Chapter 5 - KNEEL AND BEG ME

Abigail glared at Sophia with gritted teeth and said angrily, "As your mother, it's my right to sell you off for the prosperity of our family. It's what a daughter should do!"

"If that's what a daughter should do, then we have more than one daughter in this family. Why not let our older sister marry into the Garcia Family?" Sophia sneered. "She's single, and the Garcia Family's high status is perfect for her."

"Do you think I want to give you an advantage?" Abigail gritted her teeth and glared at Sophia. "If it weren't for you causing your sister's leg to be crippled when you were young, why would it be your turn?"

"My sister's leg wasn't caused by me at all, it was her..." Sophia immediately retorted Abigail.

"Sophia..." Ava's face changed, and she quickly grabbed Sophia, awkwardly saying, "Sophia, don't argue with your mother. Let's deal with the Garcia Family first."

Normally, when Sophia saw Ava trying to persuade her, she would just endure it because they were family.

But today, she wouldn't and she wouldn't in the future.

She shook off Ava's hand and stared coldly at her.

"Sister, I know you're my sister, but I've been taking the blame for you for ten years. Every time Mom brings it up, she beats me up and blames me for causing your leg to be crippled. I've been enduring it all for you, but today I won't take the blame for you anymore."

Ava tightened her grip on Sophia's hand, her nails digging deep into Sophia's arm.

"Sophia, I know you don't want to marry Joseph, but don't speak out of turn," she said, her voice cold and low. "As a member of the Martinez Family, you can't be reckless and ruin our chance at wealth. You must apologize to the Garcia Family, and you can't be late for the wedding tomorrow. As for..."

She paused for a moment, her voice even colder. "As for what happens after you get married, my mother and I have already discussed it. You'll marry Joseph, and I'll sleep with him and bear his child. You'll become the Garcia Family's wife, and I won't mistreat my little sister."

Sophia looked down at her bleeding arm, squeezed tightly by Ava. She heard Ava's words, and they sounded like the biggest joke she had ever heard.

Listening to her sister's words, and looking at her family who she had loved so much since childhood, Sophia realized that when it came to interests, they didn't see her as a human being.

"I'll marry Joseph, and you, my sister, will have his child and become the Garcia Family's wife. Then what am I, who was supposed to be the Garcia Family's wife?" she said, laughing bitterly. Her disappointment in her family was evident in her smile.

"Good sister, I was the stepping stone for you to become Mrs. Garcia, but in the end, I was kicked away with nothing. Your inherent bad nature has never changed for so many years, and your schemes are really loud, but I won't let you have your way."

Sophia said to Abigail coldly, "It was never me who caused my sister's leg to be crippled. In the third year of junior high school, she stole the school flower's boyfriend and became the third party, and was beaten by the school flower's friends, which broke her leg. She was afraid of the scandal, so she pushed the blame on me, saying that she saved me from being hit by a car. Don't try to blame me for this."

Abigail was suddenly stunned, and she looked at her eldest daughter Ava unexpectedly.

Ava's eyes flashed with panic, and she quickly explained, "Mom, little sister is lying. She deliberately framed me because she didn't want to marry Joseph."Abigail's gaze went back and forth between Sophia and Ava.

"Sophia, you little brat, you're so vicious!"

"I knew you wouldn't believe me and would believe my sister instead." Sophia pushed Ava away and took out her phone to play a video. "The whole school knew that she became the third party and had her leg broken. This video was sent by the school flower's sister to mock me. Fortunately, I didn't have money to buy a new phone, so I've been using this phone for so many years, and the video is still saved."

Abigail's gaze was fixed on Sophia's phone screen, and the content being played made her face stiffen.

Ava looked at Sophia in shock. She couldn't believe that after all these years, Sophia still had the shameful video that made her feel so embarrassed. Her face turned pale and red with embarrassment and anger.

"Oh..." She fell to the ground with a thud.Abigail rushed over to help Ava up. "What happened? Did Sophia push you?" she asked, concerned.

"Mum, Sophia pushed me!" Ava cried, tears streaming down her face.

