sophia received a call from her sister Ava. She didn't want to answer it at first, but because of the trouble caused by her mother Abigail, she had to take leave from the Miller Family.
"Sophia, how could you hurt Mom like this?" In a coffee shop, Ava sat in front of Sophia with anger in her eyes."A video that was edited to frame me, and that's called me hurting Mom?" Sophia's face was cold.
"You..." Ava immediately took out her phone and was shocked to say, "Why can't I find any videos of you cursing and hitting your mother online? Not even one..."
When Sophia left the Miller Family, there were no videos of her online anymore. Robert had protected her.
She thought of Robert, feeling both warm and uneasy in her heart.
"I never cursed or hit my mother, so of course there wouldn't be any videos of me doing that online," Sophia replied.
"Sophia, what have you done?" Ava looked at Sophia unexpectedly.
"I'm just a poor woman, what can I do?" Sophia picked up the glass of water on the table and took a sip.
Ava looked at Sophia firmly. If Sophia hadn't fallen out with Joseph, Master Garcia would have helped her out in such a big situation. But now that Joseph hated Sophia so much, how could he possibly help her?
Ava knew Sophia's situation very well. Without the support of the Garcia Family, Sophia had nothing.
"Sophia, even if that video is gone from the internet, you have caused too much harm to your mother," Ava advised Sophia after calming down. "You should apologize to her."
"I have nothing to do with you guys," Sophia reminded Ava.
"Sister..." Ava immediately put on a gentle and caring expression. "I know we had a bad fight last time we were at home, but please listen to your sister's advice and don't hurt Mom's feelings anymore."
"I came here to tell you that no matter how much she tries to blame me, I won't apologize to the Garcia Family," Sophia said firmly.
"Sister..." Ava sighed. After a moment, she said,"Dad booked a private room at the restaurant tonight. Can't we all just have a meal together?"
"I'm busy," Sophia refused bluntly.
"Sister..." Ava looked at Sophia pitifully. "I promise that no one will mention Joseph or the Garcia Family during dinner. It's just one meal. If anyone brings them up, I'll be the first to argue with them."
Sophia picked up her handbag and said, "I have something to do. I'm leaving."
Ava hurriedly grabbed Sophia's arm and said, "I'm sorry, sister."
"Let go," Sophia's brow furrowed.
"Last time, I hurt you," Ava's eyes turned red, tears swirling in her eyes. "I regretted it afterwards. I'm sorry."
"What do you want now?" Sophia's face was cold. "I've been taking the blame for you since we were young. Isn't that enough? What else do you want me to take the blame for? I'm telling you, I have nothing to do with you guys anymore. Do you understand?"
"Sister, please," Ava cried like a tearful person. "Can I kneel down for you? We're a family. I don't want to ruin it because of Joseph. I've thought about it a lot. We've been through tough times without money or power. I can't bear to see us fall out over the Garcia Family."
As she spoke, she tried to kneel down.
"Are you trying to frame me like Mom did?" Sophia's eyes were icy, and she pulled Ava up before she could kneel down.
"No one's in the cafe," Ava said quickly to Sophia. "If I wanted to frame you like Mom did, I'd pick a place with more people. Why would I do it here?"
"It's just one meal," she continued. "I swear that if anyone mentions the Garcia Family during dinner, I'll walk out and get hit by a car. You don't have to make such a vicious oath."
"I'm not going," Sophia said, trying to take her hand back, but Ava held it tighter. "I won't go."
"I'm begging you," Ava pleaded with Sophia. "It's just one meal. Our little brother talks about you every day. Even if you hate me, you have no reason to hate someone you don't even know."
Sophia was moved at the thought of her younger brother. Despite the family's internal struggles, her youngest brother remained oblivious and their relationship was the strongest. Seeing Sophia's emotions, her sister quickly grabbed her hand and said, "Let's go now. Our brother has been waiting for you." As she spoke, a malicious calculation flashed in her eyes.