"You little brat!" Abigail glared at Sophia. "How dare you push your sister? You're getting too big for your boots, aren't you?"

Sophia couldn't help but find Ava's words amusing. She had pushed Ava a minute ago, and yet Ava was only just falling now. Unfortunately, Abigail was blind to the truth and only saw Ava's accusations.

"Don't blame my sister, Mum," Ava said, giving Sophia a sly look. "Don't believe her lies. I've never been a third party in anyone's relationship. Nowadays, video editing technology is so advanced, she could have easily edited the video to frame me."

Before Abigail could respond, Ava continued, pretending to be pitiful. "Sophia, I know you don't want to marry Joseph, but you can't use me as a scapegoat. I saved you when you injured your leg, and now you're treating me like this? How could you be so ungrateful?"

"I'm ungrateful? Ha..." Sophia saw through Ava's tricks at a glance and laughed coldly. "I may be excessive, but I don't have the same poison as your family. I am your sister and Abigail's daughter. How could you hurt me like this? Or am I just a foundling?"

"You're just a..." Abigail almost said something she shouldn't have, but she quickly became angry. "You wicked little thing! You're as cunning as a snake, trying to harm your sister and not marry Joseph!"

Sophia didn't want to waste her breath. "I won't attend the wedding tomorrow, and I won't give you the chance to plot against me anymore. From now on, I'm cutting ties with you."

Abigail had always loved Ava, and when she saw Ava crying in pain and heard Sophia say the words "cutting ties," she immediately roared at Sophia.

"Sophia, kneel down for me."

"Never!" Sophia lifted her chin slightly and spat out two cold words.

Abigail glared at Sophia with a face as cold as iron. "Sophia, I am your mother, and that's something you can never change in your life! As my daughter, you have an obligation to support me, and you have an even greater obligation to bring me a good life! You can forget about cutting ties!"

Sophia sneered at Abigail and looked straight at her, forcefully retorting, "I have an obligation to support you! But if you want me to sell myself to bring you a life of wealth and luxury, you can forget about it!"

"How is marrying Master Garcia selling yourself?" Abigail was furious and shouted at Sophia, "As Mrs. Garcia, you will enjoy a life of honor and wealth. What's not to be satisfied about?"

"Let me be Mrs. Garcia? Don't make me laugh!" Sophia looked at Abigail with amusement, then pointed at Ava and said, "If she wants to marry Joseph, she can go ahead and do it herself. I won't be your stepping stone."

"If your sister wasn't crippled, would you even have a chance?" Abigail was so angry that she was about to explode. "Sophia, you need to apologize to Master Garcia right now. Even if you have to kneel down and beg him for forgiveness, you must make sure that the wedding takes place tomorrow!"

"That's impossible!" Sophia was resolute.

Kneel down in front of Joseph and beg for his forgiveness?

Not in this lifetime, nor in the next!

Abigail didn't expect Sophia to be so strong-willed. Her eyes were filled with anger as she rushed towards Sophia, looking fierce and menacing.

"Little girl, you must be our stepping stone! I have to wake you up today, or you won't even know who you are!" Sophia grabbed Abigail's hand as she struck towards her, her eyes cold and clear as she spoke to Abigail, "My name is Sophia, I am no longer your daughter. If you dare to hit me, I will fight back. Don't overestimate yourself."

With that, she shook off Abigail's grip.

Abigail stumbled and almost lost her balance, but she managed to steady herself by holding onto the table.

"Sophia, you know the wedding venue. If you don't marry Master Garcia tomorrow, I will make sure you never have a peaceful day in your life."

"If you have the guts, bring it on!" Sophia left without looking back, determined.

"Sophia..." Abigail roared in anger, "I won't let you go. You will never have a peaceful day in your life!"

As dusk fell, Sophia walked out of her home, still able to hear her mother Abigail's angry voice.

This made her feel a heaviness and pain she had never experienced before.

"Sophia, how does it feel to break away from your family?" Joseph got out of his Ferrari, gloating.
